Washing silk and wool in the machine
NO.2. ask :
Washing silk and wool in the machine
Can anyone recommend a good detergent? I've tried Ecover (about as effective as plain water!) and Persil Silk and Wool. The Persil leaves a nice scent but struggles to remove even the most superficial dirt/stains.
Thanks all :)
Answer:
I use Ecover and find it very effective  I even use it wash vintage Hermes scarves. LeBlanc detergents are supposed to be superb but I think they are only availabe through ebay in UK.
ETA: what sort of dirt are we talking about? You could use washing up liquid on the really bad stains and then wash in something more gentle to freshen up the rest.
Answer:
I wouldn't put silk or wool in machine I'd handwash them, I usually use woolite.

wss  it must be some serious dirt
Answer:
Thanks for the replies. Sunnyside - I am usually too lazy and too busy to handwash :o - though do from time to time. I'll try woolite when my current handwash runs out. Loony/Annanas - just pretty superficial stuff. I presume we mean the same Ecover (for delicates)? For example, I've some black wool trousers and walked (very briefly) over a gravelly surface whilst wearing them. The ankles turned a slightly dusty grey sort of colour. I shook them about a bit before putting them in the machine and thought the detergent would take care of the rest, but I can still see remnants of it - perhaps I'm just too fussy!

Bikini
NO.5. ask :
Bikini
It's that dreaded time of year again when i have to think about getting a bikini to go on my hols. Seeing as i'm just going for 1 week i don't want to splash out and was hoping for something cheapish. Does anyone know where i can get a basic black bikinis for less than a tenner? I was thinking maybe Asda or Primark. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Answer:
Matalan's bikinis are very cheap and they have a good selection too. However this year/season you'll struggle to find anything in basic black! swimwear seems to be all about colour.
Answer:
Bay trading have some good basic black ones and should be less than £10 for the top bottoms :) hth!
Answer:
Tesco always has nice bikinis!
Answer:
i got some really nice ones from tesco :o
They are plain black bottoms, and then a plain black halterneck top but it has a little bit of beading on one side - vair pretty, and modestly priced :D
