classic styles

NO.1. Ask :
classic styles
hey girls, i know i've done a thread about skirts already but i need some more help,
i brought a really nice crinkle skirt from west one last week but i realised that the fashion for this will be gone soon,
can someone tell me what styles are gonna be staying around? i know the pencil skirt is here to stay buy its not practicle for everyday wear now is it.
Answer:
I rather like pencil skirts for office wear - I've got a couple of nice fitted (but not overly figure-hugging) ones which I used to wear when I was lecturing!
You might find this helpful - basically anything from sleek fitted pencil skirts to really full long dramatic Victorian-esque ones. Russian doll skirts are supposed to be quite big this a/w as well.

Dunno, I love them.
I always think of A-line skirts as quite wearable and 'classic', but my fave is the good old pencil skirt. But personally I'd go for whatever style you like/that suits you best, and sod whether it'll be in next year, wear it anyway!

    Leeds-O/T
    Totally O/T so I apologise...
MrSP and I are going to Leeds on Saturday and I was just wondering if any baggers from that neck of the woods could let me know where the most central place to stay is - best for shops/bars etc.
And also where are the good shops...
    Thanks
    SP x
    Answer:
Are there any shops in particular you're after 'cause I might be able to help if so. The main shopping street has Topshop, HM, House of Fraser, Gap etc, then there's the Victoria Quarter which is just off that street. Harvey Nics is part of this and there's also Reiss, Jigsaw, Karen Millen, Whistles, Space NK, Rose and co., Vivienne Westwood, Hobbs, Kurt Geiger, All Saints etc in there. Also some little jewellery shops and a designer who's name I've forgotten.
At the back of the Victoria Quarter is another main road that has Diesel, ****, Hugo Boss and on the other side Flannels which has quite a few different designers. There's also the Corn Exchange just off this road - big circular building with lots of little shops. Not a big fan of the clothes shops in there so don't tend to look in there.
Can't help with hotels really but if you want to know good bars/restaurants let me know.
    Answer:
God I remember going to HN in Leeds...I got so twisted in the bar I can't remember much else of my weekend there apart from waking up feeling like death next to a strange man
    Answer:
There are quite a few centrally located hotels which include, Hilton, Leeds Plaza, The Queens Hotel, Quebecs (really nice boutique type hotel) along with Holiday Inn Bewleys which are little further out.
If you do a google search you should find quite a good choice.
Hope that helps and you have a good time :)

Tomorrow is 'Induction day' at my college but the lessons don't actually start 'till Friday. So I want to make a good impression, and had a great idea for an outfit, then I realised were are meant to be playing'team building' games or something, so it wouldn't be suitable.
    How does this outfit sound?
    *Lola jeans
    *Black polo top
    *distressed gold pumps
    *antuiquey gold indian bangles
    *Butterfly ring
It just seems a bit empty to me though. Although this might be as I am desperate to wear my new (grren) hat, though it would probably go more with Friday's outfit..
    Answer:
Sounds fine to me - it's always good to go fairly simple for the first day and then experiment later :) You could always add a waistcoat if you feel like you need 'more'
    What's friday's outfit? :D
    Answer:
Maybe swapping the polo for a funky white/cream or beige top might do the trick? ;)
    Answer:
Sounds nice JJ.. is it a polo shirt or polo neck? ( i can't bring myself to start wearing polonecks yet - summer surely ain't over yet!)
    Answer:
It's just that I have spotted a few kids around who will be in my classes who look soo naturally stylish, and it makes me want to look that good!
CiC, good idea but unfortunately I don't have one yet, haven't decided if I can quite pull them off.
(Fridays was going to be a turquisey vest under purple big slouch V neck, with Green hat! Not decided on bottoms yet, depends if I have drama that day or not)
Miss S, I did have a jumper in mind, but it's supposed to be hot tomorrow.
Cats, Its a Polo tee, tbh I don't like polo necks anyways, and yes you're right, not cold enough yet!
    God I sound so picky...

How do you get pen marks out of leather?
Just got a leather jacket from ebay but there are a couple of pen marks on the back (love the way the seller never mentioned this!)
What is the best thing to use to get rid of them? Thanks xx
    Answer:
I've used milk to get pen out of clothing but not tried it on leather before. maybe saddle soap will help to lift it off ? also, apparently pledge wipes are great for cleaning and nourishing leather.
    bummer about the marks:mad:
    Answer:
Thanks Elliecat, it's not even the same jacket that was in the photo, the seller won't refund so I've had to leave my first negative feedback
I've been looking round the net and someone suggested baking soda and vinegar! It's a light camel colour so I don't want to make it any worse!
Thanks for replying though, will have to get some saddle soap and give it a go. Will try the Pledge wipes as well, thanks.
    Answer:
never knew milk would work! I must give it a go... I've got an ink stain on my Lush milk paddington
    Answer:
I've used milk to clean leather bags of all colours in the past and it has worked really well, I've never tried it on pen marks though
    good luck
