Swarovski Crystal beads
Hey everybody.
I'm having a dress made, and I want to have swarovski crystal
rhinestones/diamantes there are quite alot of internet shops
which sell these but i'd rather go to a shop in london which had a
range of these as I might like different sizes of them and I like to
see something infront of me before i buy it. Do any of you guys
know a shop where i can find a range of trimmings such as
swarovski crystal beads, rhinestones diamontes and other such
trimmings.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
thanks xxx
Answer:
You could try The Bead Shop in Covent Garden, think its on Tower Street.
Answer:
Try ells and farrier on Beak Street, just off regent street/carnaby street. They also trade under the name of creative beadcraft and carry decent range of colours and sizes of crystals/rhinestones... be warned though, buying these aren't cheap as the price soon adds up.
Don't waste your time going on a sunday though as they are closed.
Answer:
thanks alot! :)
Redoute order arrived
NO.2. ask :
Redoute order arrived
Well I received part of my redoute order today...
I wasn't overly disappointed with the 3 piece luggage set, but mine came in navy blue... although I might have actually preferred the orange! (check me out... so ungrateful :p )
I got the bensimon fern print wrap dress for £35... It was too thin and gaped too much so that has to go back.
I got the white/green print floral tunic... fitted ok, but arms were too baggy. The pic in the catalogue is a bit deceptive - looks like 3/4 length sleeves which I would have preferred.
Well those are going back, but I rang the customer service and they applied the 20% discount I got for the wrap dress onto the next highest priced item - which I haven't received yet.
I was told by the customer service operator that their returns and refund policy is really good - is this true?
Still yet to wait for (I hope i'm not disappointed with these):
turquoise silk camisole
hot pink silk camisole
Taupe/lilac slip
white/green print silk dress
And just ordered the turquoise toe post sandals with the £10 no mov code... but a 5 week wait, so I won't get them in time for my hols  they were showing as available the other day... well they do say she who hesitates...
Answer:
Hiya Yingers, their returns policy is pretty good actually, they do a new thing now where they email you and tell you what they've received and that it will be credited to your account/credit card. You can also check that and see all your orders on line on the "My account" bit on their website.
Sorry you won't get your sandals in time for your hols, but I hope you get everything else, I kept that tunic but now I'm not so sure!
Answer:
hi Yingers :)
when you get it, do let us know what you think of the white/green print silk dress, as I've been deliberating over this one...
TIA, Hxx
Answer:
As far as delays go, I ordered something a week or so ago, which was supposed to take seven weeks- it arrived within a few days, along with the rest of the order. A similar thing's happened to me before. I think they just err on the side of caution.
Answer:
Thanks guys... I shall keep my fingers crossed for a possible earlier delivery... the turquoise camisole has been quoted at 8 weeks on the despatch note I received with my order yesterday  and I also can't wait for those sandals... I saw another pic of them in the catalogue and the colour looks even better than I thought.
Heidibee... I think a couple of other baggers bought that dress recently, you might be able to do a search on the thread - unless anyone wants to repost about it again on here.
Aztec print?
NO.3. ask :
Aztec print?
what do you think about this?
I'm sure I've seen some aztec print tunics in the high street somewhere, but now I can't remember where :(
I really want a sweetheart/square neckline aztec printed/embroidered top, but would like you all to stop me if you think I'm well off the mark here...
Thanx! hb xx
Answer:
I think aztec, celtic, tribal etc designs can look good if done subtely with a modern feel.
Have you found one yet?
Perhaps some unusual shop that has 'one offs' iykwim? Or try a search online for aztec print t shirt/tunic?
If you can't find anything, you could get one printed.
I don't have any sweetheart or square neck t's but I do have a boatneck tee that we can work out a design for you and print.
LMK if you are interested!

Answer:
They had some in Miss Selfridge around Xmas time. I really liked them, but when I tried one on it didn't quite suit me.
Not sure if they would have been the ones you saw though, these were v-necks, but still very nice. :)
Answer:
thanx ladies :D
have you got access to any aztec style print patterns bearlily? If the fit of the tshirt/tunic is fairly snug, I'd prob be interested in a custom tee...
ps - what's 'boatneck' style?

calling all people with imagination ;)
NO.4. ask :
calling all people with imagination ;)
Helloooooo
I am a medical student at a London university and some time this week, I will be out on the tubes, trying to raise money for charity (random ones (well, carefully selected by the univeristy...) and for the Tsunami relief project)) in something called RAG (raising and giving).
Most of the students dress up- scrubs and nurses uniforms ;), and I am not willing to be 'different' and go in boring plain clothes  , hence I shall be dressing up too! In scrubs.
I don't feel right just dressing up in scrubs and asking people for money (in the politest way possible :)), therefore I feel it is only right to decorate my scrubs in a way that will make it worth people's money (ie. i'll have put some effort into it, hence i deserve their money ;)).
But, i am rather stuck for ideas as to how I can decorate my scrubs! Can anyone think of funky, cool, imaginative, smile-inducing ideas for me?
I would quite like to use glitter (oh what the hell. Make a mess! :D). I considered drawing on the skeleton onto the scrubs, but considering I am rubbish at drawing, i somehow think it will look a bit of a mess! Sooooooo, any ideas, you good people? Nothing stupid like writing 'kick me' on the back, please. So, what would make you donate (even more) money? What would brighten up your day on the tube? My friend suggested I cut bits out of my scrubs to 'show off bits which would be enticing'. I've kindly thanked him for his suggestion and promptly ignored him.
Any ideas would be absolutely great. Thank you!!!! :D :D
:yay:
P.S. now now, don't you all go avoiding the tube this week!!! ;) :p
Answer:
I'm not very imaginative, especially at 1.30am, but maybe you could spray them all over with glitter spray, get some fluffy, sparkly wings from Accessorize or Claire's, somewhere like that, and a halo or something and a wand and be a fairy/angel in scrubs ?
Answer:
hehehe, oh my gosh, that's exactly what I was thinking! The fairy wings bit! I'm just thinking of where I can get cheap fairy wings in central London! My friend said to me 'it's not halloween you know.' To which I retorted 'yes, but you're always telling me to let my inner child out, so meh, what better place to do it than for charity?'
I will definitely keep that in mind, thank you :)
Any other ideas? Anything I could draw/ write on my scrubs??
Cheers!
:yay:
P.S. I can't actually believe i'm quite looking forward to making a fool out of myself on the tube!
P.P.S. By the way, i don't mind making a fool out of myself. I have quite a nice reputation at university- ie. it could do with a little bit of roughing up ;) They already think i laugh far far farrrrrr too much and that i'm a little bit weird, so any offbeat suggestions, please don't be afraid to voice them!
Answer:
i suppose rather than cutting bits out you could draw bits on...... glittery bits :D
Answer:
Could you do something along the lines of the game 'Operation' and attach bizarre body parts to your scrubs (pan scrubbers for kidneys, a long ballon for your spine, a bit of loofah for your heart)? Or draw arrows to bits of your bod and write stupid names, like 'enigmatic spleen' or 'contrary elbow'. You could always tie dye your scrubs, or spray paint them in rainbow colours. Or (and this is the last one, honest) write the word 'no' in various languages all over your scrubs and go as Dr No (also works with the word 'who'). :D
Sorry :o - I think I'm drinking too much herbal tea....
TopShop Ankle Boot Moccasins: Your help is needed!
NO.5. ask :
TopShop Ankle Boot Moccasins: Your help is needed!
Hey baggers,
About a month ago, I went on a Topshop spree and bought a few bits, but didn't bite the bullet with the green suede ankle boot moccasins (fringed ones) ... and then remembered, never 'wait' when it comes to topshop.
went back 2 days later - they didn't have my size in green or the sand coloured ones ... but as they were selling so quickly I didn't know how long they had been out for, I assumed they would be getting more in.
WRONG! They are now in the sale / reduced and clearly not going to get anymore in. I am gutted. :o
So here's where I need your help guys: if ANYONE happens to be in a topshop, please, please could I ask you to check and see whether they have a pair of size 3s in these boots preferably in green, if not, in sand? (they do not have them in Ox Street, the Strand nor in Selfridges in London)
If so, I guess I am asking for the biggest fav of all - which is could you buy / post them to me?
Please PM me if so. If you think I am a new bagger - I'm not. I used to be GGi, but then lost my id when I changed jobs ... I promise you I am good for paying up - promptly.
I am about to leave for work and won't be able to access the bag until late morning /early afternoon ... so if you have PM'd me, I'm not ignoring you! :)
You assistance would be MASSIVELY appreciated.
Fingers crossed Xx
