O/T: Sympathy Required...

O/T: Sympathy Required...
I am a massive wimp when it comes to going to the dentist and yesterday I had to get sedated to get a filling in my wisdom tooth.
Everything was going fine (well, as well as could be expected) until the dentist said she was going to have to take the tooth OUT! So she did. I was fine for about 3 hours, until the numbness wore off the pain was unbearable.
This morning, it's not hurting as much, but the whole right hand side of my face is swollen I'm feeling really sorry for myself.
I'm off sick today, so am going to do some cyber-shopping to take my mind off my missing tooth cheer myself up.
Answer:
Aw :( Nothing worse than a trip to the dentist!
Hope you're feeling better. Some shopping will do you the world of good!
Answer:
I had mine taken out a couple of years ago, so you have my sympathy. I even ended up with a bruised chest where he had been pushing to get some leverage :(
Have a fun day cyber-shopping
:yay:
Answer:
Aah! Poor you! Didn't somebody else get all 4 out yesterday? Ouch! Mind you, I've had the left-hand side of my face swollen for about two months because one of mine is overgrowing and sticking into my jaw. That's damn painful! I was on valium-type sedatives for most of my trip to New York. First-ever trip too :(. Didn't stop me spending mind...:yay: :yay: ;)
I *might* be having it out on Tuesday so...absolutely s**t scared now. Thanks!!
Don't forget to post pics of your purchases!!
x
Answer:
Awwww poor thing! Happy cybershopping - that should cheer you up.
I haven't been back to the dentist since my wisdom teeth incident *shudders*

    Shopping in Prague
    Hi everyone,
It looks like I might be going off to Prague for a few days next month, and I was wondering what the shopping is like over there? I hear it's cheap for food and drink, but is it the same for clothing and stuff?
Has anyone been, and which shops would you recommend?
Also, any recommendations for places to eat, etc?
    Thanks in advance,
    Elle.
    Answer:
I loved Prague... I have to go back!!!
I didn't really do any shooping over there so I'm not much help. Their travel system is fantastic. You can buy a three day travel pass for about a fiver which lets you ride busses, trains, underground, tram, etc unlimited.
Oh I loved it..... happy memories.....
    Answer:
I went a few years ago and if I remember the shopping wasn't very good fashion wise. It may have improved since but the highlight of the shopping was a very small diesel store.
Prague is very famous for it's amber jewellery however so you might find something you like and bohemian crystal for the home is very popular too.
    Answer:
Thanks! I'm glad the travel system is good - nothing worse than being unable to get anywhere!
I wanted to get some nice stuff for my flat, so bohemian crystal sounds like a goer! Thanks for your advice, guys.
    Answer:
Hello.. I went last year I found that branded clothes are v. expensive and as toolio said not too upto date. It either ranges from expensive or nasty cheap poor quality.
they have lots of Pashminas as good pirces ( about £7 each!) I bought 4 when I was there.

I used this site to complain to Office customer services about 2 weeks ago. Not heard anything from Office as yet. (I've seen threads on here about how rubbish Office are)
Howtocomplain allows you to send an email to loads of different companies and it monitors what the company response was and allows you to do a follow-up email - seems like a good idea in theory but would be interested in hearing others views and opinions.
Also, has anyone had any success with Office backing down on their daft policy of giving credit notes instead of refunds??
    MM
    :)
    Answer:
That sounds like a good idea - hopefully it'll work. I got a snotty refund from Office when they lost my boots :p

Can you stretch a pair of leather shoes??
I bought a pair of silver ballet pumps from Marks last year when I was fat and pg and my feet was TOTALLY shrek-like yet this year they're still quite small? (and are a size larger than I would normally wear:confused: wtf??)
Anyway, I really want to wear them, but last time I did, I got a blister at the back of my heel  and having just recovered from all my blisters I really don't want another one.
SO I seem to remember something about wet newspaper, but that may have been a dream :o
Do any of you lovely ladies have any idea if you can stretch a pair of leather shoes??
    Thanks!!
    katkinn

    Answer:
Stuff them with wet newspaper when the leather is wet stick a potato in.
Although I've just re-read your post the above only applies if you need to make the front bit of your shoes bigger...
    So I'm no help!
    Answer:
I always get blisters on my heel when I wear ballet flats for some reason - so I just wear a plaster there as a matter of course. You can't see it and it's saved me much pain and suffering!
    g_k
    Answer:
If you go to a decent cobblers, you can buy a leather stretch spray - costs about £4-£5 - spray it in the shoes and then stuff them with paper and hey presto, they will stretch out. Just rescued a pair of shoes with this, and another pair are lined up for treatment :D

and I love love love it!
As Annanas advised it's far more orange than I expected, but I think I prefer it as it's more 'now' and will look better with all my brown bangles and ethnicy necklaces.
Also thanks to Annanas for your sizing advice - definitely needed the XS which is still generous!
It's also shorter than I expected which is a good thing on a short arse like me and the material is more TShirty so it's less formal which is again a good thing as I don't go to many 'formal' dos!
It's the one in this picture....
So thank you everyone for helping me decide and for all your great suggestions!
