Kimono

NO.1. Ask :
Kimono
I'd quite like a kimono to wear as a dressing gown in the summer, a cotton one not a silk one. Quite like this but would prefer something a bit cheaper (this one's £79) Has anyone seen anything anywhere?
Ta x
Answer:
Ooooh that's pretty. I've got a black satin one (am wearing it now) but haven't got a clue where to get a colourful one from. I'd quite like one like the one you've posted too - out of interest where is it from?
ETA: Type in kimono in Google, lots of sites come up.
Answer:
It's really nice isn't it, I can't really afford £79 right now though. It's from www.plumo.com
Answer:
You could try http://www.thejapaneseshop.co.uk/ - they might have some slightly cheaper. Also MS (particularly Per Una) might have some, although not as pretty as the one you've posted! http://tinyurl.com/d6733
Answer:
Thanks Curls, just had a look at both those sites but didn't see anything. BUT just seen this on the Miss Selfridge site for £22...

    Advice on Outfit
I'm going to my friends 18th birthday party at her house next week and have no idea what I'm going to wear. I was thinking about black cropped combat trousers with heels, but I don't know what kind of top would go with it. Can someone please give me a suggestion?

BTW: I'm 5'8", slim and have shoulder length brown hair if thats any use.
    Answer:
A nice cami? What about different coloured layered vest tops? Or if it's a bit nippy what about a nice off-the-shoulder deep V-neck sweater top a la Carrie in Sex in the City? Plus some nice silver dangly earrings and maybe a bangle or charm bracelet?
Sounds like a trip to somewhere like Top Shop might be in order for a major trying out session. :)

    stuck for ideas
Right gals, I need some inspiration!
At work I have to wear a knee length Navy dress. I don't mind the dress too much (it's got 3/4 flared sleeves and a v neck) the problem is what to wear on my feet now that summers coming up!
Through the winter I've been wearing my flat wedgie knee length boots from duo which to be honest are a little worse for wear now.
I've also been wearing brown suede slouchy boots. I've been teaming these up with patterned tights.
The problem is I can't stand to be in heels all day. I spend all day on my feet and heels just kill.
I haven't got the best feet anyway (won't go into detail, but think along the line of corns  )
I wore these today and they really hurt all day.
I don't want to spend all summer in boots and the store I work in gets really hot.
I'd like a pair of funky shoes as I have to look the part at work but as I have quite chunky legs flats prob won't look right:rolleyes:
Has anyone got any ideas what I can do?
My feet really get me down and I sometimes dread going to work purely because I know they will hurt all day.
    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks guys:)
    Answer:
Depending on how formal you have to be with your footwear, I'd say a pair of sling backs rather than sandals with a small heel. Unfortunately, I know that Navy shoes are difficult to find so don't have any ideas. Have you looked at the rest of MS's range? Otherwise, perhaps somewhere like Clarks or Next?
    Answer:
    Hi there,
    What a nightmare for you.
Are you allowed to wear open toed shoes, if you are I'd suggest birkenstock.
I'm almost guessing you have to wear closed shoes, but here goes anyway these are ultra comfortable all day long.
Or you could go for something like these which are flat, but still quite cute for work...
    Or these
    or these
These ones here, for a tiny heel
    here
These ones are so soft and comfortable
I used to have to wear a navy blue uniform too, and I always wore shoes similar to shown above.
Heels just couldn't be done, when you stand up all day.
    Here are some
    other ones
Due to the way Clarks website is set up, I can't link directly to a pair of shoes, but there are some under
they are number 3 along and are called "HONKYTONK" which look good for work, as they have a slight wedge soles, but are rubber soft.
    Worth a look http://www.clarks.co.uk/
    Hope this helps a bit.
    Take care X
    Answer:
Oh and just to add, if I was you I'd say stuff the navy shoes,
and opt for black, as navy shoes are a beeeatch to find, and it's such an old fashioned colour when it comes to shoes.
I am aware of the "navy black don't match" but honestly I never felt consious in my five years of wearing black shoes to work with navy skirt.
Everyone does it, bankers, supermarket ladies etc etc.
    :)
    Answer:
I have to wear navy for work, and usually wear a pair of black kitten heels, but then again, I sit down most of the day. Not much help, I know, but I really like the shoes from office. :)

MS coral kaftan as seen in Vogue!
There's a really nice coral kaftan with gold sequins on it in the 'cheap chic' supplement with this month's vogue. It's from MS but they don't have it in any of the stores I've looked in, there's an 'as seen in vogue' section on the MS website but it's not there either. Just wondered if anyone had seen one in store? Ta x
    Answer:
I think the Vogue items are due in store on 23 April but will only be in the bigger stores like Marble Arch etc (i hit my MS looking for a few items myself....);)
    Answer:
Thanks for that. I emailed MS through the website yesterday but haven't heard back from them yet...

    Gold bag advice!
I bought this bag from Oasis a couple of weeks ago...
I do like it, but really wanted one of the topshop leather ones which my local store didn't have at the time. Here's a picture in case anyone doesn't know the one I mean...
Anyway, my nearest topshop has them now, and they're on the website too. Can't really justify having two gold bags so my question is do you think I could sell the Oasis one on ebay? It's been used a few times but is basically in brand new condition... What does everyone think?
    Ta x
    Answer:
Just list it on ebay as Sienna/boho/vintage style and someone will buy it!!!
    Answer:
yep definately. I have just sold a bag I previously bought on ebay didn't like! ( Got about the same I paid for it)
just remember to include your postage costs !
    catslife
    Answer:
Go for it - just use vintage-look/hippie chic/boho chic and Sienna Miller in the description and you will probably offload it pretty quickly!
And the Topshop one is much better imo!
    Answer:
Thanks ladies, yes it's defintely a bit boho sienna, maybe even a bit satc?! The topshop one is sooo much nicer.
