Can I still wear my too-big skirt?
I've got a really nice long black skirt from Per Una that I got a couple of years ago and I LOVE! However, I think I must've lost weight since buying it because I can now pull it off without undoing the zip, which I'm sure wasn't the case before! It gapes a little bit around my waist but it's not so big that it falls off as I walk around. However, I am worried about pulling it off if I trip on the hem on the stairs or something!
I was just wondering if it would still be possible to wear it if I put a big belt around the top to kinda hold it there? I hope so! If so, what kind of belt would be good? I don't have many belts that do the job a belt should do, the few I do have are little decorative ones!
thanks :)

Answer:
Have you tried belting it to stop your worry of it falling down? I'd still wear it personally but not with a top that was hugely fitted at the waist, so the gaping bit was hidden.
:)
Answer:
What's the style of the waistband like? Maybe you could pop a few discreet darts in to make it fit?
Answer:
The waistband is just a band of cotton, the same material as the rest of the skirt. It's about 1.5in deep. The skirt does up with a zip at the back, there's no buttons or anything.
To be honest I wouldn't have a clue how to go about putting darts in! Do you think that would work better than a belt? How easy is it to do?! :)

A bit harder with a waistband verus a skirt with just a facing waistband. It means you will have to unpick the waistband at the points you are putting the darts in then cut and re-sew the waistband. It's not hard - just faffy.
You just wouldn't dare....

I just wondered what outfits / items you would love to be able to 'pull off' - but you don;t think you could get away with.....
To give an example I'd love to be able to wear this dress, which I think is great, but I just don't think I could do it.....
Answer:
What is that dress made of? It looks like a paper rubber sort of thing.
IMHO its a godsend you aren't wearing it!!
No offence, but dont like it!
Answer:
I don't like it either, looks like it's made from white leather, not good.
Where's it from?

It has to be with that seduction face she's putting on!
Accessorising black?

Accessorising black?
I've just bought a gorge black silk dress from DKNY -it's strappy and a bit "flapper" style, as it has layers of silk with tiny jet beads on...dead pleased with it.
However, what shoes/jewellery should I wear? I really don't want to wear black sandals or brightly coloured as both don't look right....I thought gold shoes may look nice, but gold jewellery does nothing for me...
any help would be appreciated!
Answer:
Dress sounds lovely! I love these kind of dresses
How about going for full 20's style and getting t-bar sandals and knotting beads? Sorry, can't help much on the colours... I'm a bit hungover still not functioning properly :sniffles:
Answer:
I'd prob go for silver shoes and silver/white gold jewellery. Notihng too garish in terms of pendants. Something classy and elegant.
You could go for earrings with a different coloured gemstone on them (again silver/white gold) to add a bit of detail.
What colouring are you?
Answer:
My first thought was silver but it might be a bit too stark - how about a bronzey colour? There's a fair bit of that coloured jewellery around at the moment too.
The dress sounds gorgeous btw!!
Answer:
I like the idea of bronze accessories...
I'm medium skin tone with brown eyes and dark red hair (v long and curly).
No no no!! (Lola Jeans)

I ripped my favorite pair of jeans today, noo! =( (the Lola ones from TS)
I've only had them for about a year too!
Does anyone know if TS still sells them? I know they only seel them in the dark colour now, mine were the pale ones.
Answer:
No useful advice and sorry to hear about your jeans... but I think darker jeans look better than pale ones... buy them anyway!
Answer:
Try ebay for replacements x
Answer:
Yeah thanks =)
I do like the dark ones too, though two of my friends have those. I might just get them anyway, they were most flattering jeans I have owned.
Long tops?!
NO.5. ask :
Long tops?!
Hey I am cursed with quite big hips and evil love handles (damn genes). I have recently found a pair of lost jeans, which are absolutly gorgous apart from that lovely roll of fat hanging over it ewwwww:eek: even though i'm size 8 grrrr
I have a couple of long tops which cover this travesty, but was wondering where else can i buy some long tops/vests??? I have a couple from Topshop which are quite loose apart from the band at the bottom. I would quite like some tightish tops, which are long, to cover my roll, and reach about haveway down my bum!
Any ideas?!?!?!?
Thank u

Answer:
How about a wrap dress? Loads of these about at moment, and they can look funky over jeans
Answer:
true true, and i do have one. But i was thinking something more casual, like a vest or something of the sort, but cant find any grrrr!!
Answer:
I got a set of 5 'tall' vest from freemans catalogue for £25.
I'm sure topshop do longer vests in the tall section as do dorothy perkins. I may have even seen them on their websites :)
Answer:
Saw quite a few long vest tops in Zara today which would hide love handles but still show off some figure.
