What to buy in China?

NO.1. Ask :
What to buy in China?
Am going to China soon and have heard that a lot of designer stuff can be bought very cheaply there. Has anyone been? Would love some recommendations.
Am most interested in jeans, shoes heres.
Thank you!
Answer:
i didnt buy designer stuff but you have got to buy a dress - or more than one! their silk dresses are to die for...
Answer:
I would say that unless you are a very petite build, it will be hard for you to buy clothes in China, because the ladies are tiny there! And the same goes for the shoes too!
Wheresabout in China are you staying? I would suggest that you ask your hotel to recommend a good tailor, so that you can get something nice made! It's meant to be quite cheap out there to do this! Rip a few pics out of catalouges so you can show them your ideas.
Also, head towards the markets for the real bargins! My friend is from Beijing, and everytime she comes back from a trip there, she ends up with loads of cheap and very fashionable heres and jewellery!
From what I've been told, some designer labels are actually more expensive in China than in the UK.

Just wondering if anyone else calls each other silly things :)
My favourite term is poopie :heyhey:
Mr Dooz sometimes gets called blondie (he's not blonde but he can act it sometimes  It doesn't help that he does actually have a *lot* of golden hair for an asian man  )
I'm called panda/bear by a rather strange friend of mine.
And another nickname is pingu...don't understand what the obsession with animals is all about
    So what are yours???
    Answer:
I used to be called Tigger by my ex. It was quite appropriate at the time, I think, but it certainly doesn't suit me these days.
    g_k
    Answer:
You are a sexay kitten these days
    Answer:
Hm yes, sitting here in ancient trackie bottoms and a manky jumper - sex on a stick, moi! I am very catlike though in many ways, especially sleeping habits!
Oh, my office mate affectionately calls me "Skinny Girl" and someone else calls me "Onion Girl" (don't ask) but I'm not sure those are really nicknames ;)
    g_k
    Answer:
Mines Weenie, as if you couldn't guess and I'm called it by most of my friends and family! It sometimes changes to Weeniepops which is my Dads thing
Mr Weenies is PooperScoop or Knobface or Twat, depends on the mood really!

    George Jenssen?
Actually, Birmingham Jewellery quarter might be just what you need.
    Answer:
I think you should search out a jewellers that does vintage stuff. The couple of bits that my mum gave me are far nicer than anything new I could buy ;)
    Answer:
I would recommend that you go to a craft jeweller that makes individual pieces, you may even be able to commission a piece which will of course be totally unique. Although I do make jewllery in gold and silver but I still like to buy unusual pieces occasionally. One of my favourite makers is Donna Collinson, she sells mainly through carft fairs and galleries but you can get a limited number of her pieces on-line - just google her.

I am currently sat on my backside which feels like an old pillow, I have arms like a truck driver and my clothes are bursting at the seams. I lost a load of weight earlier on in the year but as soon as my backs turned it starts creeping up on me. I am panicking for summer.
Anyone else out there in the same situation? It would make me feel better to know that I am not alone.
    Answer:
I've got my winter layer of flab on - but i seem to naturally slim down during the summer and i eat more salad and less comfort warming food... I'm sure you will too :D
    Answer:
Yeah you're probably right. I need to get walking too. Since I've moved house and I know drive my girls to school, I've really noticed a difference.
    Answer:
Just going for a good walk every day or a swim will make a huge difference.
    Answer:
If it's any consolation I tried a dress on bare legged was horrified at the state of my thighs. Thank God the weather has turned a bit rubbish so I can still wear my opaques:(
I agree with Alybea as soon as it starts properly warming up salads light bites will be in order.
