Sizing in Next

NO.1. Ask :
Sizing in Next
Does anyone else find their sizing a bit odd?!
I am a size 8 in most things BUT in skirts, the size 8 is always too big, so I have to get a 6:eek:
I wouldn't get a size 6 pair of trousers over my legs, so I don't know why this is the case?
Could it be because I have fairly narrow hips?
Anyone else have this?
Answer:
Im sorry I don't have the same issues with the skirts, but I think their sizes are very random sometimes.
Somedays their stuff is too small and others waay to big! They're not too accurate I think!
Answer:
I find alot of next sizing hit miss, but my biggest problem with next is their cuts are so ill fitting. I try avoid next whenever possible because of this.
Answer:
I find the sizing quite small in next.
Or maybe I'm just getting fatter:uzzle:
Answer:
Yeah you're right, it is weird sizing
For example, I got a shirt from Next the other week, size 8, fitted perfectly. Yesterday I got the same shirt, in a different colour and needed it in a size 10, because size 8 was too small:uzzle:

    Out of the shadows.....
It seems quiet on here at the moment, after everything that has been happening over the last few weeks, so thought its time I came out of the shadows. I have been lurking for a good few months now and decided that today is the day to finally pluck up the courage to post.
I love coming on here to 'steal' ideas :o and for inspiration, and have found that I have definitely become more adventurous in my clothes lately - so thanks everyone and keep it up.
Looking forward to getting ideas and help off everyone.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm coming out of the shadows too. Misses - u've helped me pluck up the courage too, i'm determined to post more.
I didn't mean to lurk, i just feel i don't have much to input and no one would be interested in what i have to say.
But i have also become more adventurous with my style so everyones advice, ideas and opinions do help so maybe mine will too.
Anyone else out there want to join us lurkers in our coming out parade?

im off out tomorrow night, and ive been trying to sort the footwear for my outfit. the trouble is, the thing which goes best, is flip flops!! i have some gorgeous bronze leather flip flops, but the trouble is, i dont want people thinking how silly i am (i guess they are right, i mean there is snow on the ground!!)
girls wear strappy sandels throughout the winter out (im off to a bar/cheesy club!!), so is it totally wrong to wear flip flops? its always very hot in the club..im trying to mae excuses here, i know!
what do you all reckon? i just want it to be summer!
    xxohara
    Answer:
If you said you were wearing strappy sandals I'd say maybe, as you do see a lot of people wearing them on nights out at this time of year (I wait til late spring though) but as you've said flip flops I'm thinking you're crazy
    It's freezing!!!!
    Answer:
Er, at the risk of sounding like your mum, are you MAD?! Going out in this kind of weather wearing flip flops is asking for trouble.
Also, IMHO wearing summer outfits when it's blatantly freezing outside is just a bit too 'fashion victim'. sorry.
    Have a good night though!
    Answer:
lol, i know your are all right really..! thats the thing, i dont want to look like a fashion victim, the outfit isnt summery, ive just been trying to sort out the shoes, im sure you know how it can be! back to the drawing board i guess!

    Answer:
I've seen a few silver shoes on the next website under the glamour section, some falling within your budget... dunno if they'd have them in store, but the lakeside branch is pretty big so could carry a decent range... or maybe order online?
For your budget and if you go to lakeside, I guess somewhere like Barratts, New Look or Dotty P's may have something in. There are some other budget shoe shops too... I think there's a Mr Shoes, Linzi shoes and one called Kino.

Will post in Food Drink too!
Going to Edinburgh zoo on Monday :D then want to eat out somewhere before getting the train home at 9. Not too bothered about the price, just want somewhere which serves really nice food, and if it's near the station that would be helpful too!
    Thank you!
    Answer:
Try Valvona and Crolla's vin caffe - not cheap, but fabulous! They fill up pretty quickly so you might not get a booking now, but if you can I really recommend them. They're fairly close to Waverley (ten minute walk perhaps).

    Answer:
    Hey Karina
Himself and myself went to Edinburgh in April and we went to a couple of really lovely restaurants. First of all we went to The Witchery up by the Castle (expensive but worth it) and then the second evening we went to a restaurant ( I think it was the brassiere) at The Balmoral Hotel which was absolutely gorgeous. Great food, great service and not as expensive as The Witchery. Plus it's right in the centre which I think is near the station.
    Have a great time
    Answer:
One of the nicest meals I have ever eaten out was at Cafe Marlayne on Thistle Street which is just off George Street so not too far a trek from the train station. It's a little French restaurant, not overly expensive (about £15 for a main meal) and very popular so you'd have to book. If you manage to get a table you'll be in for a real treat! The food is divine. It also has a sister restaurant of the same name near the Royal Mile. There's not much difference between them in terms of menu but I prefer the Thistle Street one for its quaintness and atmosphere.
Edited to add: I love Edinburgh zoo! Have a great day!
    Answer:
I knew I could rely on you lovely ladies! We were already looking at The Witchery but will check out the other suggestions too, thank you!!
