Am I Becoming Embaressingly Mean?
......but does anyone else think that New Look is becoming a bit expensive?
I bought a lovely green dip dyed skirt (£25) and a linen embroidered skirt (£22) on Saturday and found myself thinking, hang on these would probably of cost £20 for both in Primark and quality would be almost identical. Naturally I wasn't sensible enough to walk away :D
I've figured that I'm quite mean about clothes (except jeans) but am quite happy to splash the cash on accessories and shoes.
Answer:
It's not just New Look that's becoming expensive - Topshop is really overpriced right now. There's a thread on here somewhere about Dotty P's being overpriced too. I think I need a payrise!
I know what you mean about spending a fortune on accessories shoes though, I'd rather spend £300 on a pair of shoes that I love, than on a dress or top. Although, I suppose if I saw a dress I really loved, I'd probably get it!
Answer:
New look is definately getting more expensive but then again i think the clothing range in there has improved and i guess the money has to come from somewhere, mainly our pockets
That said i think the shoes are really cheap compared to other places. I know they aren't the best of quality but it's a great place for 'fashion' shoes. I got some gorgeous gold dancing style shoes from there for £20!!! Also a while ago i got some lovely high heeled tan courts with a buckle and snakeskin strands here and there (sorry cr@p description  ) and they were only £20, now faith and other places are bringing them out for £60!

I started being surprised at topshop and river island prices a while back, but i think its partly since i have started shopping in lower priced shops like primark. Its like my price expectations have been shifted downwards!
Answer:
I agree about new look... but I think alot of the shops are coming it a bit atm... even primark... I saw a full skirt with sequins and that was £12... not exactly a rip off but the same thing was about £6-8 last year.

Shoe suggestions
Hi ladies :)
I have been bought this skirt and plan to wear it with a simple white kate vest and a lovely silver belt i've seen in warehouse...
Thing is i'd really appreciate some suggestions when it comes to what shoes to wear with it. I don't want them to be too high, the kinda shoes you could walk around in for a couple of hours, so maybe 3inch heels tops?
Thanks in advance
Cat x
Answer:
How bout some flat silver pumps? They'd go with a silver belt and look pretty with the white.
Answer:
Sorry to be akward but i'm not keen on pumps :o
Answer:
I think silver ballet pumps (although I like them) won't go with this skirt as they will dress it down.
Definitely get something silver though and perhaps something a bit more dainty like strappy kitten heels or toe post sandals. Silver khussa's would probably look ok too.
Answer:
I agree with the silver shoes, they would match the belt and the sequins. That skirt is really nice.:)
Silver or light pewter shoes

Silver or light pewter shoes
Hi,
Going to a wedding this week and planning to wear a turquoise silk dress... I don't suppose anyone believes me, but I don't have any suitable shoes to go with it.
I've left it really late and I have only in my mind the kind of shoes I want... they must be silver or light metallic grey (pewter), no higher than 3" heel and heel musn't be chunky.
I really would like some kind of really strappy 'birdcage' sandals but can't find anything anywhere.
I've tried the usual high street shops (watford today... was in london yesterday but stupidly forgot to look for shoes) and have also tried schuh.
If I don't find anything tomorrow, i'm going to just order the silver snakeskin slingbacks on schuh as they're only £15 and hope for the best... otherwise i'm going to have to find something else to wear and that would probably be alot worse than finding the shoes.

Hi Yingers
I posted asking advice on some similar shoes a few weeks ago... it seems there are no silver shoes about this season - BUT - i have been hunting like mad asnd found some nice ones in HOF in Reading at the weekend they are Roberto cavalli and are strappy with ankle strap - also saw some lovely ones in Nine West sling backs not too high and they had a small diamante flower on the toe strap (sadly neither in my size grr)
There are also these cheaper ones on ASOS

And these ones in schuh which are much nicer than the snakeskin ones i think..

There are also some diamante versions!
Happy hunting and let me know if you find any others..

I don't suppose this will be much help to you really but I have some shoes in exactly the colour and style you are looking for. I got them from Topshop Shoes but it was in the January sales and they were only £15! I don't think they will have them now though so that is why I don't think this is much help! Sorry.

Searching for the perfect vest - help!

Searching for the perfect vest - help!
I'm on the hunt for a plain white vest that I can wear under a couple of low cut tops I have (to make them respectable enough for work!). It needs to be cut quite high at the front (no cleavage on show) and slim-fitting/fine enough that it won't make me look bulky. There's no shortage of white vests in the shops - the main problem is that either a) they're really low-cut or b) they're too buly to wear under slim-fitting tops.
Can anyone help?
Answer:
I'd try MS - they've got some really nice ones in their undies section.
Answer:
I really like Hanro - they're very sheer and simple, and very feminine. You can get them on www.figleaves.com. They're expensive, but there's a £10 off voucher if you spend £40 at Figleaves floating around on the board - do a search.
Answer:
Topshop skinny rib vests are nice and slimline. They are on the topshop website and are £5:)

Have you tried the Oasis ones?
