Got a bargain today on Peacocks!!!

NO.1. Ask :
Got a bargain today on Peacocks!!!
I am never this lucky, but today I was looking on the Peacocks website and they must have just put some new items on. I was looking on the bags section and happened to notice that they had forgot to put the price on for the 'Bucket Bag'. It said £0.00. So I quickly paid for it and only had to pay for pp. I have now noticed that they have realised and it is £10. I was trying to get on here to let you know, but have just managed to get on, as the forum boards weren't on earlier.
Answer:
Peacocks have an onlime shop????
Fantastic!
Answer:
Thought it was too good to be true. They have cancelled my order! :( I have emailed them, but they are not going to honour the sale, as they said that they have a right to change the price, until the order is ready for dispatch!
Answer:
Bye bye £50 :o

O/T what can my mum get me for my 21st? What pressies have you got for 'big' bdays?
    Hey girls
My mum's wanting me to think of something that she can get my for my 21st birthday in a few months time. I don't want to ask for anything madly expensive, but it'd be nice to have something I can keep - something with sentimental value, that I can use a lot and think of my mum every time I look at it. So far I've thought of a designer purse (but she doesn't share my love of Mulberry and I don't think she'd spend that much on a purse, so thats out of the window!) and jewellery - but I've already got quite a few pieces of 'special' jewellery (a necklace she bought me for passing my GCSE's, a watch and ring from Mr GJ for my last birthday and Christmas, and a ring off my nanna for my 18th), so I don't know what else I could ask for that I'd wear day to day.
I just wondered what pressies other people have got off friends/OH's/family for 'special' birthdays - it might give me some idea of what to ask for!
    Thanks in advance :D :thanks:
    Answer:
My 21st was so long ago, it's hard to remember
I know you said you've already got "sentimental" jewellery, but how about a silver charm bracelet from somewhere like Links of London or Tiffany with one charm attached? I really like these charms, both from Tiffany:

That way you can add to it over the years, when specific events happen.
DH got me a charm bracelet shortly after we got together and we tend to pick up new charms when we're on holiday - so I've got a venetian gondola, an empire state building, canadian maple leaf etc. It's a lovely souvenir of all my holidays and definitely has sentimental value. I only tend to wear it if we've got people coming over to our house or if I go to other people's houses - I'd hate to lose any of the charms in some bar :o
    Just an idea, though.
    Answer:
that's a lovely idea Dita. I must admit GJ I haven't got any good ideas :o for my 18th I think I had a watch and for my 21st a ring from my Mum, Mr Pink paid for me to have my room (I was still at home) all done up when I was 21 which was ace although obviously a present i have now left behind..:(
What about going somewhere? as I've got older I've tended to prefer doing this for my birthdays rather than having something matierial..just a consideration a lovely weekend away or holiday you won't ever forget.
    Answer:
I got a trip to NYC for my 21st. I have a friend over there so my parents paid for my flight and gave me some spending money, which was very generous of them. It was quite a few years ago now mind. *longs to be 21 again*.
    Answer:
:o I cannot remember my 21st birthday present at all! My parents generally put money into a savings account for me (meant for a house deposit or whatever) and don't really believe in frivolous fun gifts. I think jewellery or an "experience" are the best gifts.

hopefully when i see it in store, it wont have a silk back either.
but now.. i have no clue what tops to wear underneath..
i was thinking a top with sleeves that stop at about the elbow..
or anything really.. i just need ideas pleasee ;)
    Answer:
I quite like them worn over girly dresses - maybe something with little sleeves, like the Kate Moss pansy dress? I saw a girl wearing a floral dress with tights, boots and a waistcoat recently and it looked fab :D
Also maybe worn over a logo-ed or plain t-shirt (maybe a puff-sleeved one?), with skinnies and boots (or even platforms for a night out) - a sort of rock-chick look with big hair and eyeliner, you could add some long chains or a scarf too?
I want a waistcoat myself now I've thought of those outfits
    Answer:
thanks, that all sounds like a great idea!
i think ill be spending a bit more than planned on my shopping trip on saturday now..
    Answer:
I usually wear my waistcoat with a long sleeved top or if it is not cold, a short cap sleeved top with some jeans.

    Urgent Topshop help!
I can't tell you how desperate I am for a pair of boots that I saw instore on Saturday!! Typically, they didn't have my size, but I was told I could order them. First place I tried was the internet, but they were and still are out of stock in all sizes. So I rang my local store on Saturday, and they told me that there were so many pairs available to order, but they couldn't order them for another week ie the following Saturday.
Tried another store who told me that my local store had misinformed me and that they could order much earlier than the following Saturday. Had a phone call from this store today saying that the warehouse was shut on Sunday, so the earliest they could place the order was on Monday - they also told me there was less pairs available to order than my local store told me.
    So, basically, anyone know:
    a) what the correct procedure is for ordering via store
    b) when their website gets updated
Thanks so much - sorry to ramble, but I have to have these boots, no others will do!! :)
    Answer:
Can't help with anything else but the website gets updated Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri and sometimes Saturdays.
    Answer:
    Thank you Cat! ;)
    Answer:
can you not order them instore ? This is not guaranteed but I have ordered stuff from them before and have received it. They call you when the item arrives in-store to them.

    Soooooo
Having my birthday party at the end of oct combined with Halloween. It's in a big old chapel in islington, for about 300, with a big dancefloor, the DJ in the pulpit, a roof terrace for smokers, and a chillout area . It's on till 5am, we are going to decorate with coffins and skeletons and fancy dress is compulsory.
I need to design the invites today or tomorrow and get them out asap, sooooo, any ideas what it could be? I am a wee bit stumped.
I reckon you need a good invite to grab attention, the only idea I have had is along the lines of 'one night in the chapel' against a cartoon version of a michael jackson thriller scene. Bit rubbish. I am not very creative - my forte is organising and railroading people into giving me what I want from them :o. Please, please, please, to any of you super bright, creative types, can anyone come up with any better ideas?
    Thanks!!
    L xx
    Answer:
One invite idea which I've read about and thought was really cool was to use old 7 inch singles with appropriate song titles and silly pictures - the kind you find in charity shops for 50p or less. You can stick a sticker with the info, dates, times etc on the front. The same goes for vintage postcards - the 50's pin-up/pulp style ones and then you can scribble on the back of them. Or use ye oldey pics of the area maybe but cutomised with pics of you and the other birthday girl?
    Answer:
They are both good ideas - think we are going to try and go for an online invitation, just cos we are inviting about 350 people and will get very expensive and time consuming. Like the idea of a 12 inch though. Wonder if I can find one of thriller
    Any other ideas? Thanks PiP!
    Answer:
Ah I see, in that case it's even easier to design something cool i think.
Some of the pulp postcards are quite halloween-y. Let me try and find some pics.
And using the thriller cover as a background is a great idea too. Could you send round an email with the info and a you-tube clip/link to at he thriller video or something else spooky?
