Places to shop in London - not Oxford Street

Places to shop in London - not Oxford Street
I am a slave to Oxford Street, but feel that I should venture into pastures new. Can anyone suggest other shopping areas, in London? With the exception of Regent Street, Covent Garden etc. Is Hampstead any good? Or do I have to have loads of dosh? I am looking for variety and a flexible price range! I guess I am looking for another Oxford Street, but not Oxford Street - if you get my meaning
cheers;)
Answer:
Hello
I find most of the high streets end up being the same but there are some nice places round high street kensington and chelsea - same chain stuff like monsoon, oasis etc but its slightly less busy. Hampstead is so so - i never get anything there that i couldnt get in Selfridges etc plus the street always seems so small in comparison again to Oxford St! I tend to go round West London more just because its the same shops but less busy
Answer:
Brompton Cross is my favourite stamping ground.
Answer:
If you've got a whole day, my favourite route is to start in Nottinghill / Westbourne Grove (Portobello if it's Friday or Saturday) then get the 52 bus to High Street Kensington (10 mins) which has almost everything you could want including new Reiss and All saints stores followed by another 52 trip (10 mins) to Knightsbridge for Harvey Nicks and Harrods.

Answer:
I like Marylebone High Street (plus its very near Oxford Street so if you REALLY want something that Marylebone can't offer you can duck into Oxford Street).

    Some (more?) questions about Primark
What are primark's jeans like? I'm guessing they won't be very good as I've never heard anything good about them. I like my jeans to be low on the hips.
I'm just wondering, because a few months ago I got a really nice pair of "going out" jeans for £12 from Mkone - low rise, dark, with a wide belt waistband. This was after trying on about 6 terrible pairs beforhand.
Is it possible to find this sort of unsuspected jeans bargain in Primark?
Another question .. How do their bras fit? Not the basic kind but the more lacey pretty stuff. I'm a bit wary of those sort of cheap bras. I bought a really pretty bra and knickers set from Dorothy Perkins, but it makes my breasts pointy!
I suppose I could try them on, but I rarely try tops and bras on. Such a chore.
Thanks. Waiting to hear from all the primark experts here
    Answer:
you really do need to try them on. I got a great pair of casual jeans and they fit really well. On the other hand some of the ones that have stretch in them can be really long in the crotch area.
    Answer:
I think the jeans are great for my figure and I haven't bought jeans from anywhere else for years. I buy the ones with a bit of stretch and they're fab and last for ages and ages. I'm wearing a pair at the moment that I've had for a least a year and apart from being a bit faded they're still OK. Fantastic value for money.
The bras, for me, are another story. I'm a size 34DD/34E so they hardly have any in my size anyway, but if they do they're not the right shape, they're not rounded enough if you seen what I mean. Also the sizing is a bit wonky, my Mum bought some Primark bras in 2 different sizes but when she measured them they were exactly the same size!
I think the moral is that you have to try things on and not just go by the size on the hanger.
    Answer:
my fave jeans are from primark, but you have to get the right ones - they're not the usual style, they're more like softer topshop mooch jeans. The pockets are square, they're low rise with wide but close fitting legs (I know  ). They were £12 and they're more comfortable and better fitting than any other jeans I've ever had - not to mention they look divine.
    Buy! Buy! Buy!
    You won't regret it ;)
    Answer:
Thanks everyone for your replies ...
I guess I'll have to try everything on - but at least I know there's some hope at least of me getting a nice pair of jeans.
I'm so angry because I bought 2 pairs of jeans from Miss Selfridge - both under 6 months old, and the waistband (is that what you call it - where the belt loops are) has ripped off of one, wheras the other pair have shrunk in length and are now ankle swingers - I know I haven't grown

i was wondering whether i would trip up in it ! i think you may be able to tie those bits round but im not sure
    Answer:
I can see you could probably tie it up - is it a wrap cardigan? What i also meant was that the cardi itself and sleeves look long and it's drapey round the neck... I personally prefer something with a bit more shape... that one looks a little fussy but that could be the way it has been modelled.
I'm more of a fitted or shorter cardi sort of person myself.
    Answer:
i think its a nice cardy! i think idt look lovely with skinny jeans boots in the winter!!! reallly cute!!

Hello! Can anyone tell me where I can get AF clothes in the UK/London?
I know you can buy them via their website et but wasn't sure how much duty I'd be charged etc.
Does anyone know a site/shop that stock it here?
    Thanks,
    CC:)
    Answer:
I've only seen very very limited stock available in Republic stores, which has only been a few tees or track jackets... nothing like what you can get in the US.
    Answer:
Just if you do decide to order from the US website, you'll probably be charged about a third of the value of the goods in duties. That's what happened to me when I ordered from Victoria's Secret.
