  • Your best and worst 'bits'

    NO.2. ask :
    Your best and worst 'bits'
All of us are different shapes and sizes. So, what do you think are your best and worst bits?
My best are my legs (I have really great legs), slim ankles, small narrow feet, and my slim hips. I am also fairly tall (5ft 7in) and slim (size 8 on the bottom, but 12 on the top).
My worst are my boobs (huge), bum (flat), tummy (not flat), and the fact that I am slightly duckfooted. I can't decide whether my broad swimmer's shoulders are good or bad.
I look good in jeans and pants, but not strappy tops or anything tight across the tum. Dresses never fit me and I look ridiculous in jackets as they either strain over my boobs or hang over my hips. Pants are usually too loose over my legs.
    Answer:
Puddy you sound gorgeous, I want your figure (and your height!)
My best feature is my stomach, it's really quite flat and appears toned, for some reason i just don't put any weight there.
Worst is my bum, b.f likes that it sticks out half a mile but apart from J-Lo you don't see many curvy-bum women in the media so it makes me self conscious in a lot of clothes.
    Answer:
I've got swimmers' shoulders too, puddy (strictly, rowers' shoulders, but they look the same!) and I really like them. Judging from comments, I think many men find them surprisingly attractive too!
My worst bits - wee short legs, small boobs and a generous butt, accentuated by an arched back  I'm also not keen on my feet!
Apart from that, I'm becoming strangely more accepting of my funny figure - I'm fairly lean and muscular and even if my bum is big it's much perter and better toned than it used to be. Recently I've even noticed that I often need a size ten top and size eight bottoms :yay:
I like my broad shoulders and toned arms, my back, my Pilates-honed waist and flat tummy :D I also quite like my hands and ludicrously tiny wrists for some reason.
There's not much that I feel I can't wear, rather surprisingly - quite probably I'm deluding myself here but I think I have quite a versatile figure. The only things I won't wear are very short skirts/shorts or drainpipe jeans - and even those I'm beginning to warm to a little.

    Answer:
I'll start with the worst bit to get it out the way - my damn thighs! I stopped dancing last year, and ever since I've developed lovely saddle-bags which I cannot shift again. I eat healthily, walk about a mile a day, drink lots of water and do work out but they will not shift
I do like the length of my legs because I'm only 5'4 but have a 34" inside leg, and my bum is quite nice because like bunbunboo's it's quite curvy (although not the saddle-baggy bits at the side!)
I have trouble finding tops that fit me nicely because I have a very small frame, so I usually take a size 6 on top, but I like my boobs and my little waist!
I can't wear long lenth dresses or wrap dresses easily as I'm so little they look silly on me. I tend to look better in nicely tailored things, good fitted jeans and cropped blazers.
    Answer:
I think my best bit is my waist. It's quite tiny and therefore the way it curves in and then out at the sides make me feel feminine. My worst part is definately my legs. I can only dream of what it's like to have slender legs and be able to wear skirts and show them off! I'd also love to have nicer shoulders. Maybe I should up the stints on the rower Geek Kitten ;)

  • Dublin baggers - gauchos in UO here?

    NO.3. ask :
Dublin baggers - gauchos in UO here?
I was just wondering if any of you have seen them in Urban Outfitter here? And more to the point have you seen anyone wearing them around Dublin? I haven't seen them at all, I think I might get some funny looks if I wore them.....you know what people here can be like!!!

    :tar:
    Answer:
They do indeed have them in black in UO Shining Star, I had just ordered my ebay ones the week that I saw them in there, and very nearly got a pair anyway. I tried them on in there and they are lovely (and I'm no skinnymalinks). I've ordered a black pair and brown pair from Ebay though so waiting for those to arrive.
Its around 3 weeks since I saw them in UO, and they only had black, but then you know that our stores never have as good stock as the UK ones.
I think they were around the 40 euro mark - certainly no more than that.
    Answer:
    Hi SS
I haven't seen anybody in this country wearing them yet  i just can't make up my mind whether to order them on line or not...keeping changing my mind :(
    Answer:
I'm still in two minds about them too calgal! I have a US address I could get the online UO ones sent to and someone who can pick them up at the end of May, but I want them now!!
I have to go into town tomorrow for a meeting, so might head in early and go to UO and try them.
tiny - what was the sizing of them like? And sorry for the really dumb question, but do you remember where in the shop they were? (just so I can find them cos I'm almost blind when it comes to finding what I'm looking for in shops :o :p )
If I see anyone wearing them now I'll be wondering if its you!!

    Answer:
I'm not from Dublin, but can I join in too?
I haven't seen anyone wearing them in my part of the world either (Glasgow); I wore a pair shopping the other day and people kept turning round to start at me blankly. 'Twas rather disconcerting, especially as Glaswegians aren't known for their reticence and I kept expecting funny comments. But who cares; they look good!
The sizing is fairly snug - I'm an 8-10 and got a small.

  • Duo of Bath dilemma !

    NO.4. ask :
    Duo of Bath dilemma !
Need your opinions on this dilemma...
Recently I ordered a pair of boots from duo of bath but when they arrived they were too wide around the calf so I sent them back and ordered the smaller size.
A couple of days after I received my replacement I got an email from them saying my order had been despatched! I thought it was a mistake so ignored it. But then 2 days later another pair of the boots were delivered! I checked my credit card online straight away and I have only been charged for one pair.
    So...
Do I do the decent thing and send them back? Or do I keep them and sell them on?
I probably shouldn't even be asking the question but my friends all say I would be mad to send them back as its not my mistake!
    What do you think?
    Answer:
Couple of months ago Play.com sent me the same dvd again without charging me, I didn't even consider sending it back as it was their mistake. But boots are expensive i guess. Lol this reminds me of PSE classes (personal social education) at school when they would give us dilemmas and we had to say what was morally right. Sorry not much help there :D
    Answer:
If it was a DVD theres no way I would send it back! Have done that with CDs before as well! But the boots are £150 so I would feel bad...I think...
    Answer:
Hmm £150 is a lot. I think you've said it yourself, you'd feel bad. They should be chuffed at your honesty and give you a voucher or something!
    Answer:
Dunno... my immediate reaction was that you should send them back... but I didn't take back the 2 extra habitat manolo shoehorns I got for nothing... paid £25 for 3.
My intention was to keep one, give one to my mum for christmas sell the last one... but I gave the last one away to a good friend who was going through a really bad time.
I felt then and still feel now a bit dishonest, but I couldn't put a price on how happy she was when I gave it to her.
So that was something I suppose.

I won these on Ebay today.
Never bought shoes from Ebay before....
    Any honest opinions please?
    Answer:
:o hadn't heard of Carvela, but checked them out on internet and they are pricy shoes, so well done on your bargain!!
yeah, I quite like them. They're wedges, but not stupidly high, and they're smart enough to wear out, but casual enough to wear during the day......
I just wish I had the legs to wear shoes that cut me off at the ankle!!! jealous!! Oh and jealous of your size 3 feet!
    Yeah I like them btw.
    Sorry for rambling thread :p
    Answer:
I like them :) They're elegant wedges rather than clumpy ones.
    Answer:
I love them! Congrats on them!!! They are so going to become useful for the summer and I'd say they're super comfortable! How come I can't find nice wedges????:( . Sorry for the moan!
    Answer:
I love carvela shoes and you got a right bargain there!
They look quite smart... but I don't really dig the cork wedge look personally. They are nice though you did good :great:
