Zara python shoes
I noticed a couple of weeks ago in Zara's new range that there were at least 4 different styles of faux python shoes.
In particular I liked the brown-ish pointy mules with medium stilleto heels, but when I tried them on they seemed quite difficult to walk in and would be quite painful.
Another pair I liked were these white kitten heel pointy slingbacks... now I hate slingbacks, but I hadn't stopped thinking about them since and bought them today! They look real smart on and I really love them... I guess I will have to learn to get on with slingbagcks.
Does anyone have any advice on wearing slingbacks? I used to cringe at the thought of wearing stilletos, pointy shoes and toe posts... so if I can get over those these should be a doddle.
I'll post a pic later... has anyone seen the python shoes in Zara and like them?
Answer:
Yingers they sound really nice. Please do post a pic!
The only tip I could give with slingbacks is to make sure they are tight. That's why I prefer adjustable slingbacks to elasticated ones. If mine happen to be too loose, the hem of my jeans or trousers always get caught between the heel of my foot and the shoe and it's not a very good look!
Answer:
oh dear... I bought a size 5 even though I am usually size 4 as I couldn't pull the slingback over my heel... it is elasticated so I hope they don't loosen much so my shoes are always slipping off!
I'll have to give them a test drive around the house!

I have some gorgeous python strappy sandals from Pied a Terre with a brushed silver disc on the bridge but they kill me :(
I have seen the Zara ones though and they are lovely, Zara shoes are always gorg :)

Here's a link to my shoes. I've had a short stroll around the house and appear ok, probably will take some getting used to though, but they're here to stay I reckon!
Gemstone Necklace?
NO.2. ask :
Gemstone Necklace?
I've been looking for a necklace for years that's really quite simple but I've not found it yet!
Basically it's a black cord/chain with some semi precious gemstones spaced evenly along it. I'd forgotten all about this until a woman walked past me wearing exactly the one I wanted! I just wondered if anyone had seen this kind of thing on their travels?
Thanks!
Answer:
I think I know the ones you mean. They are called chakra necklaces and have 7 different stones to balance your body or something like that.
Is it something similar to this ? There are nicer ones that I've seen but I can't find any on the internet. I used to sell them in a shop I worked in and they were really cute, it was a hippyish kind of shop so maybe try them.
Susan in Teachers used to wear one all the time!
Answer:
i have one somewhere.. i got it in urban outfitters, i think it was by noëlle and about £12. hth!
Answer:
I have the one you mean it's a chakra necklace by Noel- the only thing the Google search brought up was this rather unsightly site where the woman appears to be modelling them on her feet- eurghhh! I'm pretty sure it's the right one, though, so it might be worth giving them a ring!

Slightly better (if tiny) picture here!
Valentine Disco - - theme is RED
NO.3. ask :
Valentine Disco - - theme is RED
And red washes me out so there's no point in me getting a red top or dress.
I have a red bag, and red nail polish. What could I wear with either and still make a statement?
Many thanks xx
Answer:
You can get pretty red accessories?
Accessorize always has nice pretty braclets and earrings. What about hairclips/bands or those flowers you can get that you can pin on your outfit?
I would go for a red lipstick (whatever shade suits you)
I don't like red much so I would keep it quite subtle if you dont like it much.
Hope this helps...;)
Answer:
Thanks for your reply.
All I've got for red accessories are the bag and make up, red shoes (but they're flatties and more suitable for day), red, white and black striped earrings, a black scarf (which can be worn around the neck or as a belt) with white and red spots on it and a gorgeous brown jacket with thin white and orangy-red stripes on it.
I could buy more but if I think its better if I use just ONE red item i.e. bag, which could be a strong asset with the whole outfit?
Answer:
All your things sound nice.
I think I would go for red bag and shoes. It would be nice and balanced then.
whatever you choose im sure you will look lovely x
Answer:

Must-haves For This Spring
NO.4. ask :
Must-haves For This Spring
Hi, I wonder if any of you ladies can help.
I'm on a bit of a tight budget so I can only buy a few key items for my wardrobe this Spring. Any ideas on how to spend my hard earned cash?
Thanks in advance :great:
Answer:
Skinny jeans and loads of wooden bangles, beads etc is what I find I am wearing with my older clothes to update them. Also a cropped military style jacket (don't have it yet, can't find one bigger than a size 10 in Miss Selfridge) that I think will be a good investment!
Answer:
Thanks The blonde,
I've just had a baby and i'm trying to lose the baby weight, at the momment i'm a large size 14, so skinny jeans will make me look like a whale. I like the idea of the idea of the bead necklaces, You said you made them on your thread, do you have a business or do you just make them for your self?
I have a khaki coloured blazer that im getting a lot of wear out of at the momment, its just a little chilly for it at the momment :xcool: roll on the nice whether :D
Answer:
Nope, I was just horrified by the prices the shops were charging for cheap wooden beads so I bought a few bags of natural beads and shells from ebay and made my own...and for all my friends....
I already had loads of ethnic type 'treasures' from my holidays as you can see by my haul - I much prefer hippy jewellery to bling!!

Answer:
The Blonde, your collection is v. cool!
I would say the best (and cheapest) thing i've bought to update my wardrobe so far is a wide brown belt. It makes my jeans and combats look so much more up to date and was only £4 in Primark! A nice tan leather one looks great with that kind of jewellery too.
Do I look like sh*te??
NO.5. ask :
Do I look like sh*te??
Right, I am off to a trendy new bar and I want to look 'cool' but not mutton dressed as lamb so, incase you can't make it out, I am wearing a black sheer kaftan over drainpipes with black boots that can be turned down at the top to make pirate style ones or changed completely for brown round toe stack heels. I made the beads myself, I have loads of bronze and bone bangles, a brown leather belt, a gold sling bag and until I can get the cropped the jacket I want from Miss Selfridge, I have put a white grandad shirt over the top.
I can take it if I have made a faux pas......
