I have these 2 pairs of boots...

I have these 2 pairs of boots...
3 Attachment(s) ...in my possession but can't decide between them. The main reason I'm buying them is because I wanted something that wasn't knee high or ankle high, and something that will go best with a denim mini and a slouchy t.
The shorter ones are from River Island, the darker longer ones are from Faith, if you wanted to view a better pic on the website - my pics aren't that good unfortunately!
Also, any tips on how to make sure the outfit doesn't look 'tarty'?
Any preference ladies to help me out here? Legs are in desperate need of a tan BTW, and I could do wtih a new darker denim mini!!
Cheers :D
Answer:
I don't like either pair with the mini, sorry :( I have an aversion to denim minis plus heeled/pointy boots, I'm not sure if it's possible for it to not look tarty. I think flat boots and tights would be better, some like these perhaps, which are calf length like you want:

Answer:
I agree with naz hun sorry
The second pair naz posted are FAB! I have them in tan and they look gorgeous with shorts and skirts!! Good taste Naz!! ;)
Answer:
i think you could make it work, but you are really going to need some (opaque) tights to avoid a look that i think can verge on the 'street walker'.
currently there is too much of a difference between the colour of your legs, and the boots, which emphasises the shortness of the skirt, and the length of the boots...
personally perhaps slouchier, flat boots or flip flops would look better - although that is probably not the look you are after... sorry!
Answer:
sorry but i'm not keen on either
love the barratts ones naz posted, or how about searching ebay for a pair of vintage boots

    Oh I can't... can I???
The business for second hand luxury heres has really grown in the time since I was last in Hong Kong... the 'station' group of shops (Milan Station, Paris Station, France station, etc) have possibly tripled since last year and some of them even sell second had designer clothes and shoes. I think there is now a small chain of a copycat company called VIP stationm, but their bags aren't as good and alot more expensive.
Anyways, I have been lusting after the red luella baby gisele for months now, maybe even about a year... and what did I find in the shops the other day... but the exact bag I thought I would never get hold of... and it really is as gorgeous as I'd always imagined.
The only trouble is, it's current resale value is actually more than it's RRP when they were on sale in the UK. I suppose there is definitely a bargaining factor if I paid cash upfront (which I don't think will be possible for me as my funds are running out fast) and also if I buy it I will probably be skint for the next 5 months...
 oh this can't be happening!!!
    Answer:
ooooh I sympathise :) If you buy it you'll feel guilty, if you don't you don't be able to stop thinking about it!!!!
    Answer:
Maybe blow your cash on stuff you can flog when you get back to the UK instead?
Dunno though, depends how much you want it and if you still want it as much as you did.
I am getting very jealous the more I hear about the HK shopping spree!
    Answer:
Yeah... that's exactly it mitchey... I'm even still sitting here thinking about it now and it keeps churning in my head how much I want it, yet feel a bit sick about how much I would have to sacrifice to pay for it.
PBs... everything in HK as sooo cheap atm... I bought these lovely beaded belt/scarf things the other day for about a pound each and all I could think about at the time was how much they would cost back home and if it was worth getting dozen or so to flog on ebay for a tenner or something!
I also bought such a gorgeous necklace today for about 3.50 quid, which would easily sell back home for about a score... how I wish I could down load pics on me bro's soddin' pc to show you all the stuff i'm getting!!!
Mind you, everytime I get back from HK with my suitcase full of new garms I begrudge going to the shops back home for months, not only cos I don't need to buy anything for the time being, but because everything is up to 10x more expensive in the UK!
    Answer:
Oooo....'tis awful when that happens, I know!
But I wouldn't get it. Me, advising someone not to get something? Shocking! But I know from experience than when I spend a lot of money on one item and am totally skint for months as a result that I probably suffer more from that than I enjoy the expensive thing, if you get my meaning! If you're sure that that wouldn't be the case, then go for it, of course!

    perhaps these?

    Brown?
Please help! (p.s i don't like cowboy boots!)
    thanks girlies
    Answer:
    oh and ...
    p.s
what top would you wear with it?
I should have thought about this before purchasing!
    Answer:
    Well, it's a lovely skirt.
For tops, I'd wear something close-fitting and plain - a simple vest and ethnic accessories or a pretty cardi or shrug say. A T-shirt or light-weight jumper would look nice too. I'd go for colours similar to those in the skirt or soft flesh-toned neutrals.
For footwear - wedges, flat sandals or pumps. Neutral colours would look fine, as would sage greens, blues or gold. I *think* the shoes you posted may look OK, but I'm not 100% - the first pair look a bit light perhaps and the second may not quite be the right style - I'd need to see everything together.
    Hope that helps!

will be bidding on the shoes anyway as they'll go with my jeans etc... if they don't go, i'll just have to buy another pair! what a shame! may wear the skirt on holiday with flip flops.

Nah - I'm pretty sure they'll be the 6 basic ones they always have! I think that shoudl be enough though! I reckon I'll go for something in chiffon, with a bit of colour and embellishment!

    should I worry?
I saw a really nice 3/4 length cord coat the other day... I tried it on out of interest and it ended up looking really nice and it was a bargain at about 20 quid.
The trouble is, where it was ok on the arms and on the back, when I buttoned it up if fit just right around my waist area and was a bit tight around the chest.
It was a HK small so I was totally not expecting it to fit me at all as they had no more sizes left. My SiL reckoned it looked ok and would be fine if I didn't do it up... i'm just thinking I was wearing a thin-ish t-shirt underneath and in case of practicality, I would have been safer with the next size up.
What do you reckon? I reckon it will be a great coat to wear in the spring-summer time where i'd wear it unbuttoned anyway, but without that option, i'm not entirely sure I'm comfortable about that.
    Answer:
I've done this before and TBH I reckon you'd be best off not getting it - there have been so many times I've compromised and got something "almost right" only to see a much better version of it or else something I REALLY want after that - then I'm kicking myself for spending the money on something that was less-than-perfect!

Nah, I'd leave it as Kelda says. You can put that £20 towards a coat that is a 100% good fit. If you have any doubts, don't buy it: that's my golden rule for shopping and it has helped stop me buy stuff that ends up in the charity bag all too soon.
Hope you are having a good time, BTW!
    Answer:
I have a jacket that I can't do up over my bust and I wear it all the time when the weather is warmer. As long as it doesn't look as though it won't do up (mine will if I breath in but it just looks pulled) then get it. I hardly ever do coats up anyway!!
    Answer:
Thanks guys, the coat was lovely and I haven't seen anything like it before... my SiL also said that it looked great... so I think i'm going to go for a second opinion later today... the shop is only down the road. The buttons do do up at the chest but only just... maybe I could do with losing a few lbs :o !!!
I agree that I could put the money to better use, but if I didn't go back I'd just keep thinking about it.
I think if I tried it on a second time I will know for sure... and you never know, they might have got some more in!
