To all Miss Sixty experts out there!!
Hi all,
Can someone please enlighten me regarding Miss Sixty sizing??I heard that their jeans come up small is that true?? I have my eye on a stretchy pair called: Miss Sixty Ex-Ty Jean which are rather low cut and bootleg and stretchy. I wear size 12/14 depending on the cut so was thinking to go for size 32 in their sizing. what do you think?
thanks
shooshoo
Answer:
Hi shooshoo
Well I've got two pairs of Miss Sixty jeans does that make me an expert? - I'll give my twopenneth anyway!
I'm a size 10/12 (UK 10 in Gap) and mine are both 30 waist, but non-stretch - and quite tight, so yes I think the sizing is quite small. As yours are stretch though you should be ok with a 32 - give 'em a try!
Hope that helps some! :)

    NO.5. ask :
Do you think us baggers are "special"?
    Hi ladies,
Excuse the weird title, but I have been thinking about this for some time:
You know how we always discuss the latest trends onhere such as
    gauchos boleros,
    and 7famk jeans,
    which designer bags are in,
    how fab primark is,
what the celebs are wearing etc.
Well do you find that sometimes you mention some of this knowledge in the real world, and people have never heard of
    A) the latest bag,
    B) the latest jeans to wear and so on..
I'm not explaining myself that well here..
    Here's an example:
I said to one of my colleagues I was going to buy some 7FAMK jeans when we got paid (last week), and she is uber trendy,
    wears the latest designer shades,
    reads Heath every week,
    dresses similarly to me,
does her hair makeup every day,
but she looked at me like  and said " what jeans.
So I explained, but she'd never heard of them, nor had my other trendy/fashionable colleague:eek:
Also when I wanted some new eyelash curlers, I wanted the best ones (apparently Shu Uemura), and we also talked about that, and again, they'd never heard of that name:confused:
I am not just talking about these 2 girls,
I mean this happens all the time,
and sometimes I think: are we just that far ahead on the bag, that no-one else knows what we know,
or do we believe our own hype a bit, and think if we've heard about it on the bag, it's gotta be stylish/trendy/in.?
Another example is with this whole Primark trend:
We all go there (with the odd exception), and we rant rave about our bargains, but it seems not many people I know off the bag, ever goes to Primark, and still believes it's a bit embarrasing to shop there.
Even Magazines like "Heath" who normally pick up on good bargain shops, and write about it, has never mentioned Primark, apart from this week, where there's a picture of Mariah Carey looking awful in cheap chiffon,
and they have written underneath "Is it primark or Etam? It's got to be, looking so cheap tacky".....
So.... Is the bag really mega cutting edge?
Does anyone else experience these similar scenarios or has anyone ever thought about this before?
    Answer:
I think it is to a degree, yes. I mean, I've taken fashion-conscious friends into Primark (more accurately, I've dragged them in kicking and screaming) and afterwards, as they come out laden with bags they say that they would never have gone in there by themselves, ever. Gauchos are another thing - I'm pretty sure that in a few months everyone will be wearing them, but we got a head start because of the Bag. Not to mention the HKBL...
I think the secret of the Bag is that we do have some really outstandingly stylish and well-dressed people here with a strong interest in fashion, who are kind enough to share their tips with the rest of us mere mortals. I've mostly stopped reading fashion magazines because (a) I get more than enough ideas from here and (b) half the stuff in the magazines is old hat after being discussed here at length.
Having found the Bag, I can't see myself leaving it any time soon because I'd be too worried about missing out on cool clothes - that really answers the question, I guess.
Very interesting thread, Miss SC. I'll be interested to find out what everyone else thinks.
    g_k
    Answer:
    Hi Miss Sweetcheeks
Never heard of 7FAMK or Primark until the Bag but the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers were mentioned in a beauty holy grail in something like Marie Claire Health Beauty about 7 years ago - ditto the tweezers - so I bought mine way back then.:p ;) I even did Prescriptives when it was quite new about 10-12 years ago.:p ;)
I think it's also that people experiment more on the Bag, whereas the magazines generally play safe and even though they say it's a "hot new trend", it's actually a very old one! It's like I notice certain stuff on the high-street being popular then the advertising starts and the masses hear of it. Happens with restaurants as well. We used to go to a new restaurant for about 6 months, then it gets too popular, can't cope with demand and goes downhill.
Besides isn't the turnaround for printed media quite long and they normally have these things planned for months ahead? Whereas those on the bleeding edge of internet fashion (i.e., the Fashion Baggers) have bought up everything before the masses can get to it and it gets sold out?
On another note, do you want the masses to discover things like Primark? I think you guys would hate it and the shop would become boring because any old Colleen could be wearing the stuff. ;) :p
    Answer:
Mmm, yeah I can't see myself leaving the fashion forums now, for the same reason as you G_K, as I'd be afraid of losing out on all the latest stuff.
    Funny example:
Last year I had ponchos before most people on the streets, as I'm sure many other baggers had.
I wore a thin one to the cinema with Mr.Cheeks,
and several people asked me where I got it,
and then Mr.Cheeks said "OMG I never realised you were so cutting edge".
Then 1 month or so later, everyone and their mothers were wearing them, and he kept telling people how I had started the trend.
    PMSL
And on tuesday I wore a brown russian doll style skirt (Primark £10)
to work, and everyone complimented me on it,
and this other girl (who did the whole gypsy skirt, vest, beads, flip flops GHD'd hair to a bar last friday)
said, after I told her where it was from "Ohh you'd never have known"..
In a way she sounded mega shocked at the fact that I owned anything from Primark..
    Answer:
I have more than once shocked the sales assistants in Mulberry (:o sorry Yingers!!!! It was a month ago I promise!) here because I know all the names and colours of their styles and they don't. AND I knew that a big Roxy was coming out before they did! AND why it was now called the Roxanne and not Roxy anymore.
A family member of mine in London always looks on in awe because I know more about shops and bargains in London than she does (and she considers herself quite on the ball!!!)
I thank baggers every time I spot a shop selling Express Sevens or Se7ens as the real thing. And I know where to get all the best stuff cheaper online. And who the good sellers are on ebay.
I found out about HKBL on here. And Lush (though my credit card doesn't thank you!). And Ioffer. And Smartbargains.
    I could go on forever!
