Hubbie's dress sense
Hi,
Ok, so I'm partly posting to show off the fact that I've finally got my head around signatures and avatars... but I also have a genuine question.
My other half does scrub up ok for going out (particularly if I make sure I put out what I think he should wear!! ) but he dresses really badly for work. He works outside most of the time, so his clothes have to be warm and practical, but he wears these horrible tracksuit bottoms with baggy knees and holes in and ancient T shirts. I'm fed up with buying him stuff, because I don't want to act like his mum, but he's just got no interest in his appearance. I don't think it leaves a great impression on his clients!
Any fellow sufferers, or better still, some suggestions?!
Answer:
Accidently lose them.......
Answer:
sounds like he values comfort over image so you'll need to find some casual clothes that are comfy for him. What is his work? does he wear old torn clothes as he's afraid of 'spoiling' anything nice?
Answer:
Accidently lose them.......
that would've been my suggestion too.. a lot of my uncle's clothes end up 'accidentally' lost... including a yellow lacoste t-shirt that first belonged to my father, then my grandfather who used it for painting, then to another uncle of mine who also used it for painting and then one of my other uncles comes to visit us and is wearing a shirt that looks just like it, sits down on a chair, stretches and you see that there are dozens of little holes in the armpits  and he'd just been to a business meeting abroad
i think that shirt ended up lost eventually...
Answer:
Agree with losing the ratty looking stuff.
Find out what kind of clothing he needs for his job - presentable stuff that will still keep him warm go get it for him. I've bought loads of dress shirts for my OH because he trusts my fashion sense while he wants to look good he doesn't care all that much about work clothing.
Wellingtons

Wellingtons
With the rain forecast fot this weekend, and me meant to be dancing in a field tomorrow, was thinking i shoudl maybe invest in some wellies. Am off to the big chill in 2 weeks, so if the weather doesn't get better, could use them then,
Anyone seen any nice ones? I am not even sure where to buy the classic green ones of old, thoug surely they must be everywhere...
hmm - bloody british summer
Answer:
I think navy or green hunters look best (not that I am a welly fanatic!), you can get them in any saddlers. If there are none near you, try a country sports style shop.
xx
Answer:
Garden centres often have good sensible wellies.
I'm not buying any more fancy ones - people keep borrowing them and they never seem to come back!
Answer:
What's a saddlers?
Hmm, garden centre - am in central london, and not sure where any of those places are!
I want cheap ones for sure!

Sorry, it's a place that sells horse riding equipment. Harrods has a great saddlery section so you should def get them there. Hunters are the ones Kate Moss wears
bodice / corsets?
NO.3. ask :
bodice / corsets?
anyone seen any really nice corsets about recently? (to wear on outside?)
im looking for one which doesnt have bra type fastenings as i am an f cup so find it really difficult to get them to fit ie i need a lace up one.
sarah platt on coro had a really nice black one on tonight (first time i have liked anything she has ever worn!!!)
Answer:
I got a couple on ebay, but they do have the hook and eye fastening. I am a DD- E cup and they are fine. I was worried that they would un hook when i sit down or move but so far no body parts have popped out and been unleashed on the world. ;) Ebay has a huge selection just type in corsets in the search, and lots dont have the hook and eye fastening. A lot of the highstreet stores are stocking corsets without them too but I have found them to be very short in length whch personnally looks awful on me.
Hope you manage to find something you like :)
High Street Jewellery Shops
NO.4. ask :
High Street Jewellery Shops
What high street jewellery shops are there apart from Goldsmiths, HS Samuel?? i can't think of any other ones...
Answer:
I only shop online for jewellery these days (of the less expensive kind that is - diamonds I would save for a real life shop)
Answer:
There's argos too?
Depending on what you are buying though i wouldn't use any of them, especially the higher end stuff.
Answer:
Ernest Jones? That's where my rings came from, but I'm not sure if they're everywhere or just where I shop. :)
Answer:
Oooo if i remember rightly Ernest Jones and Goldsmiths are the same. I wanted to buy a ring for OH there as i couldn't get to the jewellery quarter at the time and they were out of stock so was told to go to goldsmiths :)
