GI Diet - any good???
Has anyone here tried the GI diet? Is it any good and is it easy?
I have never followed a diet as I find it to strict and restrictive. Im not looking to lose loads, probs just half a stone really. I think I have got in to some bad habits over teh last year and I need to get it sorted.
Would you recommend the GI diet? How does it work?
I have to admit my downfall is chocolate and desserts :o
Help!!!
Answer:
Yes, Weenie had half the forum on it at one point! ;) If you ask her nicely, she might be able to give you a diet sheet. There's lots more in Healthy Eating and Slimming too.
I love the GI diet and think it's the only diet worth following - it isn't really a diet, more a way of eating.
Basically, if you eat wholegrain carbohydrates, avoid sugar and particularly sweet fruit, eat plenty of lean protein (eggs, low fat dairy, pulses, seafood, chicken, etc), as much veg (barring spuds) as you like and have moderate quantities of nuts, seeds and good fats, you've got the basic principles sussed.

Answer:
One word. Effective :D
Answer:
On GI diet do you have to limit carbs (wholegrains)? Its just I do like bread and pasta. I can eaily live without white potatos, as I much prefer the sweet potatos.....
Answer:
Well, you're supposed to be sensible about how much you eat, but quite honestly, people get fat from eating too many calories, not from eating carbs.
If you're a big carb fan (I am!) it's certainly a good idea to try and eat more veg and cut down a little on the quantity of carbs you eat - I don't know what your portion sizes are like but chances are you could reduce your servings down a bit without really noticing it.
But you do need carbs for energy, particularly if you're physically active. Aim for anything between 6-12 servings a day (a serving is roughly a slice of bread, so not actually that much), depending on how active you are.

Black work trousers
NO.2. ask :
Black work trousers
I really need some nice fitting trousers for work.
I mean hipster style maybe sort of bootleg. ( I know bootleg is probably not 'in' any more but I like them) or straight leg.
I like them to be nice and fitted on the thighs though.
Does anyone know where I can get some?
Thanks
Answer:
Next normally do nice work trousers.
Topshop use to do black bootcut hipsters, not sure if they do now but it worth looking in there.
Answer:
I love River Island for black trousers, I got a pair ages ago in the sale for only £10 and they are still my fave pair, really comfy and well fitted! :D
Answer:

kitten heels?
NO.4. ask :
kitten heels?
I have dress (the colour is not a rancid orange like in the picture but a really bright red) and I am currently looking for cute kitten heels to wear with it.
But alas, most of the kitten heel shoes I've seen have been way pointy at the toe, and I prefer round-toed ones.
So, have you seen any fairly plain (since the dress is very bright), round toed kitten heels around?
all help is much appreciated :china:
Answer:
New Look have some... I've seen round toe ones with a teeny bow on them, have seen them in navy, yellow, red, black, cream..
ones with a button at the side. finally found a pic of these which I have -
You can also get my ones in cream, black prob a few other colours but they're the only ones I've seen :).
Answer:

How did you get on at work shiny?
NO.5. ask :
How did you get on at work shiny?
Just wondering how you got on at work, handing in your resignation and getting garden leave. :)
will you be about trying on your wedding dress soon?
Answer:
It's been a bit :cmdunno: really. My boss has been ok but my Sales Director is ignoring me completely
They haven't given me garden leave :( but have taken me off all projects that conflict with the new job. My boss is talking about the end of June as my leaving date, but he's given me a list of tasks to complete and if I get them all done they might let me go earlier.
I feel like I'm back at school!
I'm not up in Bury again until the start of September, but I'll then be up 3 or 4 times between then and the wedding and I would love to meet up :D
Answer:
Horrid situation Shiny :( What exactly do they expect you to do? Stay in the same job for the rest of your life :cmdunno:
end of June is only 6 weeks so thats not too bad, just rush through your tasks (  ) and scarper. :p
Be great to meet up :D and have a few glasses
Answer:
They're being such t*ssers that they've reassured me that I have made the right decision to leave
How're things with you? Is your car all better now?
Answer:
The car became a write off :( so am now buying another  it's all proving to be very expensive. But I should end up with a lovely new one :D ood
True isn't it, that you get to see another side of work and you know that they are wankers and don't really give a monkeys about you. Good you are going. :D
How are wolves getting on?
