What perfume do you wear?

NO.1. Ask :
What perfume do you wear?
I know this should probably be in Beauty, but I wanted to hear what the fashionistas 'wear'!
I get ecsema so I don't use an awful lot which means I seem to accumulate bottles, but rarely finish them.
At the moment I have and use ........
Marc Jacobs original
Marc Jacobs Blush
Michael Kors
Vivienne Westwood Boudoir
L'Artisan Parfumier Fig
Jo Malone Red Roses
Jo Malone Orange Blossom
Space NK Soulful
Benefit Maybe Baby

I am thinking of buying the Aqua Di Parma violet one as well.

Answer:
I like quite flowery perfumes
Mademoiselle by Chanel - my all time fav!
Manifesto by Isabella Rossellini - for daytime and summer, as it's so light and fresh
Glamourous by Ralph Lauren for nights out as it's a bit heavier
Answer:
I don't wear perfume that much, but when I do its marc jacobs (the original)
Aside from the standard bottle, I've got a few of the little bottles that come in the little white leather zipped box thingy which I love :D
Answer:
Oooh I really love Mademoiselle and also Coco, but I have been forbidden from buying any more!
I used to wear the Helmut Lang one about 3 years ago and I love the mens' one, but I seem to be very fickel about scents!

I have spent all my free time this week making myself a dress to wear on Saturday night at my birthday gathering, I've finally finished it (just) and I'm just a bit blah:( It's a cute dress and I will wear it in the sun, but it's just that - a sun dress - nothing special to wear on your birthday:cmdunno:
So now, I'm feeling yukky and a bit stressed at what I am going to wear and just needed a bit of a moan:knees: :boohoo:
Anyone seen any beautiful but kitsch dresses I can buy by Saturday??
    Answer:
Aww dots, have a hug  I know what it's like. I stress about my birthday dress every year (as many baggers must now remember!)
What kind of thing are you after? What are your plans for the day?
And what's the dress like? Is there a way it can be tweaked and made a bit dressier/special? Like a ribbon belt or an underskirt in a contrasting shade? It'd be nice to wear the dress you made, as no one else'll be in it sundress-wearing-opportunities should be made the most of while they're still about!
I know that whatever you end up choosing you will look fab dots, so don't stress too much.
I'm not sure if they'll be too casual but I really liked the short HM dress on you and some of the Yumi tunic dresses have been catching my eye this evening:

It's not *quite* the kind of thing I'm after, though I'm sure it's nice on some occasions!
Naz, it's navy blue cotton with tiny white deer silhouettes on it, I'll attach a (not very clear) picture, it's not hemmed so looks a bit long and it's ruched at the bust which you can't really see. I've got a ribbon around it, tried it with lots of different shoes but I'm just not feeling it as a party dress.:cmdunno: The plan is a meal with friends but it is possible that we will end up in a club, so it has to be suitable for dancing if it happens and my friends all are fashionista glamour pusses so I need to look fab!
Thanks for all the links, there are some nice things there and I will definitely be checking out TS tomorrow. I've admired the fever dresses in shops before but they are just that bit too short for me to wear bare legged and they would look wrong with tights I think. I might go for a bright tights and my blue platforms with something like the H+M dress again, I did like that outfit...
I'm gonna go do some emergency shopping tomorrow, I probably do have something in my wardrobe, but I just want something shiny and new:boohoo:

    NO.5. ask :
Oh no it's the poncho thing all over again!
I knew it would only be a matter of time! I just seen someone wearing a gypsy skirt with a nasty nylon suit jacket, white shirt and black court shoes. She's slightly older (I don't want to appear ageist but I'm of the opinion that the whole gypsy boho (shudder) thing is generally more suited to the under 40s and she'll never see 50 again). I mean why wear a gypsy skirt when the rest of your outfit is more conservative than Maggie Thatcher?! I just don't get it?!
This thing happened with ponchos didn't it - people who would never normally wear anything like that wearing it just because it's "in fashion" and with the most inappropriate things.
I know I'll probably get shouted at for being ageist and saying why can some people wear things and other people can't but if you're going to wear "the latest thing" at least wear it well!!!
    *legs it out of forum*
    Answer:
I think you have a point...but, there are some very glamourous more mature ladies who probably could wear the latest thing very well. It's more the whole one fashion on top half, another on the bottom that sounds so bad.
Cheap suit jackets have their place, but not with nice floaty summery skirts!
    Answer:
You're dead right - there are, but sadly she aint one of 'em! And yes, the one half one look, one half another was my main point. How can anyone think that looks good?!
    Answer:
I shudder in horror at the recollection of a woman I saw weraing a white poncho over a black trouser suit...
However, I can kind of sympathise with the poor people who have to wear suits to work everyday which doesn't allow much room for individual fashion and style. Fortunately I'm not one of them!
    Answer:
they're all out today - i'm sitting in my office, staring out at the lunch crew and its gypsy skirt ahoy!! best one i've seen so far is a crinkle satin one, in emerald green, with converse trainers and a .... white formal looking shirt. ahem!
i do love gypsy skirts but i'm afraid it does begin to dissipate when you see the whole world and it's mother/grandmother wearing them!
and if you want to see gypsy skirt overkill, just have a look in your local primark!
