Question re ASOS delivery

NO.1. Ask :
Question re ASOS delivery
REceived the last of my freebies from ASOS this morning. It was wrapped in a plastic post office bag but never really thought any thing of it.
When I started to open it I cut my finger on some glass that was coming out of it. When I opened it properly one of the bottles of nail varnish had smashed and everything execpt a couple of things was covered in it.
I have emailed them but does anyone know if they will take responsibility or do I blame the post office for it???
Answer:
Hmmm I'd contact the PO too. I'd assume that ASOS would have sent it in good condition and that somewhere during transit in the PO's hands the damage to the package has occured.
Answer:
oh!JUST A WARNING,those barry m nail varnishes are easily breakable,so dont drop them on the floor

Not sure if this is the right forum, but figure this is where I will get the most answers.
I am not a big shoe person like some, my downfalls are bags and belt.
But for all 3 I have no where to store them. How do you guys store them, especially your shoes? I live in a not too massive 1 bed apartment, so storage space is minimal. My shoes are piled at the end of my wardrobe, my bags take up a whole shelf in it and my belts take up a whole drawer and are just all over the place.
Any suggestions please. cos they just make the place look messy! The shoes never stay in pairs in the wardrobe and I have to pull everything out to find the matches!!
    Answer:
Ikea have great storage for shoes and everything, underbed storage, stand alone, boxes you can stack and dirt cheap!
    Answer:
No Ikea here in Ireland yet unfortunatley. Its on its way I believe!
Till then will heve to come up with something else!! Thanks though.
Have a bed with drawers underneath to maximise storage space. But they are packed to the gills already!!
    Answer:
I live in a 4 bed townhouse, so I don't suppose this helps you much... but
My shoes are stored all over the house, some in crates, but mostly in shoe boxes and some on the wardrobe rail shoe holder thingies in my bedroom wardrobe.
My belts I keep in a special drawer - part of my wheelie drawer thing I bought from argos to keep all my bits of toot together.
My heres are piled into the top storage shelf of my wardrobe.
I guess I need to think this organisation thing through properly myself
    Answer:
I keep belts hung on coat hangers - takes up less space and stops them getting squashed. I hang my bags up on my coat rack!
As for shoes, tall shoes racks or transparent stackable boxes are good :) I keep out the pairs I wear regularly; out of season ones are stored in a box on top of my wardrobe and special ones are kept in their boxes on a shelf. Or at least, that's how it ought to be... Mostly it's all over the place!

Ebay advice on possible fake (sorry)
This is quite long but I know there's some very helpful baggers out there who may be able to advise.
OK, I could be wrong, but last night I bought a pair of trainers on Ebay via the "buy it now" option and as they were just what I wanted, I went to pay straight away but realised the seller hadn't put any postage costs outside of italy, although it stated they'd post to worldwide. I'm assuming they're based in Italy because I got an italian pay pal message, although when looking at the auction, the item location was London? Anyway, I didn't pay at that point and requested a total amount because I needed to know pp costs also. Anyway, I haven't heard back yet (know its still early) but in the meantime have been looking at the sellers feedback (100%) however they’ve only bought things in the past and I think the trainers are the first thing they’ve sold. Being the nosey being that I am, I looked at some of the things he's previously bought and come across the trainers they're selling to me and then read the person’s feedback that he bought them from and that person had a few negative comments about fake trainers. I saw that the pic of my ones have been used for various different listings and most comments seem to be that they’re fake or not sure of authenticity? Anyway, the person I’ve bought them from is probably innocent in that he bought the trainers but upon realising they’re fakes is selling them himself. I don’t know what to do because I’ve obviously committed myself to buying them. When I get a response, should I just ask outright if they’re genuine? I guess this serves me right for being a cheapskate and buying trainers from ebay!
Any advice would be appreciated :)
    Answer:
Oooh tricky one! Were they advertised as authentic/genuine? If they were and they obviously aren't, then (I think) you can call the shots. It doesn't matter were he got them from or how - if he is selling them as genuine then they should be.
If he hasn't stated either way then I'd drop him a line and ask. If he's honest and says no then I suppose it's tough luck on you - sorry.... :( If he says that they are then it's up to you really whether you want to chance it and pay for them. Hope that helps a bit - that's what I'd do any way, although someone else might have a better way of dealing with it :) Good luck!!!
    Answer:
    Thanks Toosh!
Well he's advertising them as Nike Air 95, brand new and boxed! If they were fakes, then that's obviously a false representation isn't it? Hmmmm!! They look realistic and I would never have had a reason to suspect if I hadn't looked at what he had previously bought, but then again they're only going to be for sport so I'm not really fussy as they won't be a fashion item, mind you, if I'm wearing them for sport I'd be better of in real Nikes. Ah, well, I've since emailed again asking about postage and will wait to see. I don't understand why it says item location as London, but his location is Italy
I should have just ordered trainers from my catalogue :faint:
    Answer:
I have come across this before when sellers say they are in the UK but are abroad...it is very naughty as you run the risk of paying duty as the goods are imported...I am pretty sure I reported someone for doing this.
    Answer:
Jerrica as you know I was looking at these trainers too ;). I actually emailed the seller 5 or 6 days ago asking about postage prices as it wasn't clear where he or the trainers were. Anyway he never replied which put me off bidding. Sorry, not sure what to suggest but wanted to let you know he hadn't got back to my email either...

    NO.4. ask :
calling any style gurus out there?
    Hi there,
All you style girls might have an answer to this one:
I've just bought a long black velvet halterneck/bare back dress (the halterneck piece is attached to the front with a silver diamante buckle of some sort) for a black tie dinner next Friday.
I've also got a nice pair of black stilettoes that will do the trick...
I'm not sure however what I could wear over it as i'd be freezing without anything.
A black shawly thing (soz can't remember the exact word for this) seems too bleak? Since i'll have a black here/shoes, i thought i should go for a different colour but don't want to clash with the diamante....
I've got a rusty coloured shimmery shawly thing but am not sure of the colour....
Any ideas welcome and gratefully received!!!!!
    Answer:
Re: calling any style gurus out there?
You need a cool colour to go with diamante (I'm guessing its set in silver?) so lilac or pale blue would be nice :)
    Answer:
Yep hadn't thought of those types of colours...
Tho blue doesn't suit me at all....lilac maybe then? Thanks!
    Answer:
Re: Re: calling any style gurus out there?
I was going to suggest something similiar; a silvery colour might work too (although avoid anything too sparkly or glitzy). Alternatively, you could try green or turquoise. If you want to add a vintage touch and the dress can take it without looking OTT, try a fake fur jacket or stole - very glam!
A wrap/pashmina/shawl would look fine, although I'd go for something quite classic and avoid velvet or anything too detailed/sparkly since the dress is statement enough.

    Answer:
Thanks great ideas coming in there, I hadn't thought of green for example, definitely an option...
I like the fake fur but it might just be OTT for me...
The material was also a concern, I can totally picture a pashmina now thanks to your answer, why hadn't i thought of that before???

Not as yet but you can bet Faith will have some when they get their new stock in for summer :)
    Answer:
I'm in the wrong season aren't I !!
Most shops still have all their winter boots out.
I want some for going travelling in and I'm going in less than 3 weeks!! :yay:
    Anyone... :(
    Answer:
    How about these
    Answer:
Thanks LoonyPumpkin - I've just been looking at the Office website and these very shoes caught my eye, as did about 4 other pairs.
These would be perfect were it not for the strange spikey bits (if I wanted my feet to look like small hedgehogs that would be great but I don't  )
These would also be great if they did them in a darker colour (like blue where the white is). I'm going to be doing a lot of walking about so I have a feeling white trainers will last me about ...ooh 10 mins.... before they looked wreaked!!
Any other ideas? So far this aft have had a sneaky peak at river Island, Next, Office, schuh, Faith and topshop websites with no success.
