Summer Sandals

NO.1. Ask :
Summer Sandals
Hello,
I would like some brown leather thong sandals preferabley with a very slight heel for the summer. I've seen some 'bestoned' (rather than bejewlled Miu Miu ones which I like, but they seem a bit uncomfortable around the toe post. Skinny ankles and muscley calves rule out ankle straps, so I just wondered if people had any suggestions.

Answer:
hmmm - they have some in office with a kitten heel - they've copied the jimmy choo thong styling of the oval loop - do you know what I mean?
Answer:
I think I know what you mean, but I think I want something a bit 'bigger' if you know what I mean...... I'll try and find a piccie of the Miu Mius.

    Metallic Shoes
I have a pair of beautiful gold snakeskin-ish metallic sandals that I bought from Karen Millen a couple of years ago.... They are looking a little bit tired now and I was wondering whether anyone knew whether I could spray/dye them to freshen them up a little bit?
They are a metallic leather if that helps at all.
Hope you can help (as always!):)
    Answer:
you can buy metallic shoe polish. i have some gold/bronze shoes bought some darkish gold polish it works a treat. it's not a perfect match, but it's only covering up the scuffed bits, and these particular shoes look a bit better with a distressed look about them anyway.
i guess with the snakeskin it wouldn't matter if the colour wasn't a perfect match either, as it'd blend in more to certain bits than others.
you might just have to search around a few different cobblers to see what they stock. mine is an old-school type of place that stocks all sorts of weird wonderful things. some of the chains (eg. timpsons) might not have it, but keep searching, it can be found :)

    Ebay Sellers/Buyers
I have loads of stuff (particularly jewellery, bags and accessories) that I could sell on ebay but to me the thought of doing the photies and marketing blurb and all the emailing to and fro then posting everything off is just offputting. Surely it's very timeconsuming? Does anyone here do it as a living?
I read in the FT a few months ago that there is this agency in the UK now that does your stuff for you and takes commission. Is there anyone on here that has considered doing that? People who buy and sell a lot for example? That would be just what I need.
    Answer:
Yeah, I've heard of an agency in particular that sells mainly designer stuff... think it begins with an S but I really can't remember their name.
I haven't sold anything on ebay for about a year now... but when I did, I prepared all my photos in advance and did a text template in word, so this speeded things up quite alot for me.
I know what you mean though about getting someone else to take all the hassle away, but personally I would begrudge losing 20% or so when I could be keeping that myself and taking a little time over it. I just depends on how much you value your time against your items I suppose.
    Answer:
I have sold a few bits and bobs before and don't find it takes up too much of my time. It takes a little while to upload all the photo's and write decriptions etc. but once that is done just a case of waiting till the auction ends and answering the occasional question. Then posting the goods when the person has paid.
I agree with what Yingers said , i would rather do it myself than give a percentage of the sale to someone else.
    Answer:
I keep telling myself I will take a week to ten days or so off from work and do it all then, from start to sales to posting all the things. But, like most things, it is getting started that is the hardest, and it's usually the thought of it that puts you off - once you get going its okay. And I have a job with strange hours. I work most nights and I work out in the field so I would have to do it all over weekends or late at night and it seems a bit much.
Maybe I should start slowly and do all the hard work over one of the long weekends coming up. That would be an idea!
    Thanks guys

Lying to OH about how much you spend
Does anyone on here ever do the woman thing (according to men I have spoken to anyway) of cutting what they paid for something down to make it sound like a bargain? Or hide their purchases?
Don't get me wrong, I am not in debt and hounded by creditors or anything (I don't have a credit card so I can't spend money I don't have)but I get embarrassed at buying so many heres and jewellery that I often hide them and pretend I have had them for ages, or say things were on sale. I never used to do it - mind you I never saw the lovely things that people post on here and it appears I am very suggestible!!!!!
Every month I go crazy round about payday and then really have to scrimp for the rest of the month and I never used to be like that...:o :o

Do you know how many times I have been caught trying to smuggle stuff in!!! I also do the old trick of hiding stuff, wearing it months later and when hubby asks if it's new, I say (honestly) "I've had it ages"
I have also been know to remove tags off items. I have a £300 suit in the wardrobe unworn for 4 years.....
    :o
    Answer:
    I don't know a woman who doesn't.
Even though my o.h. likes me to look nice, we can afford it and I don't have expensive tastes anyway. Weird.
    Answer:
    Of course not...........!!
No I do a bit, but since we're not married and don't share a bank account it's frankly none of his business. He finds it really amusing that I buy so many clothes, but he's into fashion as well so understands what things cost.
I do blur the truth a bit when I am claiming I'm skint or if I owe him money for bills, but my general attitude is that I work very hard for my money and I'll enjoy it whilst I can before a mortgage and kids change my priorities.
Apart from my student loans I'm not in debt and I don't shop on credit.
If I was doing either of those things I may well start lying through my teeth!!

    Answer:
To be honest, I really don't like them, I think they look cheap and the kind of thing Colleen would wear.
    Very unflattering too.
    Answer:

looks a bit market-ish to me ;)

It wouldn't be tooooo bad if it wasn't velour, but because it is, I'd have to say no, though there is what I think is a much nicer one from Oasis if you like that sort of thing...
