Metallic Flats

NO.1. Ask :
Metallic Flats
Grrr. Can't find any I like anywhere! :(
I've just looked on the Topshop website and seen a pair I quite like. If you click on Shoes and then Flats, they're the pair at the bottom of the main image (metallic flat shoes with a little strap over the front) but in gold (if you scroll left you'll come to them).
Has anyone seen these irl? Are they soft and squidgy and comfy?
Thanks!
Answer:
Anyone? Anything?
Anyone seen anything? :(

I got a nice pair in Topshop as my Easter Egg from hubbie, and I think they're still in there.
They're dead flat round toe distressed metallic, in a shade which could be taken as silver or gold (depending on outfit worn with them). I also got a leather weave belt in the same colour metallic.
What I liked about them was that unlike most of the other topshop flats, they are actully leather.
Answer:
I got a pair in silver and my friend got a pair in gold both in M+S last week, just plain metallic flats with a little bow. They are a bit pricier than TS but its more than made up for in comfort - I could wear these shoes forever!

OOh! Are they on the website? I'd really like a pair that could be gold or silver.
BettieP - If I can't find anything else, I shall definitely be getting the MS ones.

  • where to find an embroidered cumberband?

    NO.2. ask :
where to find an embroidered cumberband?
Hey, I'm looking for a pretty embroidered cumberband (I think thats what you call them!) to help jazz up jeans, as an alternative to all the disk 'boho' (!) belts. I have found a gorgeous one in Jigsaw, which I think was a mint green, with embroidery and a some light beading, but at £50, its a bit out of my budget right now. However, it is the only one I have found which has a a kind of button clip as a fastening - I have seen ones in NL, which are secured by a tie (I think these might be obi belts?) and in accessorise, which attaches by velcro, but this isnt quite what I'm after!
Does anyone know what I'm describing, and if so, seen anything like it? Or am I just being too fussy?

    Answer:
I think I know what you mean.
Dorothy Perkins has one like this, it is £20, much more affordable

    ...to finding me
A pair of pull on stretch knee high boots in black
They have to be flat or with a tiny heel. I'm not too fussed about the toe shape.
I saw a girl with a pair on the other day and she looked fab, I now need some.
Why is it that when you know exactly what you want you can't find it.
Ooh also, does anyone know where I can get a shrug from. I'm looking for the ones peeps wore last winter. They were sort of crochet with 3/4 or long sleeves.
They weren't that short, they finished about halfway down the back.
I've looked everywhere but I can't find any, only short sleeve ones:mad:
I want black, cream or brown.
    Thanks guys:)
    Answer:
Just admit it, you can't be arsed with looking at all the shoe sites available.
And you want us to do it for you:p
    I'll try, be back soon.
Ps. I got a black shrug, long sleeves, half way down the back from Primark for £4.
    It's gorgeous :yay:
    Answer:
    Ok there's these:
    boots
    Answer:
Do you want fabric or leather boots? I know Debenhams always seem to have a stash of fabric pull-on boots.
As for shrugs, most high streets stores should have one.

    Lol, I've been rumbled.
I can never find anything when I look:lol:
No seriously I can't see for looking and I get all confused!! and as for the bleedin shrug, I trawled all through previous threads but cos they are quite old, the shops that peeps mentioned don't do them anymore:mad:

  • Spendaholics

    NO.4. ask :
    Spendaholics
I'm sure this could be considered slightly off-thread but did any of you happen to catch Spendaholics on BBC3 last night?
It's basically a show where a psychologist and Jay whats-her-face (Would Like to Meet etc.) get people in serious debt back on the right track. Last night the woman had an addiction to shopping and was a whopping £46,000 in debt (£23,000 of which she'd borrowed off her mother)! She would only buy designer clothes - although most of it seemed to be rather dubious diffusion lines like Armani Jeans and wouldn't looked out of place on the back of a lorry or being bartered for in a pub. She spent between £500 and £1200 a month on clothes!
Despite claiming to love shopping she wouldn't set foot in high street stores and had a panic attack when they tried to get her in Peacocks!! She also refused to buy sale items. Even when they took her to a sample sale and showed her a less than half price Marc Jacobs skirt she scoffed at it!
To me, the whole fun of shopping is splurging on one item and saving on another. I think nothing of teaming a pair of wool trousers which were £11 from Tesco with vintage shoes (£10) and a £420 Gucci bag.
    Answer:
Sounds like it was an interesting watch. We only have boring terrestial TV though so I didn't watch it.
    Answer:
no, didn't see it but it sounds interesting ! my favourite kind of shopping is for absolute bargains. I particularly love things that look really expensive and are admired by some of my designer-addicted friends but really were cheap / second-hand etc
    Answer:
i saw it and have to say i thought it seemed really ---- fake ? the girl just seemed all wrong and her replies seemed so rehearsed. i thought she might be an actor!
i also couldn't believe that somebody that spent so much money on clothes and had such a 'phobia' of cheap shops, could look so crap - did you see her patchwork jeans FFS?!?!? I wont even begin to talk about her make up - the frosty violet lipstick scared Mr PV into cleaning up the kitchen :p
oh and the stylist - whats her name, Jay (yep, same one from WLTM) - she is just all W-R-O-N-G  Did you see her sequin-dragon down right leg jeans?!
If it was an authentic case study then it has definitely affirmed in my mind that money can't buy taste/style!
    sorry, rant over girls x :o :)
    Answer:
I spend that much and I wouldn't go in Peacocks either! :o
*eta* I should clarify the reason for the latter is because I have zero patience and energy for shopping and would resent the time it would take to rootle though the stock looking for the good things.
I can't even get Channel 5 clearly, never mind non-terrestrial channels. It so annoys me when a programme finishes and the voice-over says 'over on BBC3 now you can see more!' Rub it in why don't you!

  • Sleeveless V neck tshirts?

    NO.5. ask :
    Sleeveless V neck tshirts?
Hey, has anyone seen any t-shirts, with a deep V and are sleeveless? I have a couple of these, and are much more flattering on me than the 'kate vest', and are useful for layering, but I cant seem to find any anywhere! I need something more substantial than a vest for during the day, so something sleeveless, rather than strappy is much better for me
    x ohara!
    Answer:
This is probably not much help, but I got a black, sleeveless v-neck in Primark last summer. Its cotton with about 5% lycra. It's kept its colour well, too. Can't see why they wouldn't have these again this year.
    Answer:
Etam have these in a selection of colours and they're all under a fiver. :)
    Answer:
oo, thats great thanks. I sadly dont have a primark anywhere near me  so i will check out etam instead. Don't suppose you know if they are slightly longer in length too, to avoid flashing my tum? Dont ask much, I know :p
    thanks,
    Ohara
    Answer:
Again, this won't help you, but I am going to post it anyways:lol: the Primark ones are long enough that you don't flash your tummy all the time! And they don't shrink when you wash them, unlike MS ones.
Don't know anything about the Etam ones, sorry. Our Etam closed a month or so ago.
