what to wear to gig?
I'm going to a gig next week but I don't really have anything to wear. I have a large chest and fat arms (fat all over :() but everything I try on which could be suitable is sleeveless or t-shirts just make my chest look even bigger and completely out of proportion as I'm only 5'2". Does anyone have any suggestions what I could try?
Thanks
Answer:
which band/artist what kind of music will it be?
and which venue are you going to?
i guess most of the attention will be on the band, so even if your chest does look on the large side - which you should be proud of anyway, as i'm the opposite :( - probably not too many people will notice, unless the band do, in which case they might grab you up onto the stage :yay:
anyway, let us know we'll see if we can help
Answer:
I'm going to see Rooster at Sheffield Leadmill :o (Would just like to say I'm NOT a fan my friend just thinks the singer is fit and I thought why not go)
I know everyone will be looking at the band and stuff but I want to look nice. Its not like its a proper pop concert like Westlife so I could wear a nicer top with longer sleeves or even a proper moshy gig where I'd just wear any old top.
I'm assuming that alot of it will be 14 years olds tarted up in an attempt to get the attention of one of the band but I'm past that although I wouldn't say no if the singer asked... lol :D)
Answer:
By proper concerts I mean sit down concert not proper as in rocky.
It is a standing concert and I've never been to a standing boyband concert before.
Thats the thing I don't want to wear a vest top as my arms are too fat and I would be worrying about them rather than enjoying the concert.
Answer:
ha ha, pearlie - love it
hmmm, i was gonna suggest heels, as you're kinda ikkle ;) but if you're standing for ages that won't be good.
i agree with the jeans suggestion. can't go wrong.
also a vest top with something a bit sheer long-sleeve over the top so you won't get too hot, but you won't be too revealing either. try miss selfridge or similar....? (not sure what your budget is).
have fun anyway
Vogue - grrrr!
NO.2. ask :
Vogue - grrrr!
Aaarrgh, I wish the Vogue website would get a bl**dy move on update their street-chic section. It's been the same (Jan 2005 sales) for the longest time (that reminds me of a very corny 80s song woooaah-oh-oh-oh-for-the-longest-time:music: )
I know they must have trouble finding stylish people out about, seeing as all of us are sitting indoors chatting here, but jeez!
sorry for rant, but i look forward to checking out the peeps there almost as much as i do to coming on here :)

the classic white vest
NO.3. ask :
the classic white vest
hellloooooo
well every year - as most people do - i buy a number of white vests. This year, thought i might treat myself to something a bit more "designery";) - who makes the best classic white vest, where can i buy it from and how much will it cost me???
thanks in advance:D
Answer:
Anyone with more money than sense buys their white vests from Petit Bateau but frankly I'd sooner get mine from Primark. Nobody knows where it's from unless you have the label sticking out (vests t-shirts with the designer's name blasted across the front are vulgar, vulgar, vulgar), plus the buggers all go grey in the end no matter how much Vanish oxi action you use. So my advice is to buy cheap and chuck them out at the end of the summer!
Answer:
if it's designer-y does it mean that it will hold its 'whiteness' more than a high street vest? I got through about half a dozen vests a year, at least, as they always end up looking grey:(
no hi-jack intended kjb!;)
Answer:
Well, I was just going to say that I have some white ones from Primark which fit perfectly, look fine and are just as good as anything else ten times their price. White vests go manky so quickly that it just seems like throwing money away to buy anything more expensive. But then I am a skint ex-student.
g_k
Answer:
I know - you're all right - i'm wearing a hm one myself today.
Did anybody see the last scene from Closer where the girl is walking through time square? she's got a sort of layered white vest on with jeans - i'd like something like that???
