The Thanks button
I know we are often in a hurry but today, if there is anyone who has replied with helpful advice or taken the time to answer any thread you may have posted, pop back and thank them, using the thanks button on the bottom of their post. If you have time you may want to check back on any of your threads and say thanks to anyone who may have posted since the last time you checked.
I know I often forget to thank people and lots of people have helped me with their helpful comments and suggestions, not to mentions heads-ups on sales and special offers. here is great - with truly helpful advice and honest opinions. I may spend more on here but I make fewer mistakes. Thank you everyone¨for all your help and being there all these years.

What a lovely post :D
BTW I've thanked you :D
Answer:
I have to admit that when I find advice to someone else very helpful to myself even though I didn't participate in the thread , I don't often hit the thanks button and I should actually. I seldom ask for advice but I find lots of fantastic recommendations and from now on I am going to try remember to thank people. I am always delighted to be thanked - it makes me all proud......but I have to admit that often I forget :o
Answer:
It's useful too for stopping threads becoming stupidly long with people saying 'thanks' too

O/T (Sort-of!!) but did anyone see 10 years younger last nite?!

O/T (Sort-of!!) but did anyone see 10 years younger last nite?!
Oh my god - did anyone see that programme last nite on 4 - wednesdays is my nite in - gr8 TV allllll nite!
Anyway, i was so shocked at 10 years younger, they made this woman look sooo much younger just with a good hair cut, make up and a bit of surgery. It made me think that no wonder stars never look a day older!
Anyway (there is a point to this!!) is there anyway to find out where the clothes come from cos they never say? and the woman had a wicked stripy shirt on last nite with a neck scarf, and it looked ace!
Made me think that I'd definatel have plastic surgery if I was rich and started to look a bit drab - and woman didnt drink/smoke/use sunbeds, she ate healthily and did loadsa exercise and she still looked old - so head straight to the wine bottle I say cos it makes no difference!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
In spite of the fact that the presenter annoys me, as does the voiceover man, I do find myself strangely drawn to watching this programme.
last night's was one of the best I've seen - it really was an incredible tranformation. I felt really sorry for the woman as eye bags like that are genetic and nothing to do with lifetsyle.
It was nice to see the new-found confidence she had been given as a result of her transformation.
Answer:
I watched it, and I fully agree - she looked 35 to me, if not younger. I had to do a double take the transformation was so incredible! And all that mainly achieved through a bit of hair grooming!:faint:
Answer:
She did look fantastic, I thought she looked mid thirties. I think it was the hair and clothes that made the biggest impact. Must admit watching this programme does make me dread getting older.

Answer:
I always watch this programme and it just makes me think the people polled are daft. You can almost always (there are exceptions) guess someone's age by the texture of their skin. Most of the people they transform don't look really old they just look in need of a good makeover! At the end they mostly look exactly the same age IMO but just way better groomed and styled.
The eye bag removal yesterday was pretty impressive though and did make her look younger.

a pack of black micro fishnets and a pack of nude micro fishnets in my drawer. I have no idea what I'm going to wear them with - I absolutely love them but for some reason they look a big odd with my skirts and boots now. I used to wear them like that all the time!
Answer:
ooh, you lucky thing. i love nude fishnets, especially knee highs (instead of normal nude kneehighs). i think they look cute with ballet pumps jeans - just that extra details to make your outfit look extra-special :)
and i have a feeling that you are the type of girl who might own a gorgeous pair of leopard print ballet pumps.....;)

Good idea - may keep my feet a weeny bit warmer too :great:
Answer:
tee hee hee!
i hope you aren't wearing your pumps out in this weather though (do you have snow by you?). i have been instructed by mr badu to only wear 'sensible' shoes/boots to keep feet legs warm avoid the risk of slipping over on snow! however, i have stealthily escaped today in red leather high-heel boots :yay: (better not tempt fate, though, i'll probably slip over on the way home tonight! :o )
Answer:
I am wearing my converse boots today - shortly to be my uggs when I can be arsed to go and get them :D
Anti wristband wristband?
NO.4. ask :
Anti wristband wristband?
Hi

Cheers

I think it is just a joke (I didn't hear the show, just googled it)

Its good that support is being drummed up for important causes but i think it should be done in other ways, these wristbands are just a fashion statement now, it seems that the majority of people wearing them don't know much about what they are supporting.
IMHO of course :)
Answer:
I agree flowerpower, that it's good support is being drummed up for all these causes. What pisses me off is that the wristbands are being sold on ebay for stupid amounts because they're fashion accessories and a footballer/singer/celeb have been seen supporting the cause.
A lad who I work with bought one of the Lance Armstrong yellow bands weeks ago. They were being sold in America for about $1-$2 and he paid about £5 plus postage on ebay. I'd be very surprised if they seller gave the money they made back to the charity.
Why not make a donation to the charity, and leave it at that. It seems to be all about showing that you've donated... it's a joke.
Sorry for going off topic ranting but these wristbands really annoy me!!
ETA- IMHO!!!!!

I have a "make poverty history" band, and wore it all the time, now I have seen so many people wearing it I think they don't know why they are wearing it, just wearing it to wear it!!!
Then I thought people would think I was one of those people.. so now I don't wear it... :(

Answer:

Answer:
hiya calgal,
i havent been yet but will defo pm u when i do. i was watching the afternoon show :o (cringe) a few weeks ago and there was a lady there from the shop with models wearing some of the clothes available there. apparently its quite popular with the ladies who lunch and couldnt be seen dead in the same outfit twice so they bring all there stuff to the shop and they sell it on for them. they only take things in from the past 3 seasons and it has to be in excellent condition. they also accept some vintage items ( i presume classic chanel suits etc...) they sell the items for a fraction of the original cost, and if at the most theya re only 3 seasons old, i would imagine that some gems are to be found there.
