my lovely parent have offered to buy me a watch for Christmas. I'm looking for a sophisticated watch (as i have a baby G and a storm watch already) suitable for work wear with a suit etc.. i'm so bad at describing things! Has anyone any suggestions as to what I could get? Nothing v expensive though, I dont think they could stretch to a cartier!! thanks girls!

Guess watches are nice, they have a good range in H.Samuel...they are around £90, they also do dolce and gabbana watches for around £130, also accurist and seksi watches are nice depends how much they wish to spend really...:) NicX

After trying on a rather nice pair of (non-stretch) drainpipes in a charity shop (got all excited when I found them, sad creature that I am ;)) I am a sadder and wiser kitty after realising the awful truth:
People with *cough* curvy thighs just can't do drainpipes!! I'm quite small (size 8 bottom half) but I'm a big size 8 if you get me - well-muscled and athletic - and my legs are on the short side :o. So I just looked like a parsnip in them!! :boohoo:.
Does anyone know of any miracle jeans that might flatter the curvier figure??
I seem to remember a thread on this a while ago when much the same thing was concluded. :(

I've just bought the Sass and Bide drainpipes and they might do the trick 'cause they're quite thick denim. I got the Gap ones too and I think they're really flattering, although I have to say I'm not athletic or muscly at all :o. They did make my legs look super skinny though so they might be worth trying and they're really soft so you don't feel constricted at all. Don't give up - there's a pair out there for you!

Depends on your leg length but Next are 28 and I'm a 27.5 so they fit nicely with flatties. My first pair of new jeans for ages. I'm slim and petite overall but my thighs (and calves) are not "Kate Moss skinny."

Ooh also, were you wanting to wear them in boots or on their own? 'Cause maybe wearing them tucked in to quite chunky boots would avoid the so-called parsnip effect by balancing out your thighs and calves? I'm sure you didn't look like a parsnip anyway, it's prob just a shock if you're used to seeing yourself in bootcuts.

ETA: I've always worn them tucked into boots (I have a special pair for the sole purpose :rolleyes: ) but I was quite keen to try wearing them with ankle boots instead (like those red Topshop ones Mimi posted about a while ago).

really depends on what you like more. i reckon if you really think about it you have a preference!! otherwise. think of two numbers and get a mate to pick a number and get that colour. then if you want the other colour you know you want that one. if you know what i mean?!
