shortening jeans
do jeans look okey when thevyve been shortened? can you tell the difference?
Answer:
I've shortened jeans myself and they look ok but not brilliant... if it's important to you to have a good original finish, I would take this to the dry cleaners and pay to have it done, especially even if it's an expensive pair.
Answer:
I always have to have jeans shortened, but pay a proper dressmaker to do it for me. The finish is not quite as good, but no-one can tell unless they spend a lot of time around your ankles ;) It's the only option I have so I go with it, rather than go without.

I've got to take a pair of COH jeans to be shorted this week - they're too long to wear with trainers, and the wash is to pale to look good with heels so I'm going to get them hemmed. I'll let you know how I get on! I'm taking them to the dry cleaners where I always get my trousers shortened - they always do a superb job of my trousers. I know jeans are a bit more difficult - but I bought the jeans on ebay so I won't be that heart broken if they're not perfect
Answer:
Hi, I shortened some jeans at Christmas - actually it's Mr Allegro that can sew - so he did it. It was a bit fussy what with measuring and trying them on several times to get the 'perfect length' but they look fine now. I found a link that shows how to do it -

It's not really noticeable but if you were standing on a tube escalator behind me at eye level to the hem of my jeans you would probably figure it out if you were looking for the hem.
what goes with bronze?

what goes with bronze?
evening
I'm a bit stuck for with an outfit for sat night. I've got some new dark blue jeans, metallic bronze shoes with glittery bits on and a metallic light bronze here - I just need a top!
I might have to go shopping tomorrow, to find a bronzey/metallic one - but could do without spending anymore money.
So do any colours go?
I've got a lot of black tops, and brown, then a few dark red, and a couple of other colours, but these are the ones I wear mainly.
otherwise, if anyone can recommend a nice top in a high street shop anywhere..!!
Answer:
If you get a bronze top with bronze shoes and a bronze bag it may all be a bit too... bronze.
I like autumnal colours with bronze - purple, olive green, burnt orange. There's a fair bit of purple around in the shops at the moment, too.
Answer:
Haize
I have a pair of bronze shoes which I wear to death and I find that they and my bronze bag go with nearly everything - often wear them with black, and red, and have just bought a beautiful bronze sequin top/dress thing which I wear with white skinnies and that looks really good with the shoes and bag.
I think my bronze shoes are one of the best things I have ever ever bought :D
Answer:
ah, you are all giving me hope then!
I wasn't sure about the black - but I'm not very good with fashion!! and that's my best option as I have loads!
I also have a purple vest top..so will try a few things on together and see.

yesterday at the gym i saw a rather ummm large man wearing the following:
green cycling shorts
white, tight cut-off levis on top
huuuge black hoodie
all whilst on the cross trainer! unfortunately he would've heard if i'd taken a picture with my phone, otherwise i would've been able to show you this delight  what lovely things have you all seen lately?
Answer:
all I can think of is that man-size knitted romper-suit that greedyguts posted yesterday - i'm still in shock!
Answer:
I've just seen a lady in her 40's at a bus stop with a great figure wearing powder blue yoga pants and a navy cropped hoodie but the pants were pulled really high around her waist creating a very visable camel toe. nasty!
Answer:
I've inadvertantly commited my own fashion crime - I was in a rush this morning and pulled my brown slouch boots on with my brown cords... Which would be fine if they weren't exactly the same shade of brown
I looked down at my feet on the bus and realised it looked like I was wearing a brown romper suit with feet built in :o
Answer:
There is a guy at my gym who wears the strangest outfit - he is quite large as well so it is particularly unpleasant:
Tiny running shorts - you know the sort that ride up in a really unpleasant manner, especially when is is on the bike
Nasty old t-shirt (although this isn't too much of a problem)
Illuminous yellow waistcoat - I would understand this if he was running outside - but in the gym?
Casual Tops
NO.4. ask :
Casual Tops
I need some ideas of what kind of tops I could wear for a casual look with belts over the top, I always accessories well with earrings, bag to go with the outfit and sometimes a necklace. I really just need some ideas where I can get some longer vests? would layering with different colour vests look good aswell? I am on a real tight budget so need some cheap finds and in my town the only clothes shop we have is peacocks…….great hey, but have noticed some scoop neck vests in there for £3
I have been racking my brain please help????
Answer:
Re: Casual Tops
I quite like slouchy-looking belted tunic tops or long T-shirts/vests. Layering with different coloured vests sounds great- lots of people are doing it now.
As for long vests - there was a thread recently about them. Try Topshop or HM. And if you can get to one, Primark is always a safe bet!
g_k
Ewwww!
