Anyone for a spot of DIY? Customising clothes!
Hey all!
I have been really drawn to some customised garments and shoes recently (much of what I've seen is on ebay) and I'd love to have a go myself. Can anybody recommend what sort of paints/materials I should use please? I am particularly interested in painting onto plastic/synthetic (just because I don't wear leather) shoes and was wondering what paints would stay water and crack proof?
Anybody got any pictures/stories of stuff they've designed themselves? I've always been envious of those who can use a sewing machine and would love to properly make my own clothes one day but for now I'll content for a few buttons and ribbons!
I'm just really curious too! :)

Best Primark
NO.2. ask :
Best Primark
I'm torn between going to Reading or Southampton:rolleyes:
I've not been to the reading store before, but I love S'hampton:)
What is the best store in the south East?
And yes, I did a search on here, I've been at it for about 30 mins with no luck:)
Answer:
I prefer the Reading branch myself but you get some very interesting chavs in the Southampton one. I was in Southampton today but wasn't very impressed with range, I always find more interesting stuff in Reading.
Answer:
If you include London in "south east" then I recommend the Wandsworth Southside shopping centre store. I live a minute from the Tooting branch but often find better stuff in Wandsworth and they have stuff still when Tooting has sold out. You can do 3 Primarks in a day in London - Hammersmith then Wandsworth then Tooting!
It does help to find out the delivery day too - Tooting's is Wednesday (so I sneak out of work early or go in late Thursday !)
Answer:
Anyone know the delivery day for Wandsworth?
Answer:
I find the wandsworth primark really bad actually i only ever find basics in there, and occasionally some accessorises. I'm off to tooting in about 10min, anything good in there atm?
Brown boots, black jeans???
NO.3. ask :
Brown boots, black jeans???
Hello,
I just bought some fab black skinny baxter jeans from topshop (although kind of look dark blue in some light.) I just tried them on tucked into my boots but am not sure on the colours.
Can you wear black jeans tucked into dark leather brown boots? or should I stick to black boots?
Answer:
I'm not a fan of blank pants/jeans with brown boots as I think it just looks a bit off. I'd stick with the black boots or get some grey ones if you can. :)
Answer:
Yeah i think it is best to stick with black or grey boots because otherwise i hik the boots will stand out too much. if you think it looks good though- go for it!
the jeans sound really nice by the way- i want some!
Answer:
Thanks everyone! black boots it is then.
Bargains in Monsoon Sale
NO.4. ask :
Bargains in Monsoon Sale
Hello
been out shopping today and just popped into Monsoon, where I never normally go, cos they have a 70% off sale on. I got a lovely pair of chocolate brown cropped trousers reduced from sixty quid to eighteen and my mum, who was with me, got a gorgeous red chiffon cocktail dress reduced from 125 pounds to 37.50 (pound sign isnt working:confused: ) so very pleased :) :yay:
Anyone else?
Answer:
Not the sale - but Mum bought me my Christmas present (I'll be away for Christmas) early in Monsoon - a blue velvet skirt with sequinned bits! If you go onto the monsoon website - Girls - skirts, it's on the first page!
Answer:
'Snot fair. They've opened a new Monsoon in Leicester, so all of the sale stuff disappeared before it got to silly prices!

Just had a look on there, think I know which one you mean, if it is its very nice!
They have loads of lovely stuff in there, but at full price some of it is soooo expensive! Saw a really nice pink kaftan top in the new season section, for 85 quid
Answer:
How do they get away with such high prices? I bet the stuff is all sweatshop work as well.....
