filing a buyer claim on ebay
i won an item on ebay 3 weeks ago, and paid in full, and still have not recieved the item. (its only going from london to dublin so it shouldnt take that long) i have emailed the buyer on a daily basis looking for an update on the item, but he has refused to contact me in any way since i paid for the item. what should i do? should i file a buyer claim? has anyone ever done this?
Answer:
Yep, I've done this before.
If you're getting no reply to emails, then definately file a claim. If nothing else, it might kick-start the seller into responding as they will receive a warning from ebay, and you can always close the claim if everything gets resolved.
Did you pay by paypal? If so you can do a chargeback and get your money back (provided they have got money in their account) - I think this happens automatically when you start an "item not received" claim, and paypal nearly always side with the buyer (this is what happened with me, I got my money back through paypal).
This kind of thing is happening more and more on ebay, and the ebay community forum is really helpful - you will see LOADS of similar threads on there if you need more advice!!!
I'm a seller as well as a buyer and I ALWAYS contact my buyers straight away, 3 weeks is a bit much when you paid immediately.
Really hope you get this sorted, feel free to PM me if I can help in any way!

I had to do this recently, and filed an 'Item not received' claim. The seller still didn't respond. So I emailed Customer Service direct, and told them they were facilitating theft if they allowed this person to continue trading (they hadn't offered insurance). I then gave the person bad feedback stating I'd paid and hadn't received it. Lo and behold, they then emailed to say that the item had been returned to them, and if I withdrew my feedback they'd send it. So I replied and said that I would withdraw my feedback (via square trade) WHEN I received my items. they mailed to say they were sending them today.
keep pushing and good luck!

thanks girls for your advice. i emailed the seller telling him he had 24 hours to respond to my email with information on the whereabouts of my item. if he didnt i would file a claim. i also left negative feedback.
this guy is a power seller with 99.9% positive feedback. i dont know why he's messing me around :(
Answer:
Maybe somethings happened.
I didn't hear from this one seller for ages ( I dont do ebay anymore but when I did ) I had paid upfront via paypal and didn't hear anything for a month.
Then I had an email saying he was in hospital with kidney problems. I know it may be a one off but maybe somethign liekl that has happened with your seller, Imean if he is a power seller with 99.9% feedback thats wierd. so you have a phone number? Could always try that :)

Need decent top/shoes for PR event..!
Argh!
The PR company I have worked for a few times have asked me to help out at a rather trendy party in London this Thursday, and I have succeeded in buying a silvery skirt from Coast (reduced from £135 to £55, bargain)...and the problem is I have absolutely zilcho idea of what to wear with it!!
The skirt is below knee length, and I need a rather flattering top to go on top. I'm a size 12-14 so something that covers at least the top of my arms would be nice. I've seen tops that are plain black but with lace effect sleeves...
Also, I need to buy some black shoes, problem is, I'm a size 9 and I've a bit anxious about finding shoes that actually look that nice. Has anyone else seen anything inspiring recently?
I just get lost looking around on my own. My budget is circa £100 for both and ... do I get patterned stockins or would that completely clash?
YOur stylishtic guru advice please!!!!
There is the hair problem too...it's long, thick, wavy so do I encourage my tresses to go with the natural flow and tong them and risk ending up with huge hair or blow dry straight with my Revlon hair styler (large round brush thing). Smooth and sexy or Way hey Wavy???? I know it's going to rain on Thursday so...I'm going to need a rainguard hairspray...if ever such a thing existed!!!!
As you can tell, fellow fashionistas, I am really rather very excited. Feel like I'm going to a school disco!
Thanks everyone!

size 9
available from ravel or Schuh so you should get something.
What about a different colour - do Coast not have something to go with the skirt.
Get your shoes first - green or teal would be nice

Faith have a section on their website devoted to shoes that are available up to a size 9.

Re: size 9
Will take my skirt with me tomorrow methinks!
You forget that coast is really quite expensive, £55+ for a top, ouch! I like the idea of mixing high street with designer, and don't want to break the bank! I am somewhat limited and I have looked in Coast believe me for any bargains..I shall look again tomorrow in the hope of a knockdown sale item!
Wish me luck!
ANy more suggestions, anybody, please keep them coming!!!!!

How about either a white plain t shirt (good quality brand new one) with plain silver flat pumps and get a really funky coloured arm cuff?
Or a muted toned slouchy silk camisole (completely plain), with a teal shrug and teal flats?

Work clothes? Help please!
NO.5. ask :
Work clothes? Help please!
As I've just been outed as a lurker on the newbie thread I thought I'd join in properly and ask you fashionistas a question! :p
I have to look very smart for work (have a 'pillar of the community' v respectable sort of job  ) and therefore have to wear suits.. However, I can quite often end up being outside, dealing with buildings issues etc, and don't want to spend a fortune on stuff that may get spoiled.
Where do other people buy work clothes from? Have a few suits from Next which are OK, and had one from Jigsaw which lasted ages and was v well cut, so may try there again, but other suggestions welcome. Also have a real problem buying tops to wear under suits?? And shoes??
Thanks!

Answer:
Maybe try wrap tops, fine knit jumpers or just some nice fitted shirts.
I get alot of my clothes from HM where they're pretty good value and can always find all kinds of stuff to wear with anything.
Answer:
Slightly OT, but have you tried Starch Spray (you can get it from somewhere like Tesco or sainsbury's) It's got silicone in it that give your clothes a protective layer so that dirt doesn't sink into the surface and comes off when during cleaning. There is also a spray you can use for shoes, Jones or Clarks probably stock some, especially useful for shoes with suede.
Just a thought, as it might save you some money on buying lots of stuff that you end up chucking because they get dirty from one your out-and-about visits.
Answer:
I'd recommend spending a little bit mroe to be honest. If you buy cheap tailoring it looks cheap and its also a false economy as it just doesn't last.
For work I buy good quality but basic pieces (mostly black as its easy to mix and match!) from joseph (best for trousers), cashmere and 100% cotton tops from MS or Reiss and boots from Jimmy Choo. You can then make it look a bit more stylish with belts and scarves. Believe me its worth spending the money when you get constant hard wear out of it! ;)

Hi Binky
I think HM is a really good idea for tops. You don't want to be wearing your finest clothes when you're traipsing around outside...
Also, try places like Oasis and Zara for basic tops and, possibly, suits. The newer sections of MS might be good bets for smart basics, too.
However... I am currently in love with Hobbs - definitely worth a look - it's smart and has some stuff in very nice colours at the moment :)
As for shoes, it depends on what sort of style (boots/ closed toes/ heels/ flats) you are after...? Give us an idea and I will get thinking!
Slinky :)
