Not sure if this is fashion or celeb gossip but...
Dolce Gabanna have split up! :(
The fashion industry's hottest couple, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, have put an end to months of speculation by confirming they've broken up. The Italian design maestros have given a candid interview revealing that although they will continue to work together on the label they co-founded, their romantic relationship is now over.
"On a professional level we are still together," explained Domenico. "We work together wonderfully well, we have a very strong understanding. What happened in the past is still there, it continues and will continue forever. We have a very strong love."
He and his partner, who founded their eponymous label back in 1985, are currently living in separate apartments in the same Milan building. Their firm is now worth £350 million and counts Madonna, Monica Bellucci, Beyonce and Kylie Minogue among its fans. The inimitable Victoria Beckham is also a sworn devotee, making regular trips to Milan to visit the stylish pair.
Despite the fact they have both started seeing other people, the two men are adamant feelings of jealousy will not interfere with their relationship. "It's a question of sentimental education, of intelligence," explained Domenico. "It has not always been easy. We have lived together for 19 years. There is the passion of the body, the flesh, and then there is love, which is deeper."
Stefano meanwhile affirmed that any new beau in his life would have to accept the closeness between him and Domenico. "I am always very clear," he said. "I say 'look, I have this bond with Domenico. But Domenico and I work together the whole day and in the evening we hardly see each other'."
I hope the label does carry on! It'd be a shame to lose the fab clothes as well as a cute couple. :(

Hilary Swank's Oscar dress
NO.3. ask :
Hilary Swank's Oscar dress
I thought this was just gorgeous, the pick of the bunch. Of course it helps that she has the best figure in the whole of Hollywood, but still, I want that frock!
Answer:
I really liked it too - I'm not a great fan of Oscar/red carpet dresses in general (I'll start running now) because I just find them to be predictable and boring more often than not. It was nice to see a dress that focussed on the back rather than cleavage and it looked fantastic on her. Mind you, with a body like that...
I liked Kate Winslet's dress too - and Halle Berry looked great. Cate Blanchett's dress was lovely as well, but then she always looks fantastic. Jealous, moi??
g_k
Answer:
i'm with you on this too, prose. the dress looked stunning, in a 'i don't need to try so hard' way.
i'm afraid i don't agree with you about kate winslet though gk - i think the ruching at the front made it look like it was too tight across her tummy! and anyway, i don't like her much as it is!
i thought beyonce looked ridiculous. i wish she'd stop dressing like she's in her 50s.
i'm glad halle berry has her hair long now. it looked gorgeous short, but then went through a horrid mid stage that didn't suit her at all. the long look is beautiful.
Answer:
I'm with you on Beyonce, missbadu! There were a lot of dresses I wasn't keen on at all - but those who got it right looked great.
As for Halle Berry - there can't be that many women in the world who suit both cropped hair and long hair!! I was well amused when she turned up to collect her raspberry award too...

Answer:
just looked at some more pics.....
kate winslet's dress doesn't look so bad in the 2nd pic i've seen, but still not overly keen.
but gwynneth paltrows dress is way to clingy. she's really squeezed herself into it. not a good look. and what's with the puffball hem at the bottom
i'm sticking with hilary swank - you go girl

Yet another question about charity shop clothes, I'm afraid!
On my way in today I spotted two things in my local charity shop - a brown plain round-necked jumper with gold lurex running through it and a mushroom/mink long jumper. I am undecided about both and need your advice!
The brown sparkly jumper is pretty and I like it, but I'm not sure what to wear it with (and if it will look too frumpy!). My current thoughts for it are to wear it with a denim mini, opaques and knee high boots or nude fishnets and Mary Janes once it gets a bit warmer. I think it could also work with a black mini, big chunky belt and brown boots - any other thoughts/views?
The mushroomy jumper is a size XL which is far too big for me (I'm an 8), but I think it could still work. It's a nice knit - smooth cottony style wool. It's meant to be short sleeved, and I think quite close fitting round the neck, so the sleeves, shoulders and neck actually fit quite well on me in a slouchy kind of way! It's a little above my knees, and huge round the middle, of course - if I got it, I would put an elastic band round the middle on the inside to give it more shape. With this in place, I was thinking it could *just* work belted over jeans and knee high boots, or, if I'm feeling very daring, belted by itself with opaques and slouchy suede calf high boots. I really don't know though - one worry about this is that it's going to look too 80's and frumpy ...
Any opinions? I'm stressed as hell at the moment so my judgement is probably way off - please don't mock me tooooo much or I'll cry :boohoo:

Answer:
Get the first one definitely, it sounds lovely, not at all frumpy, and I love the sound of the gold.
The second one I feel a bit iffy about as it would be a bit of a hassle modifying it and might not turn out right etc. But then I am chronically lazy!
But if they are both cheap as chips what's the problem?! Buy both...
Answer:
Thanks, bubbles...
Come on peeps, 30-odd views and no more opinions?? :)
g_k
Answer:
I'm with bubbles on this one. the first one sounds nice versatile. try it on first though, as lurex can sometimes be a bit scratchy.
re. the 2nd one, i've bought things so many times thinking i'd customise it, and then i've either not gotten around to it, or it's looked ghastly when it's done  plus if you're stressed, the last thing you need is an extra ( fiddly) task to be worrying about.
report back tomorrow won't you :)
Answer:
Thanks for the replies, girls!
I did try them both on - the lurex is quite soft, luckily, so it wouldn't irritate the heck out of me. I shall ponder the matter overnight and decide tomorrow - I fiddled around with the other jumper and my belt and I *think* it could work - I like customising clothes anyway (I do it to relax  ) so I'm not bothered about doing that...
Cheers!

Yet another cheapo item from Primark that folks are bidding on quite happily.
Here
I really should get on this bandwagon, but then if I did I couldn't get outraged about some people having more money than sense!
Answer:
Nice bag though. How much is it from Primark?
Answer:
I bet the people bidding on that bag were swayed by the "boho sienna chic" description!! Makes me cringe!!
Answer:
It seems that if you put 'boho', 'sienna', or 'kate' in the title, no matter what you're selling, people will always pay silly money for it. I could leave my slippers out in the garden, let them get all soggy, tatty and ruined and I bet someone would still bid on them if I put 'Vintage-look slippers boho chic, sienna kate' as the description.
Answer:
Ditto. Some people are just trying too hard be lazy ass copycats who cant define their own styles. Im tired. Dont blame me if that doesnt make sense :)
