Linen tousers and shrinking

Linen tousers and shrinking
Hi
i bought linen trousers from MS last year and they both shrunk in the leg despite being washed on wool cycle, They were very good and refunded both pairs but im still left with no linen trousers. I wondered if all linen trousers shrink and its best to buy them long or was I just unlucky?
Asha x
Answer:
My 2 pairs from Mango recommend hand wash. I don't trust the washing machine!!!
It's a pain scrubbing them by hand to get the dirt out of the hems though:rolleyes:
I leave them to soak with whitening tablets too for extra cleanliness.
I found that a pair had yellow staining on them despite being folded away clean at the end of summer - does anyone know why that happened?
Answer:
ah, handwashing, good idea, mine were black so wouldnt have been hard work. I do know why white things yellow but I cant remember!!! wedding dresses and chrsitening gowns do, sorry, I'm not much help am I !!
Answer:
I've always handwashed my linen trousers and they have been fine... even though the label says wash at 40 deg I still don't trust it as it's a natural fibre.
On a different note, I bought my linen mix troos from primark this year... identical to the ones I bought from river island for the past 2 years except 6 quid instead of 24!!!
I find linen blend much easier than linen, just as comfy etc. and much easier to iron.

Quick Q - do Primark sell..
I want one of those belts with a buckle like an airline seatbelt, cant think of the name but they slide to close! Before I head all the way to Reading has anyone seen them in a primark, and in what colours?
    Bun x
    Answer:
    Hi,
Can't remember seeing them in the womans section. They definatly have them in the mens section. Remember seeing them in black and like a patterned one.
    Sorry couldn't help more.
    Answer:
I think I know what you mean as I have two of these. One I bought from Primark but that was ages ago. I also bought one in H and M in Reading a few weeks ago for about £3. The clasp on the Primark one keeps falling off but the H and M clasp hasn't fallen off yet.
    Answer:
Hennes and Next have them in at the mo.

    Miss Selfridge ballet pumps
Didn't want to hijack the French Sole thread, and much as I'd love some gold French Sole ones, I really should get some cheaper ones - but not so cheap that they're painful! My local Topshop doesn't have any more ballet pumps, but just seen two girls wearing the Miss Selfridge ones, they're on the website, called 'Cassara Tulip Black Belt' and are £25. Just wondered if anyone else has these, not sure about the back bit that's a bit higher, would mostly wear them with jeans/trousers but this looks like it might be a bit uncomfortable...
    Ta x
    Answer:
I've just had a look at these and it looks like that high bit at the back you're fretting about is a fold-down bit so it makes the shoes slip on, but I reckon if you do wear them with the backs on they will be ok.
Thought I would just mention though that I remember fefe and a couple of other people here bought some nice ballet pumps from miss selfridge and the metallic coating flaked off and made the shoes look nasty unwearable. These aren't the same shoes, but I would be wary of buying them just because of this.
    Answer:
Thanks Yingers, I remember people saying about the coating flaking off too. Not sure if the Heat discount is still valid, but that might sway my decision ;)
    Answer:
I haven't seen the Miss Selfridge ones, but I had some from Faith last year for the same price, and they're still going strong, not sure what they've got in at the mo though. I haven't been in for ages as I don't have a Faith in my town :(
    Answer:
I think they look quite nice though... there's so many around at the moment maybe it's worth have a scour round for some instead of buying ones that you're not quite sure about?
I just bought my first metallicy ballet shoes... I've liked the look of them for a while now but haven't found any nice ones... i didn't really want silver and definitely not gold but hadn't seen any nice ones about. I know the ones I bought are good quality and are real comfortable so had to go for them... they are a really unusual dark metallic green/bronzy colour.

    Answer:
Try New Look, they had something similar in silver sequins.
ETA oops :o didn't see that part. They do see something like it in some though. Priceless shoes have that kind of thing, as does Peacocks although I'm not sure about silver.
    Answer:
I know you said you already looked here, but I got mine from new Look - £12. I :throb: them, really want them in gold as well, maybe leopard print too!
    Answer:
Try Barratts too - I got some from there (and gold too :p )
    Answer:
Miss Selfridge have some too - silver, gold or bronze!

Just won this skirt on ebay

and I was wondering what you guys thought might go well with it?
Ive already thought of just normal v neck tops and things, with boots and flip flops but just wondering if any of you had good ideas?
    Hazy x
    Answer:
I would go with some nice strappy types, matbe with a bit of lace detail on the neckline and a denim jacket and some cute flip-flops.
A nice wrap top with a top inside if that's too cold.
    Hope this helps!:)
    Answer:
I like gypsy skirts with cute fitted T shirts and pretty cardigans or a very simple vest, denim jacket, funky belt and ethnic flats or wedges and accessories. When it's colder, I also wear mine with a jumper, chunky belt and slouchy suede boots.
    Nice skirt, BTW!
    g_k
    Answer:
I think women look gorgeous in these floaty skirts - v sexy;)
I reckon you shoud wear a strappy vest top (if warm enough) in either white or black - or a nice fitted v neck skinny jumper. Don't ask me about shoes though - no idea.
