Comfy shoes to wear with skirts! Help!
I am normally a jeans person, but I have decided to branch out and have bought two skirts! The only thing is, I have no idea what shoes to wear with them.
One is a mid-calf length full skirt in a gorgeous dark bluey-green colour from topshop, which fastens at the side with buttons. It doesn't appear to be on the website or I would say which one it was. The material is quite soft and light and floaty.
The second is a black and white mad flower print skirt from HM which comes to just below my knee and is quite fitted to mid-thigh ish i suppose, and then has little tier sort of things. The material is a stiffer cotton.
I've got a pair of flat black shoes but they are too chunky with the skirts, I think I need something more delicate. I can't really do heels (although a small wedge would probably be manageable) and my feet hate shoes so they would need to be really comfy! Also I'd rather something that covered my toes.
What kind of style do you think would go with these two skirts? Do you think I should go for a pretty colour like a turquoise or something? Black seems so harsh, although nearly all my clothes are black and the topshop skirt is a dark colour, so I don't want white or anything too pale.
Please help! I am totally clueless when it comes to shoes!

There was a thread recently about what to wear with gypsy skirts which had some good ideas.
Khussas or ballet pumps sound like the way to go for you - they're delicate and pretty but flat and usually v. comfy! There are loads everywhere at the mo - New Look, Topshop, etc. Have you thought about getting some metallic colours? Silver or gold are really versatile (you can pretty much treat them as neutrals) and look good with dark or light colours. I think either colour would go with your TS skirt, but silver might perhaps look better with the HM one - depends what you wear on top though.

Littlemissy, we might have had this conversation before but I think I have your H M skirt! Does it have a bit of light pink on it too?
If so, mine goes really well with a pair of light pink kitten heels I got a while back.
I'm also planning to wear it with some wedge sandals with ankle straps as soon as the weather gets more bearable.

Thanks for your help :)
I've checked that other thread but all the suggestions seem to be sandals, which although they are really pretty, would expose far too much of my foot for my liking, especially at this time of year!
Silver shoes are a bit scary for me because they're not a 'normal' colour and I'm quite unadventurous! But I shall definitely try some on.
Pandoraboxes - no it doesn't have any pink in it, though that sounds nice! I do have some kitten heels that would probably look pretty and I might try that for evening, but I can't do kitten heels all day, I'm quite wobbly on them and also keep having to get them re-heeled which is a pain!
Stupid Question re Collars

Stupid Question re Collars
This might sound like a really stupid question, but thought I would take the plunge and just ask anyway……..
When wearing a suit with a shirt, is there a ‘correct’ way of wearing the collars? Should they be in or out?
I’m going to a meeting soon at a really stuffy place and don’t want to show myself up. I know it doesn’t really matter, just wondered if there was a ‘right’ way.
Thanks a very paranoid misses x

Answer:
I always wear my collar over my jacket (i.e. out!). I think it looks smarter that way and adds a subtle hint of femininity. I've no idea if this is the recommended way of wearing it, but I wore it like that to job interviews and did OK!

Answer:
I always keep the collars in, can't stand wearing them out. I think its more of a masculine look to keep the collars in and collars out are more feminine like g_k said. But i'm sure it wont make a difference, just wear them how your most comfortable.
Answer:
in in in! :)
Answer:
I wear them out for suit jackets and in for heavier weight jackets and coats that I'm not going to be wearing all day.
too much?
NO.3. ask :
too much?
hello.
what do you think of this dress for my friend's wedding in the summer? i absolutely adore it, but do you think its a bit too much for a wedding? i would go very subtle with accessories, was thinking pewter/silver or if i could find a toning blue (not all of those colours together btw, and i haven't got as far as looking for shoes/bag etc)
Also...(and i hope the answer is yes because i cannot go bra-less unfortunately) ...... are there bras around that would allow for the open fronted-ness of the dress?

Now I know Kate M has been wearing things like this for years but I have decided I must have a pair.
Am off to Egypt in May (HURRAH) and picture wearing them with tatty denim mini or cropped jeans and one of a selection of cotton kaftans I have.
Have seen the most divine pair in Nine West and am thinking I might nip out and buy them right now. What do we think? Fashio victim or funky?
Answer:
i think with a white kaftan and a tatty denim skirt they would look GORGEOUS.
Answer:
Still funky. There are a couple of threads milling about on them. They've been spotted in Office too.
Answer:
Still funky, especially with the right clothes, although it might be an idea to avoid these...

Wallis
NO.5. ask :
Wallis
I went in there yesterday after seeing a pretty dress in the window and saw they had a sale on. So I managed to find 4 tops I like and went to try them on, I was so shocked at the quality. Every single one of them was either coming apart at the seems or the zip was badly put in or there was loose stiching everywhere.
I thought Wallis(while aimed at the 28-40 market) was of better quality than the other brands like DP's and Miss Selfridges?
Wow. Are there any other shops that are as bad quality than this ?
Answer:
all of the arcadia shops seem to have gone downhill in quality imo.
i recently had a spree at bluewater round dp, wallis, miss selfridge, topshop warehouse as i've get 25% off in them all, and it was honestly the most depressing shopping trip i have ever been on.
i reluctantly got two skirts, one silk one from ts and a linen mix one from dp but it was more out of sheer desperation and not wanting to go home empty handed.
