I'm getting so fed up of
Galaxy dresses in any shape or form already!
This forum has gone galaxy mad!
Answer:
Yeah I don't even rate the TS one that much really. I really wanted one of these dresses when Kate Thornton wore one on X-Factor but everyone and their mother will be rocking them this xmas so I'm gonna give it a miss now.
The Oasis one is nice though but I don't wanna look like a clone. They're the new poncho!
Answer:
so am i, especially when its the shape/design/cut that, from the age of about 16, i've had in my head for my wedding dress :o
and i didn't even know who Ro-laand was then
Answer:
I know what you mean, i love them but can't find one in my size so my jealousy is starting to make me not like them any more, wrong I know, but there you go.
Heres a question though, has anyone found any good alternatives. I'm desperate for a dress for Christmas parties but, don't know what to get. I do love the one Kate Thornton had on on Saturdays X Factor but thats a whole other thread.
Answer:
I'm just fed up of it because i don't have an occasion to wear one and if i did you just know everyone is gonna end up wearing the same.
Shame cause i like the style of it! Hopefully the people that have bought them will be able to personalise them with accessories.
Still gonna look in topshop for some to ebay though... :o
Xmas do
NO.2. ask :
Xmas do
I need some help with an outfit for a xmas do I'm going to. The brief is:
* Want to be dressy but not OTT. Most of the other people going are women around 40/50 so I'm expecting them to be wearing black trousers and sparkly tops combo.
* Need to impress. There's this guy going that I like so defo needs to have the wow factor coz I'm not sure he's even noticed me before.
* Need to look my age. Said guy is 39, I'm 26 so he's prob too old for me but what makes it worse is that they all seem to think I'm about 18! So I need to look old enough for him!
I'm thinking a skirt/dress. I've got a lovely black satin pencil skirt, not sure what sort of top though, and fancy buying some lovely heels to go with.
Or I've got this warehouse dress which I wouldn't mind wearing as I haven't worn it yet, again need some new heels:
Hope that's enough to work with! Thanks :)
Answer:
Hi Shell,
First of whats the format of the do? i.e. is it very formal/posh
I like your dress but if it were me I wld be inclined to go for your black pencil skirt with a sexy bodice/corset top ala coast or warehouse.
I have a do to go to on friday and am going for this option and the combination of slinky skirt with the definition from a boned top gives a v sexy look (and I don't go in and out in all the desired places)
That teamed with some killer spiky heels and some jewellery is bound to get his attention!
Also I find this look quite easy to wear and the range of these tops out there means you can choose something to your usual taste but it makes you look instantly more mature and sexy (well in my opinion)
I'm 25 and quite often get mistaken for 18ish normally but never in my bodice tops....so it must do something for me
Hope that helps
:)

Thanks for your reply linzimac!
I was thinking of a corset top actually as I have one in purple at home but I didn't want to be overdressed. It's just a meal in a restaurant really, but it's a friday night and they usually get dressed up, I'm just not sure if that dressy. I think I will go for the skirt though. I'll have a hunt for some killer heels and the choice of top can come secondary to that!
Answer:
Definitely the pencil skirt, how about a nice top (maybe Victorian style) and a waist belt for the super sexy look ;)
Answer:
A victorian top might be nice. I've got a wide belt but not sure it would go with victoriana.
It's this one in black:
What do you think? I actually wore this last time I wore my pencil skirt with just a simple vest top, fancy something a bit sexier this time though.
My hunt for a tea dress is finally over!
NO.3. ask :
My hunt for a tea dress is finally over!
I've been looking in vain for a 40's style tea/day dress. I remember seeing loads around (including a fab one in Tesco) but didn't decide I wanted one until they'd all gone
The other day I bought one from a charity shop to ebay. It's from Mango orginally and labelled a size Medium.
However, it fitted my size 8 dummy perfectly, and when I tried it on it fits like a glove, and comes to just above my knees :yay:
So it's not going on ebay afterall, but in my wardrobe!!
What do you all think? Would it look good worn with chunky tights and boots? Or would shoes look better?
Dress
Pattern close up
Answer:
Ohh like this dress,i would wear this with chunky tights and knee length leather brown boots.

Answer:
Wow that's a great find! I think it'd look cute with some round-toe kitten heels.

Ooh yes, I never thought of round toes (why not?! They're usually my first thought!!).
O/T Are you a craftster member too bunbunboo? I've made several of those felt monsters :D
what should we be buying NOW?
NO.4. ask :
what should we be buying NOW?
I'm loving the worn gold/silver effect bags and belts etc at the moment, i think they are really nice but it seems I only ever seem to see something I like after EVERYONE else has got it.
Likewise the sequin shrug type things a while back....I saw one in a shop and went out in it having not really seen them and honestly I must have seen at least 20 people in one that night I felt so common - needless to say I took it back!
Now im also loving the idea of legwarmers and have bought some footless tights....now seems everyone got on that bandwagon waaaayyyyy back. so girlies....can anyone give me any help on some nice new things which isnt going to make me look like a clone? Im also loving the beatnik kinda look topshop have going on but needless to say that'll be in every bar / nightclub in the country before the month is out!
Answer:
I'd suggest buying what you like and not worrying about whether anyone else is or isn't wearing it!
Answer:
Instead of buying overly fashionable items, why don't you stock up on basics in the colours you like from this season, perhaps treat yourself to something timeless like knee-high boots, and have fun accessorising? A lot of accessories can be worn in different seasons depending on what you wear them with, IMO. They're also cheaper so you won't lose out if they do date quickly. And you'll look more unique because you'll have put your outfit together yourself!
Charm necklace
NO.5. ask :
Charm necklace
As from my earlier posts I was looking for a long charm necklace. Well I went to Portobello rd market at the weekend and found this treasure -
here
I'm really pleased with it and have had lots of nice comments already. It's quite long and jangly.
:yay:
Answer:
Really sweet and would look fab with jeans, camel suede belt, camel suede boots/mules and a sexy cream or beige top!!!
:)
Answer:
That is utterly gorgeous.....very :throb: worthy!
Answer:
Ooh. Lovely. Can I ask how much?
Answer:
Lovely sounding outfit Miss S, well done!
Loving the heart CIC, reminds me of the Roger Sanchez video....:)
Trickster, it was £20 from a little stall about half way down in the fashion square bit of Portobello. It's a young girl designer and she does this one which is really long, then a shorter one, ones in silver and then braclets too.
Easy to make yourself I guess if you have all quirky little charms. Everyone one was quite similar in style but none the same. They all had a kiddies type charm/a pearly bit/locket/coral piece of jewellery etc.
