Dressing to impress...
Hi all,
Well I'm going out on Saturday night and am going to be meeting up with a guy I really like... So want to look good! I really don't know what to wear, am going through one of those hate everything I own phases...
Really I only need a top, something with a deep v, and that will cover the tops of my arms, but maybe longer so that I could wear a mini skirt? Has anyone seen a top like this? Extreme long shot I know!
Other suggestion muchly appriciated!
TIA!
Answer:
I'm not much use on the top front I'm afraid...but I would say go for either legs OR cleavage, not both.
If you're wearing a top with a low neckline I'd cover your bottom half, or a mini would look better with a higher neckline!
Ultimately you should just wear what you feel the most comfortable and confident in (and if that's disregarding what I said completely then so be it!) - if you feel good it will show.
Hope you have a good time, and good luck with the bloke :)
Answer:
What Bibbitybob said, boith about either showing cleavage or legs and wearing what yo feel comfortable in.
Answer:
Have to agree. Pick your better feature, or if both your legs and cleavage are fab (lucky girl) pick the one you prefer at the moment and accentuate it. But as already advised, stick to what you like :)
Help - water stain on silk!

Help - water stain on silk!
Does anyone know how to get rid of a nasty water stain? I've been given a really sweet vintage silk dress, but it's got water mark on teh front. Thought I'd ask here before I try anything!
Thanks!
Answer:
Do you know how long the mark has been there? Does the item say dry clean only on the label? I tend to handwash my silk in lukewarm water using a silk/wool detergent and it usually does the trick to get stains out. I would be more wary if the item says dry clean, or if you know the stain has been there a long time.
Any current La Redoute codes?

Any current La Redoute codes?
I have seen two absolutely LUSCIOUS pairs of boots I fancy (will get both but only keep one), and wondering if anyone has a good code.
I have found 20% off (unknown expiry) on hot UK Deals (1279), and also got a leaflet through this morning - I think £10 off and a free gift (must retrieve it from the recycling!).
Anyone have anything better (like 20% and Free P and P???) :D
Thanks
Minky
PS I will post piccies of the boots if anyone is interested.
Answer:
Not sure if it works or whether the 20% off deal would be better for you but there's....
£10 off no min and free p+p : Order code 2557
Answer:
Has anyone tried the 2557 code?
does it work, and is there a no minimum spend free p+p with it?
Answer:
Got this one in my email.
Please use Order Code 1746 to claim your £5 discount.
Already shared it with another bagger, but I don't know how many times it can be used. :)
Doesn't say anything about a minimum.
Shopping in Milan/Florence?
NO.4. ask :
Shopping in Milan/Florence?
So excited, going to Italy for a week this Friday :yay:
Has anyone been to of know well of shopping Florence and Milan?
I know Italy is generally expensive, especially in Milan, but there is anything that I should look out for? Anything really worth the money or are there bargains to be had?
Ta! :)
Answer:
There are supposed to be great factory shops just outside both Milan and Florence, if you do a search on here for that I posted about tham awhile back. haven't been myself though so maybe someone who has can recommend and give you directions.
Answer:
The huge market in Florence is good for leather bags, scarves wallets and purses if I remember correctly. The market's pretty good value for money.
I went years ago. I think it's open certain days though.
Answer:
I contributed to this Travel thread recently about Milan:
There's a bit about shopping in there but most of it's touristy stuff. Perhaps the threadstarter might be able to help you if you PM her.
A quick search of Google brought up these links but we stayed mostly in the city centre so I can't vouch for the quality of any of the outlets listed:

:)
Answer:
I did a bus tour of the factory outlets outside Florence in July. If I had to do it again, I would do it by hiring a car (so I could go back to Prada!) but it was alot of fun and there were some good bargains to be had.
I think I booked through www.viator.com and did the tour that went to Prada and the Mall. If you can, go during the week to avoid the crowds. Prada is great for shoes and clothes, while the Mall has Tods, Marni and Gucci (as well as some others that weren't as good when I was there).
In Florence itself, there is there massive market that CaramelX referred to - good leather belts and bags - as well as lots of shoe stores throughout the city centre. There is one section of the city that has alot of good stores - Miu Miu, Diesel etc - although I can't remember the name of the area...sorry...
I love Italy - have a fantastic time!
Black City Shorts?
NO.5. ask :
Black City Shorts?
Hi i am new would like some advice
Will this look be out now? or can you adapt it for a winter look with tights etc..?
What do you think?
Answer:
I'll be wearing mine with opaques and heeled round toe shoes :)
Answer:
Thanks for the reply! thats what i thought too, what about a patterned tight or fishnet?
x
Answer:
Not sure about fishnets but patterned tights definately! Just make sure the shoes aren't too fussy if the tights are patterened :)
Answer:
I wore my (black) shorts with nude fishnets and plain black ballet pumps. Got lots of compliments, it looked really nice, but I think opaques are the way forward this winter in the warmth stakes.
C xx
