Snakeskin Slingbacks

NO.1. Ask :
Snakeskin Slingbacks
Whatcha' reckon????

Worth 300 pounds??
Answer:
Hi Angel_angel
I like them apart from the attachment at the front. If they didn't have that, then the shoes might be something I might buy as I'm currently liking the trouser suit and heeled slingback look, but definitely not for £300.
But hey, if you like them, you can afford it, you have something to wear them with and somewhere nice to be seen with them on, then I would say go for it!
Answer:
Hmmm I like them apart from the front bit too. I think you could probably get nicer ones for £300
Answer:
I like the snakeskin the colouring... just not the shoe itself. I agree that there are probably nicer ones around for alot less money.
Answer:
yes and no
very thin soles - so only for light occasion use I think - propbably scuff easily on the toes too! Like the colour, not sure about the decoration!

What I bought in Hong Kong - phase 2
Ok guys... here's the shoes I bought in HK. Knowing how I am, you will probably think this is quite a poor effort (which I think it is!!!)
Metallic olive beaded ballet pumps - £14 and the softest leather ever... so comfy!
Metallic twist ring detail flat pumps - about £20 and again the softest leather... leather lined too!
Zebra print ponyskin boots - real leather and leather lined... I couldn't resist and were a total bargain at less than £20. The blue ribbons on the back I added myself! I can also change the colour if I want to.
And if that wasn't good enough... I bought these at the weekend!
White toe post sandals - from dune, not the best bargain at £25 but they are sooo comfy and what I have been looking for for 2 years.
Green/silver sequinned toe loop sandals - from dotty p's... and were a recommendation from Miss Sweetcheeks (although they were a different brand), but cheers all the same!
    Answer:
Ooh i love the metallic twist pumps, kinda '50s in a good way!
    Answer:
Yingers - they are all gorgeous especially the pumps - lovely!:)
    Answer:
Thanks! The twist pumps were a little bit more than alot of nice shoes in hk, but I just couldn't resist the detail... and the colouring is a bit more unusual... they come up a bit gold in pics... but are morelike silver with a pewtery touch.
Here's a pic of the toes!
    Answer:
Wow, I'm so envious! Everything you bought is flippin gorgeous. The zebra print boots are sooo 'you' :D

What do we all think of my idea..........
    Hee hee I'm excited!
I'm in China/HK at the moment for 2.5 months and when I get home I have quite a few weddings to go to! My original plan was to get some dresses made in HK in some beautiful raw silk in this sort of style (sorry don't know how to put the picture in the post!)
    http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/ca...ndex=34cmCat=
Just very very plain, maybe a dark green and a pink one.
ANYWAYS, I'm going to Toyko for the last 10 days of my trip and my new idea is to have a kimono made! I've seen some pics on the web and they are stunning. I love the fabrics and would maybe have the patterned as the main part with a big obi style belt in a plain silk, I'd get it to the knee and perhaps less "structured" than normal with fab really high strappy sandals.

What do you think girls? Would it be too much "back in England"?? The wedding I would definitely wear it to would be one of my best friends who is having quite a traditional wedding but it will be very posh but she wants us to wear hats if we can but there's no way I could wear a hat with a kimino! There's one in a Cyprus too in June but I think it will be far too hot there so maybe I will need to get a dress made too. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
    Answer:
There was a programme on hk the other night here and they went to Sam's Tailor on Nathan Road Tsim Sha Tsui... I have heard about this place before.
They custom made this amazing dress for the presenter in 2 hours, the only trouble was they didn't say how much any of it cost - fabric, service, quick turnaround, etc.
But if you can get to mainland china like Shenzen, you can have anything made dirt cheap... they even do shoes, but alot of things have to be made to order which means having to go back up there again another day.
Like the dress... just not the pattern. I like your idea of getting the kimono made... I think it would look fantastic, but I personally think it would be a bit over the top for here... unless you are going to a really fancy do. Even then you would still stick out like a sore thumb.
One thing to be aware of is Japan is really expensive... and dependent on what fabric you get will only add to the cost.
    Answer:
Might check out Sam's tailer thanks chick, I'm sure I'll be in TST when I'm back in HK so will check him out! There seems to be LOADS of suit tailors but not so many dressmakers as such.
Yep the style of the dress is definitely what I want the pattern mings!!
I'm gonna investigate to see how much it will be in Japan, I get my bonus at the end of May which I was going to use for a pair of Choos or Blahniks but this might be another idea and I'm thinking it would be something I could keep for ever.
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    Answer:
Weddings aside, I'd recommend you get a kimono anyway. I bought one in tokyo a couple of years ago when I was there and have worn it with jeans etc quite a few times. It's well worth getting a real one while you're there as the material is beautiful!
    Answer:
The kimono is beeyootiful and I think it would be a lovely thing to have and keep as well as a souvenir of your trip. It would definitely stand out at a traditional wedding over here (in a good way) although it might be worth mentioning to your friend that that's what you're planning on wearing - if she's expecting pastel skirt suit and Philip Treacy etc then perhaps it would be best to prepare her for your outfit first?
The style of the dress is pretty - dark green raw silk would look lovely in any style
Wish I had a wedding to go to! :( All my friends are crap - happy with cohabiting blah blah blah....
Good luck with it all x
