o/t: store account cards - a rant

NO.1. Ask :
o/t: store account cards - a rant
why can't they just accept no as an answer?
today i went into monsoon... the girls that served me were amazing... but one in particular practically shoved a monsoon card down my throat. she just wouldn't accept no as an answer... i finally had to say yes so she'd just let it go. i find the same thing happens at monsoon.
seriously it should be law.. if someone says no.. they should have to drop it
that goes for the telemarketer who called me during my dinner last night and kept going on and on ... arguing with me about how i should change to another gas/electricty supplier and not waste my money. i ended up getting so worked up about it and not being very nice... which i hate
anyway... rant over !
Answer:
I hate pushy sales people! But there is no way I would say yes just to shut them up! You should have just told them no and that's it!
I hate after every single transaction they always ask you! I find Dorothy Perkins bad for that , and Debenhams its literally every time! Would you be interested in saving 10% today? No because it means getting a store card getting into loads of debt and losing my house!
Answer:
Any form of hesitation and they keep going.
I just say that i don't do store cards and ive never had any quibbles. Its a better way of saying no, than just turning their particular one down, its a no to them ALL.
Answer:
They are pushy but there's no way I'd say yes just to shut them up! I say the same as fants "I don't do store cards" and as for people calling me at home trying to sell - then receiver goes straight down, I don't even enter into a conversation with them. If you can't be as rude as me, a simple "sorry I don't buy over the phone. Thank you" and then put the phone down ;)
Answer:
If there's ever a 3 second silence when someone rings me I just hang up as its always someone selling something!
We had one the other day and my OH always says stupid stuff to stress them out. On this occasion it was an Indian lady selling insurance. I just heard him say "No I don't want that i'm not interested but do you want to buy a bed? A bed.. no.. a bed.. yes we are selling a bed..its a very nice bed are you interested? .. well I'm not interested in what you have and you aren't interested in what I have so lets just forget it!" Then hung up!
Another time he said he wasn't interested in buying a mobile phone as he didn't have any arms :head:

    Advice wanted re outfit
Am off out tonight and am struggling with shoes:rolleyes:
I am wearing teal wrap dres thing (primark) with a little white vest under it. Cropped jeans lots of silver bangles and a lovely silver necklace which has 3 rows of little medallion type things on it, its nice honest.
I cant decide on shoes. Just received my silver khussas this moirning and would love to wear them but are they right for a night out??
Or its brown wedges or black sling black heels??
    What do you think??
    Answer:
it depends on where you are off too, since you are wearing jeans I will presume that it is smart casual and therefore your khussas will be appropriate but the fact that you have brought it up indicates that you are a bit uncertain about it.
Do you have any silver heels? that might look cool, do you have anypics of the dress?
    Answer:
Silver khussas would look great i think, especially since you're wearing lots of silver jewellery. If you were just wearing the dress they might not work but with cropped jeans sounds like they'd be just right.
Have a lovely night out :)

    wow wow wow!!!
Love them - reckon they'd look great with jeans!
    Answer:
    oooh yes... that's hot ;)
    Answer:
loving the skin... just not loving the style of that shoe much... but then I wouldn't complain if someone gave them to me or something!
    Answer:
I wouldn't wear them even if I was given them, just because of the snake skin.
    Answer:
    hmm
Give them? Just buy them - they are the bargain  price of $1100 - with the exchange rate being so good for us - its only about 500 pounds!

    Help... I need a girdle
This is something I'd never thought I'd be asking for ;)!
I've just bought the most beautiful dress for my school's leaver's ball (bronze-gold silk organza, with surprisingly subtle antiquey gold sequins all over the bodice, and beading)... but I had to take it in about five sizes, so take out the lining, and now it's too transparent. I salvaged some of the lining (there was a flesh coloured body inside) to cover my boob-modesty, but the bottom half leaves nothing to the imagination. I was going to wear flesh-coloured big knickers, but I'd prefer something with a bit of a skirt-shape if you know what I mean, like a girdle, or those skirt-type knickers. They need to be flesh coloured.
I've tried all the usual suspects -figleaves and Marks Sparks have them, but only in black and white. Does anyone know any specialist lingerie places that might help me out? I need them in a size 6-8. Thanks in advance!
    Answer:
You should be able to get something like that from Nancy Ganz which any dept store should do,they hold you in as well!;)
    Answer:
What about spanx power pants? Not entirely sure where you can get these in the UK or online but they're supposed to be quite good and come in nude colour.
I saw them in the states for $25, I think they cost about £40 over here, but I didn't want to buy any without consulting my bagging buddies first! If I find out they're any good, I'll get some next time!
    Answer:
I've just did a search and it turns out they do them on figleaves.com and don't cost as much as I though.
I think I read an article in Now magazine last year where they mentioned they cost about £40 a pair... they're morelike £15-20. A slight saving in the US, but only just.
    Answer:
Hi -thanks for the replies :)
I looked at Spanx, but again, i think they'd be a little obscene under the dress... I'd really like something more like a skirt
    This
    http://www.figleaves.com/uk/product....=PX-4111size=
would be perfect, if it came in a flesh tone! I don't even need it to be control (might be easier to breathe in!)

    NO.5. ask :
Anya Hindmarch from Harpers and Queen
I went into the Anya Hindmarch concession today because they had big silver and gold tote bags like the makeup bags (£220:eek: ) and they had gold and silver makeup bags exactly like the free ones from the mags, except with suede lining and a tasseled zip tag. Other than that EXACTLY the same - £80:eek:
    Answer:
I decided not to get one in the end... the snakeskin was disappointing and I didn't want to get the silver one (second best) just for the sake of it... but now i'm beginning to think I could have flogged it on ebay for a tenner or something!!! But I bet there's already a million on there by now anyway.
    Answer:
I couldn't believe that it was exactly the same. The sales people (two of them) had a good look and pronounced it exactly the same except for the lining and the tassle. I couldn't believe it - £80!!!!! And it is genuine Anya Hindmarch so I bet a year from now they will be ebay collectors items!
    Answer:
Oh god Yingers, I was just thinking what a loony I must seem (sorry LP!!!) going with all my fake designer knockoffs and comparing them in the shops to the real thing! There will soon be mug shots of me in all the stores so that they can escort me to the entrance as soon as I make an appearance!
    Answer:
I wish I'd got one now, does anyone know how long this months edition will still be out for? I'd only ever seen the silver ones before which I didnt really like, but the snakeskin ones are quite nice.
