A spot of retail therapy!!
Just been very naughty and skipped off revision in favour of a wander round town - in my defence I would've gone mad if I'd stayed in.
Only spent in 2 shops as am saving for my holiday :yay:
White linen 3/4 length trousers, I'm thinking these might be classed as gaucho's because they're pretty wide (not sure if I'm keeping them!) - £5 Primark
Silver/light grey sparkly short cardigan (not quite short enough to call it a shrug!) which I :heartpop: - £8 Primark
Gorgeous 60's print swirly scarf in oranges and yellows, going to be wearing this as a headband - £1.50 Primark
Dark brown leather sandals, hard to describe so have a photo :p - £12 New Look
Not a bad total at all really - hoping mother dearest will donate towards the sandals as they're necessary holiday wear ;)
Let me know what you think! BB x
Answer:
Those sandals are lovely - I was eyeing up a white pair in NL the other week which I may just have to purchase at some point soon.
Answer:
I totally *heart* the sandals :faint:
However bought some sparkly ones from Primark so I will restrain myself.
Answer:
I like the sound of the headband! I was hoping to do something similar, but I can't find any decent material. I'm going to check out Primark now!
Answer:
The cardi's lovely - I've seen it and nearly bought it, but I already have a silver one so restrained myself for some reason! I've got a coppery-orangey one and a pale gold one in the same style.

French High Street
NO.2. ask :
French High Street
Hi,
contrary to Paris' image as a glamorous and stylish city, I find the clothes are often dowdy, and very 80's-looking.
I'm obviously talking about what's in high street shops, rather than top designer boutiques- if I could afford that, I would not need to create this thread!
I can see designs and colours I like in the shops, my problem is mainly that I think the quality and cut is not as good as in the UK. I find clothes from the likes of Oasis, Monsoon and Top Shop at home are generally of good quality and will last for a considerable time, whereas here some things just seem to be of cheap quality and go "like a bag", as my mum would say, after just one or two washes.
So I'm asking for your recommendations from the French High Street!
Answer:
Agnes B - does that count as High St?
Answer:
My friend who lived in Paris would say exactly the same thing - there is very little "middle ground"
What about Bennetton? I like their stuff, but I do find that it is cut for people without boobs and with more continental figures!
I am sure there are Zaras and Mangos in Paris as well, Zara quality can differ but they do have some great stuff in there, same with Mango about the quality, but some is good.
And what about Kookai? Again a bit hit and miss, but I have had some good tailoring from there in the past.
Answer:
Agnes B - does that count as High St?
Nooooo :(
betty- yep, we do have Kookai, Benetton, French Connection and Morgan over here.
Are they ok cut and quality, do you think?
As for the Benetton stuff...believe me, I have boobs!

But...but...a lot of continentals have boobs. :( I actually think Benetton is cut quite well for curves. :(
My Ioffer Paddington -pics!
NO.3. ask :
My Ioffer Paddington -pics!
(Thought I'd start a new thread rather than bump up the Paddington thread from wherever it's gone ;) )
So, I bought a Paddington on ioffer -was a little nervous about it as it was a preorder, and it took forever to arrive... but I've got it now, and all is forgotten, its GORGEOUS!
The colour's a little off the orginial, but for the price I'm not complaining... and I won't feel guilty bashing it around on holiday :)
:throb: :throb:
Answer:
Geez, that's a big picture!
Lovely bag, and I love the colour.
Answer:
I love it! How much did it set you back?
Answer:
Hehe, sorry about the huge picture -I didn't know how to resize it. It cost $220 shipped -which about £115 :O.
More than I've ever spent on a bag before... but it's worth it, is really well made and carries *loads*. Also, I have tons of £30 bags that I've only carried a few times... I figure I'll get enough wear out of it to justify the price.
Answer:
I am in love!!!!! The leather looks soooo soft  Not sure about the colour though...
What shoes?
NO.4. ask :
What shoes?
Hiya,
I bought this dress today. The question is what shoes to wear?
I was thinking possibly silver.
I don't really like huge heels, maximum 3 inches.
Any ideas peeps:)
Answer:
Nice dress!
Silver would look cool, but I reckon turquoise or some other colour picked out from the pattern would look nice too. Camel/light tan is a great versatile neutral and I think it might work as well. I'm not sure if these are exactly the right colour, but I think the basic style (round-toed and cute) would work well.
The Schuh website might be a good place to start looking.

Answer:
Any of the colours that appear in the pattern i'd say. Silver sounds good as does a turquoisey colour in the same sort of blue/turquoise that's in the pattern. Then again, there are bigger colour/fashion experts here than me!
ETA-Geek Kitten beat me to the turqoise recommendation while i was typing! At least it means i wasn't wrong ;)
Answer:
I think those shoes would look perfect ! the flower applique picks up the flower print in the dress wonderfully.
Answer:
I agree with gk's shoe rec. Would go lovely!
Chloe Bag
NO.5. ask :
Chloe Bag
Call me fashion backwards, but is this a Chloe bag?
Apparently, it is, but I havent seen it anywhere else. I couldnt even spot it on their website.
Answer:
I don't know but I want it!
Answer:
Dunno, sorry! Maybe Puddy will be able to help you!
Answer:
Looks very much like it could be, but I'm not totally sure.
Answer:
not entirely sure, if it is on ebay then be wary.
I have seen ones with that handle detail but not tall like that, they are usually long and thin.
could you get to selfridges or even Chloe on Sloane Street to have a long for the real thing; then you will know what to spot.
Or check out the chloe bags on NAP.
