What to wear with
my corset. Its really stunning, I bought it ages and ages ago and its a forest green satin with black velvet laces. Its handmade and really suits my colouring.
But I'd really really like to wear it out and I just don't know what to wear it with.
I've also got a wedding to go to this summer where my t**tty ex-boyfriend will be there along with some really nasty girls who think they're so superior so I'd like to wear that because it makes me look impressive and lovely but I don't know what to wear it with, a skirt would be good but a long one would look too gothy for a summer wedding and I don't know what colour would be good ?
Has anyone got any idea's or even pictures that I could use as a base point? I bow down to the Fashion Gods of here and await their brilliant ideas :)
Answer:
i normally wear mine with jeans but saw in Lucia Sulllas?? (know ive spelt it wrong) new video she was wearing it with a layered skirt which looks very nice.
I dont know whether you have the same trouble as me but i have trouble sitting down in mine so it might not be a best idea to wear it for a wedding.
Answer:
I'm wearing something similar with a linen trouser suit for a wedding. Not got any pictures though but hope this helps.
Answer:
I was going to suggest wearing it with a suit! I saw someone do that a few years ago at a friend's wedding and she looked stunning. Having said that, it was in the middle of winter - I'm not sure it would work in the summer so well. I could see one in pale colours working with a light suit, but I don't know about emerald green.
The best colours with emerald in my (very) humble view are other rich jewel colours, metallics, black (not that TS would approve) and denim. Brown or beige might work at a pinch.
Can't really help with skirts, I'm afraid - my instinct would be to go for a long skirt to balance out the top (if it's strapless) or possibly something knee-length and fishtailed/layered/swirly if it's got shoulder straps.
g_k
Answer:
I'd say definately a well cut trouser suit with killer heels and a skinny scarf - keep your jewellery to a minimum as corsets dont need too much fuss.
I'm sure you will look stunning.. happy outfit hunting!

pls advise - may look like wolly!!
Hi, i dont normally post in fashion but would really be thankful of some suggestions advice.
Going on a bit girly night tonight and have outfit all sorted.....black floaty skirk with pretty embroidary (sp?) around the waist band, with a black plain sleevless, loose fitting, v neck with rugged edges (god terrible decsription :o ). To jazz it a bit - v black i know, i was thinking of added a new broach i bought. Its circlar, about the size of a golf ball, green, amber and blue stones, its gorg!! Anyway, was just after some suggestions of how i could wear it?
was thinking maybe twisting the t-shirt at tummy level, off center, towards side, and pinning it there. Would also make t-shirt a bit tighter and dressy???
Pls tell me if you think this idea is totally stupid and i will be the laughing stock of the club???!!
Hope the description makes SOME sense!!
Answer:
I think that sounds really cool!
Answer:
Thanks Supercat, im not really v adventurous with fashion but really fancied trying something a bit new for me, if you get what i mean.
Answer:
I do know what you mean!
I think it would look really nice twisted to one side and pinned.
Right, all this talk of shoes and shorts ...
NO.4. ask :
Right, all this talk of shoes and shorts ...
I'm off shopping :D My concentration levels have ground to a resounding halt so I am off to Oxford Circus!
Plan to investigate:
Wedges - although I saw a nice pair of thong wedges in New Look last night and they were only £12 - didn't have my size though
Choc brown flip flops of some description
Some round toe heels.
Knee length shorts if they suit me and I don't look like my mother in them! (not that my mother looks bad you understand, just I identify knee length tailored shorts with the summer looked she has sported for the last 20 years or so!)
Answer:
Lol Betty - have fun and spend a fortune!

Answer:
let me know if you find any flattering shorts and I'll buy them too !!
I have the same reservations as you although I have worn knee-length flary shorts when I was at Uni (in australia where its hot and so people wear shorts all the time so not a dorky fashion period or anything...) - they were basically like tailored wide leg trousers but hemmed at the knee - OK in a preppy way.
Answer:
Go to topshop!
good selection of shorts and shoes at the mo - I'd recommend the ones mimi and I have and also reiss - lots of shorts in great lengths. For a shorts virgin I'd recommned the black loose ish turn up ones which are just below the knee or if you want to be a bit more daring the one's that sit just above the knee with a crease down the front! (both from Reiss)
Answer:
Back!
And I got the loosish linen ones from Reiss in a kind of soft brown/beige colour - they come just below the knee and I think* I really like them.
I also got a pair of round toe, heeled camel Maryjanes from Topshop.
*Think at the moment as I really liked them in the shop, but when I got home and tried them on again Mr BF said they looked like plus fours and middle-aged so I am now in an agony of indecision and need female opinion!
leather gloves
NO.5. ask :
leather gloves
Can anyone suggest where I could get some nice leather (funky but stylish) gloves? In the midst of the rain and sleet this morning, I managed to lose one hand! It was freezing...and the second time I have managed to lose the same hand.
Cheers
Answer:
I always end up in John Lewis for stuff like this. It's also probably the only place that will have them at this time of year.
Answer:
There are some pale pink and some minty green leather gloves in the next sale online....
Answer:
thank you
Answer:
They were doing some nice pretty good value leather gloves in New Look and Dotty P's a couple of months ago... but I wouldn't know if they still have them... perhaps in the sale?
