Green cowboy boots - yay or nay?
Did a quick search on Cowboy boots, and they've come up alot on this forum! Do you think that, as a style, they're going to be around forever, or do you think they've hit saturation point and will be out of style soon?
I ask because I spotted a pair in the sale section of Oasis this afternoon, with a pointy/squared toe, and wondered if a) they'd help to funk-up my wardrobe and b) how much wear I'd get out of them. Have seen the beautiful teal pair which someone has bought on here, and the ones I'm describing aren't as 'classic' in shape as those ... Plus, green, huh? A pretty vivid (not quite Kelly, oh I can't remember, I didn't have time to look at them properly) green, at that ... I'd want to wear them with cords for work ...
Whaddaya think? Sorry no photo, but Oasis don't have a website!!!
Answer:
They do have a website but I can't see any cowboy boots on there. Tbh, I think cowboy boots, now they're absolutely everywhere, have had their day. They'll probably come back, so if you really like the boots you could always wear them when the trend's died down, but I'd say with the whole cowboy boot overload, I wouldn't personally.
Answer:
I think it depends on the type of fashion you follow. Some people like to wear what the crowds are wearing and are happier fitting in (which there's nothing wrong with!) in which case get some as I think we'll see people wearing them for a good few months (ala slouch boots and UGG's)
But if you like to follow the 'latest' fashions and stand out from the crowd, then I'd avoid them! They are deffinintly everywhere at the moment!

Thanks for the advice; you've basically echoed what I've been thinking! I like to look good, but hate wearing something because everyone else is wearing it, I just kinda liked the idea of boots that weren't my standard black/neutral!
I think that, if I happen to be there again and they've dropped down to a silly price (ie, £20), I try them on and they're comfortable (I'm such an old woman, I find it impossible to sacrifice comfort in the pursuit of fashion! :p ), then they're meant to be, and sod fashion. Otherwise, pah, move on!!!

hi there just wanted to know what people are planning to buy this weekend?
Answer:
Big fat nothing!!! Pay day tomorrow too!!!
Still saving hard for my hols... 7 weeks away now and counting! I'm hoping to return my faux green python bag I bought from Aldo though, so I might be taunted by other shops and may have to buy something anyway!
I am hoping to buy some presents for my family in HK though, so i'm hoping that all my buying energy will be channelled into that only.

..A pair of chocolate brown, kitten heeled, pointy shoes. Has anyone seen any on the high street? I looked for some yesterday but couldn't find any. I bought a gorgeous jumper yesterday and brown is about the only colour it'll go with. Any suggestions muchly appreciated :)

New boots, but...
NO.5. ask :
New boots, but...
Well, yesterday I found a pair of rather fetching round-toed stack-heeled boots in TK Maxx - they were a bit darker than the tan colour I originally wanted, but since they were only ten pounds :yay: I bought them anyway. It's rather hard to describe the colour - it's a light to mid brown, which it reminds me a bit of the cocoa powder dusted over some of Green and Black's chocolates!
In the cold light of reason this morning, I'm not entirely sure if they're exactly right. I have some very dark brown boots and these and wanted some lighter ones that were versatile enough to wear with black as well. I'm not sure about these for that reason only - they fit well, are well-made from nice strokable nubuck leather and are cut tight enough to fit nicely over my funny ankes :D But will they go with black? Normally I wouldn't quibble over ten quid for a pair of nice boots (!) but I have had some unexpected expenses this month and am skint...
Any thoughts?

Oooo.... :faint: I can't get used to being a style icon!
I'm now looking like a sunburnt cranberry!

Answer:
gk, I'd be tempted to keep them too. If they are a good fit, you like the shape, and only a tenner (that's such a bargain by the way!), then I wouldn't worry that they're not exactly colour your'e looking for. You never know, you may end up liking these enough not to bother looking for *exactly* the right ones!
