what you recon?
hi,
no idea if this is the right place...
i have some lovely trainers and unfortunatley after walking the dog and mowing the lawn, they are filthy, normally no problem just chuck em in the washer, however they have swade detail on them, do you think it would do too much damage to bung em in the washer?

Answer:
Not sure if this is right or not, but when I wash my trainers (which are all a sort of delicate fabric) I put them in a pillow case. Not really sure why! But I am sure I have heard it recommended before! I think it protects them a little more.
HTH :)
Answer:
ive washed mine a couple of times but wouldnt do it with one of my best pairs. Apparently washing up powper and high temps can cause the glue to unstick and the soles to come away.
If you do maybe dont add power and wash on v low temp.
Answer:
You should never put trainers in the washing machine... but if you have to put them in an old pillowcase (one per shoe) and use a cold delicate cycle.
Even if there's a little suede detail on them the washing machine won't do it much good, but it shouldn't really do it much harm either... i'd rub it gently with a suede brush when they are dry.
Do you like this top?
NO.2. ask :
Do you like this top?
1 Attachment(s) I bought this today from Primark and I think I like it! I tried it on over my jeans and most of it is ok (I wear it over a brown vest top) but the neck seems very wide and sort of slips off my shoulders. Is it meant to be like that? What do you stylish baggers think?
Any help appreciated!
Answer:
ooh I tried that on, really liked it but my chest just seemed to small for it! THink the shoulders are meant to slip off in a seductive way - though not if both slip off at the same time!!
If you're going to wear a vest top underneath then a shoulder slipping shouldn't be a problem...
Answer:
That's really nice - love the colour.
Woudl look great with jeans and a weave belt.

Answer:
1 Attachment(s) Thanks guys :) I might hold onto it and try it again with my belt etc! I think because I am bigger up top ;) it works ok!
And just because it's fun I wanted to show you what else I bought...

Wedges
NO.3. ask :
Wedges
I have found the most gorgeous pair of slingback wedges, but the slingback bit is a tiny bit too long to hold them on my feet properly. Other than that they fit fine. I have tried to get hold of a size down (my feet are scarily versatile so would have been OK) but there are none to be found in the whole country! Is there anything I can do to make the slingback shorter? It is elasticated and I was hoping I could somehow modify it (sew?!)... Any ideas or is it a lost cause?! I am truly desperate as I am in love...
Answer:
You could try taking them to a repairers and see if they can do anything. Jones Bootmaker also do repairs and might be worth an ask. Failing that I know how annoying slippy slingbacks are so I would keep trying for the smaller size! Where are they from/ what are they like? I hate falling in love with stuff only to not get it :(
Answer:
Sorry for the late reply, I really appreciated the response, Mooferoo! In fact, there was no call for sewing horrors: the whole issue has been resolved by a lovely sales assistant at the Oxford Circus Miss Selfridge, who scoured the UK for a size 4 with no luck. But the very next day she had an unexpectedly delivery with my size, hurrah! and promptly transferred them to my branch (although they have no obligation to do this) so that I got them within 2 days of falling in love with them! I am very impressed with Miss S at the mo.
AND with my student discount were only £34, yay! They aren't on the Miss S website but are absolutely identical to these Faith ones, only without the fussy heel (my heel is plain cream-coloured)...

They look lush with my slouchy cropped linen trousers from TS and my knee-shorts.
I am so pleased and can even walk in them (a bit)...
No Lush Gold Roxy booo hooo
NO.4. ask :
No Lush Gold Roxy booo hooo
Lush just confirmed that they have no plans to bring out a gold Roxy. And she says she doesn't know how long they are going to keep doing the colours they have at the moment PLUS they are selling out really fast so I think I might get a camel. Of course it is probably a sales ploy but you never know. Someone else on here said they didn't know how much longer they would be making the current colours. :(
Answer:
Boo!
I mailed them about a Blenheim version and they said they had nothing in the pipeline but would pass it on to the designers.
:(
Answer:
Puddy did she say if they were going to bring out any other colours or any other bags???? (cos otherwise, surely they'd go out of business if they're not going to carry on doing the ones they've got? )
You SO won't be disappointed with a camel one hon!! I was just sat on the bus earlier, admiring my lovely bag :o ;)
(and of course pondering AGAIN whether to get the blue one... )

Answer:
Tbh I think she was just covering her bets. If she told me that they were going to make these colours permanently she would have lost out on an immediate sale. And committed herself to something that she might not want to.
I would say they will bring out more colours like they did with the Le Dix, which originally came only in the basics, and keep on with the basic browns and black. They can't stop making the roxy style if they are as popular as she says.
I am hoping for a pink to appear but in the meantime have ordered a camel. I only got paid yesterday and will be living on salt and pepper sandwiches for lunch for the rest of the month (bought it with my lunch money!!!!) but it will be worth it!
I wonder why the black one is cheaper than the others?
What I like about the Roxy is that you can use it with the flaps folded or straight up if you have big things in your bag. And of course the Lush leather is so...well... lush!
Any unhappy ebay purchases recently?
NO.5. ask :
Any unhappy ebay purchases recently?
Aghh i just want to have a bit of a rant. I never seem to get on with ebay when it comes to buying things. I bought some lace flat blue shoes, and iv recieved them but they are too big and too bright and pretty darn ugly. Anyone else recently bought something off ebay and not satisfied with it?
Answer:
The last thing I bough that I was unhappy with was a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans and it was entirely my fault, I didn't read the description properly and they are rigid not stretch so don't fit. I must get round to selling them, wardrobe space is at a premium.
Answer:
I probably wouldn't buy shoes (unless they were open toed sandals or mules) or trousers but of the other things I buy, I reckon I have to alter at least half of it to fit.
I've got two things on-hand right now that need adjusting.
I suppose it's only to be expected really. With most of the stuff I try on in real life the fit isn't quite right and there I am on Ebay buying stuff I can't even try on so it's quite likely it'll need altering. :(
Answer:
I bought a pair of shoes I found through ebay, but didn't strictly buy them using ebay - they were total crap and are being sent back tomorrow. So disappointing.
I've got items for sale atm and they haven't even been looked at much according to the counters let alone have any bids on them... after this I think i'm gonna veto ebay for good.
Answer:
If I buy something from ebay don't like it - I just resell it - I have had no problem to date getting my money ( or more!) back from them.
