to return or not to return?

NO.1. Ask :
to return or not to return?
Hi guys I need some words of wisdom. I bought the shoes "kitten heel court shoes" in brown yesterday from topshop £35 and I think I just bought them because I couldn't find any other shoes I liked more than them and didn't want to return home without a new pair of shoes!
But now I've got them home I'm beginning to wonder whether or not I should return them as I don't exactly know what I'd wear them with and I could always spend the £35 pounds on other shoes I really do like. But I have liked these for a while so I really don't know what to do  HELP! What should I do?
you can see them under shoes on www.topshop.co.uk
I would really apreciate any help!
Answer:
The link doesn't work hun, which ones are they?
Answer:
I can't see the shos because my computer's being silly. But I'd say return them. I always figure that if you have any doubts, you're not going to wear them, so you might as well get rid of them and buy something you really like. And tastes changed. As you said, you liked them before, but not so much now, and you only bought them for the sake of buying them, so yes, return them!
Answer:
I quite like them. Surely you could wear them with dark denim jeans or something? And a nice chunky chocolate jumper? I don't know. ThatS probably how I'd wear them at the moment.
Answer:
I like them, but then I almost bought myself a pair the other day but they didn't have my size! I think they're great to dress up a pair of jeans for a casual day out.
If you still aren't sure, I have seen a few pairs of these selling on eBay lately for a lot less. There might still be some around :)

    How do you spend??
Thought this thread may be quite interesting to see what peoples shopping patterns are?
I'm a complulsive shopper and If I see something I'll prob buy it.
This means that i'm normally skint by the second week after pay day which is very depressing:( :o
On the other hand I don't have any credit cards which is a bonus. Everything I buy comes straight out of my bank.
What I'm gonna try to do Is allow myself so much each month to spend and have one day a month (or weekend) where I can hit the shops.
I'm not sure that would work though, esp as i come here everyday:o
    how do you guys shop?
Do you allow so much a month or spend as and when like me?
Do you use cash or credit?
I need to cut down on my spending as I've a trip to florida in oct to pay for:) :)

Ditto! When I was working full time guaranteed I was skint by the 12th of every month - ridiculous and very irresponsible really! Then what I'd end up doing is taking stuff back so I could eat for the rest of the month!!
I find it worse shopping with friends when I haven't got a lot of money, I feel compelled to join in too and end up buying something!!
Now I try to write out a list of stuff I NEED as opposed to want and stick to it. This is what I did during the sales. I got everything I needed except jeans - but Ebay's taking care of that!
I havent maxed out my credit card at all and I'm very pleased with myself for not touching it to go shopping! I do have a large studennt overdraft though but I'm tackling that too so feel in control of my spending (at the moment).
I'm saving for my trip to NY now so that will keep me away form the shops until I go mad when I get over there as I've done more than enough shopping in the sales here in the past 2 weeks!!

    Intesresting thread...
Five months ago I earned an annual wage of double of what I earn now :( :(
And since I worked for london Transport, I didn't have to pay for travelling anywhere (which I have realised is v. expensive now :( )
Anyway, so now I have to be very careful with my money.
This is gonna sound bizarre old fashioned, but I have started taking every penny I have out of the bank, and only leaving money in my account for Direct debits BILLS.
Then I take All the cash (I say ALL, not a lot) and put it into a box at home.
That way, even if I see something whilst I'm out, I simply can't buy it.
For instance, today we went food shopping, and I took £40 from my box, and said to Mr. Cheeks that we could only spend £80 today. Ie: £40 each..
Then when I get to the end of a month, and I still have say £200 in my box, I'll take £100 and go shopping for some MAC stuff, and perhaps a few tops (or whatever I need/want)
If the next payday comes, and I still have money in my box, I see it as money I'm free to spend, and I'll use that to shop with too :D
Sounds silly, but it works for me..
When I earned double I just bought whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted..
And was normally skint by the 15th..
    But now, I'm a poor student :(
    Wont be forever though:) ;)
    Answer:
    This is interesting!
Well, the way I have to organise my finances is probably a bit different. I don't get money on a monthly basis but I get lump sums three times a year. So... if I spent it all in two weeks.....well, that would suck for the next few months! :D
I'm actually pretty good at saving money. I transfer most of my money to my savings account (with ING online, very easy to use and you can transfer money too and fro very frequently, it's perfect for me) so that I'm earning interest on it and it's not immediatley accessible to me. It only takes 3 days to transfer to my current account though so whenever I want money for something I take a chunk out of my savings account. I don't have a current account full of money. I do have credit cards - I pay for quite a lot of stuff using them, solely for the payment protection and insurance it provides, and then transfer enough money to cover the bill from my savings account at the end of the month.
I don't really impulse buy, I buy most things online because it's so much cheaper. I look around for the best deals on items, and cheaper alternatives. I would always rather have one expensive lovely thing than ten cheaper ones, so I try not to buy anything unless I really really want it.
Miss S your method makes a lot of sense to me too! :)

    Personal Shoppers
    Hi fashionistas,
I was wondering if anyone has ever used the personal shopping service in House of Fraser stores or John Lewis and if so, what are they like. Do you have to spend a minimum amount, and are you expected to tip the shopper? In particular i'm wondering about Kendals in Manchester and John Lewis in Cheadle.
I've got a posh wedding to attend (some minor celebs will be in attendance  ) and the only wedding i've ever been to is my own :o. The prospect of having to find something presentable and wear a hat is making me feel .
    Thanks, allbran

    Sorry about the selfish thread..
After showing of some looks on the "Inspiration" thread, I was contacted by the lovely lady who creates stylediary.
She asked if she could feature me, and I agreed.
I went on the site this weekend (faceless I hasten to add)
It's pretty weird seeing myself on such a normally stylish site, as I don't see myself as stylish at all..
Anyway, enough about me, just thought I'd share qwith all you lovely girls in fashion, as I have been really inspired by you lot :D
