just looking through people's mystylediarys on stylediary.net - people have some really gorgeous stuff on there.
as per, however, i spotted something i really love - this cropped adidas jacket. I did an ebay search and found nothing, but i wondered if anyone knows anything about this style of jacket? the person is in Canada, but if its adidas its probably pretty trans-global.
not sure that theres a way to contact an individual person through stylediary, to ask them...
don't you hate it when you fall in love with something you'll probably never find??!

    Answer:
Wow I love that jacket! It may not be vintage Caramel, some their recent designs do look quite retro....so all 3 of us may be able to get our hands on it!:yay:

    Morning fashion peeps!
While rummaging around in my wardrobe yesterday I discovered an old jacket I had forgotten I owned :o It's made of soft very lightly quilted velvet with a mandarin collar and big silk-covered hook-and-eye fasteners. The colour is quite hard to describe - the background is probably deep blue with a dense pattern in deep green and purple on the top; think muted jewel colours.
It's a really pretty jacket and suits me well so I want to keep it. It looks nice when paired with other strong jewel colours (magenta, peacock green and so on) and the ubiquitous denim, but I'm really struggling to find anything else to wear with it.
    Any ideas? Help please!

It's difficult with Chinese jackets as they can be really striking and opulent. Most people I've seen just wear them with a long black skirt or black trousers, so not competing with the jacket.
Following on from the Chinese theme, I saw Lucy Liu on Joey yesterday and she was wearing cropped trousers and boots (not with a Chinese jacket though) - so I've still got it playing in my head. Maybe concentrating on shape rather than colour might be the way to go. My point is, what about a cropped trouser and boots combination - or do you think that would look out of proportion? Failing that, remember you thought a pleated skirt was a bit too ladylike on the other thread, but I think that might go. :)
    Answer:
    Thnaks for the replies, girls.
Nice idea about cropped trousers, jasmine - could look quite cute with pretty pumps. Hmmmm. I wonder what it would look like with my black gauchoes. I just can't decide whether black kills the glowing effect of the colours or not.
I just can't do pleated skirts, alas - I tried one on the other day out of nosiness and I'm so small it made me look like a schoolgirl!
    Any more thoughts ladies?

Mmm pumps and cropped trousers, like the sound of that! Guess you could try your gauchos with it but I'm wondering if the jacket requires something a bit more structured?
I know Trinny Susannah don't like the black thing but sometimes it's difficult to match colours up and guess I'm being a bit lazy :o Cue massive trying on session Geek_Kitten?
LOL, at least you tried on the pleated skirt anyway!

    different styles
    Hullo!
over the past few days i've been thinking about my style and the such.I was shopping on friday and all i seen in the high street shops were, boho type things, ethnic type things all the stuff that is in at the moment.
it got me to thinking that it seems to be a conveyar belt of fashion on the cat walk and "celebritys" and then its all in the shops.Am i being wrong or has the amount or direct copies from the catwalk increased in the last few years? im being reminded of a thread last week about primark being sued by Monsoon.
i mean i know that women want to have the latest things(god i sound like my gran) but its seem like a conveyer belt pushed by the shops.
im looking for clothes that inspire me and make me go "wow" at least where i live all i can see is people who look like clones of each other.
is there anybody that wears styles or items etc that the highstreet hasnt seen etc?
    fefexx
    Answer:
Does bringing out stuff I wore 5-10 years ago count? ;)
Isn't that why some people resort to vintage or making their own clothes because they can't find what they want in the shops?;)
    Answer:
    Hullo!
id just love to be able to say that the reason i was wearing say for example,a wooden cuff bangle thing was because i thought itd go with my style and i was looking at "fashion" in all different parts of the world and time periods.
not just because it was in a shop .
i mean i do that myself but to know that you have a totallt uniqe style.
id love to make my own clothes, just not that imaginative i think!!
    fefexx
    Answer:
I do agree about the conveyor belt effect, fefe - this summer it's even more noticeable.
Personally I tend to ignore fashions - if I see something I like I'll wear it, but being fashionable doesn't figure at all on the list of my priorities and I certainly don't feel a desperate need to own the 'latest' things. I buy a lot of clothes from charity shops (and sometimes make my own or customise stuff) so I probably do wear a lot of clothes that you couldn't find on the high street. I do have my own, er, 'unique' (read: mad) look as well - generally my own peculiar take on various trends, current and otherwise!
My style has definitely developed as I got older though - I'm much more individual and creative about clothes than I ever used to be.

    Answer:
    Hullo!
i personally not a creative person in that particular sense. But for example i love wearing my doctor martins.Im generally very feminine dressing but sometimes il come in with my boots on.It may not be "in" but its me,that shows a reflection of my personality,im girly mixed with non girly!
i mean theres nothing wrong with following fashion(although "over" now i have cowboy boots!)
but im interested to know what sort of styles and combos people put togeather and where they get their inspiration from?
