    NO.2. ask :
    Brit Awards
I've just won a ticket to the Brit Awards, only in the pits mind! I'm looking forward to going but I imagine it's going to be full of young teenagers, so what do I want to wear, has anyone been? I'm used to going to gigs in my scruffs! Whatever I do I think trainers are a must though. :)
    Answer:
Lucky!! Green Day are playing :)
Anyway, trainers are definately a must. My friend wore some flat shoes in the pit once, and lost one of them
But I actually like wearing my converse with a camisole at the moment. Considering it always gets stupidly hot in pits:
    -Blazer
    -Camisole
    -Skinny Jeans or Denim Skirt
    -Cool retro trainers?
Oh and having your hair up is a must if it's quite long..and bringing bags in is abit mad, so unless you really need to try not to bring a bag. :)

    NO.3. ask :
ok so you have all said what you are loathing - but what are you loving?
title says it all. every one's going on about how the hate fur gilets, cowboy look etc etc so just wondering what everyone is loving at the moment and what trends for the coming months will be ?
    Answer:
Dresses over jeans - with huge belts I think looks nice.
Gypsy skirt's with cowboy boots - complete contradiction to the other thread.
Cowboy Shirts (are you seeing a pattern?):D
The fact that it's SO close to sunglasses season
I like all the ethnic looking jewellery that's meant to be about this season.
Tweed, Herringbone, and pinstripe blazers - I love them all! (but not all that print at once)
And the fact January's over - hurrah! :yay:
    Answer:
I love the fact that looking "ladylike" is back in fashion - ie. tweed blazers, good wool coats, leather gloves, etc :) I like getting dressed up smartly!
I also love all the retro-styled lingerie that's around at the moment - satin french knickers, 1940s style pink and black bras, etc etc.
    Answer:
I actually like the fur gilets (though not so sure now lol)
I love the ethnic/tribal stuff around (just ordered gorge braceelt from ASOS £6)
    I love the peasant skirts
I love the orange stuff that is around at the mo too
    Answer:
I love my jade tie-front bolero and white furry boots. I know they're going the same way as ponchos, but I'm still going to wear them.
I also really like dark grey combat style trousers right now (but not the ones which are really baggy / have lots of pockets), and also chunky knitwear, cowboy shirts (checked) and all of the ethnic jewellery thats around, especially the really long bead necklaces.
I hate furry gillets (I loved them at first but now they're really overexposed) but I quite like the hooded parka style gillets, although I doubt that anyone else would agree!

    Answer:
    Hullo!
im in desparate need of a new bag,all my bags get wear and tear and don't last long.
a lot of my friends have wee gucci logoed ones or the gucci messanger bags
im not really into hugley noticble labels but i would like one that is black proberly leather and would be really good quality
    any suggestions?
    fefexx
    Answer:
Same as the last couple of years... a really lovely white leather bag, but I still haven't found one I really like yet  ... but hopefully Fiona will be taking care of that for me this year :yay:
    Answer:
I probably shouldn't but I really want to get one made by the HKBL. I really like the Blenheim bag on the Mulberry website, but would prefer it with a longer strap to wear 'seatbelt' style, so might find out how much that would be. I'm not into logos either.
Need to wait until I have more pennies though!
    Answer:
I've just ordered a Marc Jacobs sophia style from the HK bag lady.
Still on the lookout for my perfect casual bag. Just can't find 'THE' bag if you know what I mean! I've just got the new Mulberry catalogue and I like the baby Roxy style and the Suzy bag, so may have to take another look at those.
  • Navy; dress me up before you go-go!; need help; Big red belt; Is it just me or..?
  • Black Tie - is this acceptable?

    NO.5. ask :
Black Tie - is this acceptable?
I've just had very short notice for a black tie do next week. I don't really want to (a) trawl around the shops for something; (b) spend a lot of money, so I've been going through my wardrobe looking for something suitable.
I've never been to a proper black tie do before (I don't get out much!!!) so I'm not sure what's acceptable, but a number of people have told me that for women just about anything goes.
I'm thinking of wearing a knee length black layered crepe skirt, with a tiered black top that's got black sequins edging the layers and making a pattern on each layer. I was going to then dress it up with a pale pink sparkly scarf and pink beaded evening bag. I was also thinking of some patterned tights.
Does this sound like it would be okay?
    Answer:
Sounds good to me - as long as you glam your outfit up a bit as you've suggested, it should be great.
I've been to black tie dos before and worn a black suit with satin piping (similar to a men's tux), strapless top, heels, minimal jewellery and hair piled on top of my head. Simple but effective!
    Have fun! :yay:
    Answer:
Your outfit sounds great to me too. I've got a black tie do coming up as well and I'm going to be wearing a strapless knee length dress with sandals. Have fun!
    Answer:
    Sounds perfect!
    Answer:
Thanks everyone - I now consider myself well and truly reassured! ;)
