Work wardrobe, v.boring, sorry!
Right, I promise to stop stressing about my work clothes soon, but it's not long until I'm supposed to start work (wish it was sooner though) and I'm a leeetle nervous!
So for those of you who don't know, my job is as a trainee pensions actuary (still can't believe I'll actually be earning money :cmeek: ) with a 'formal business attire' dress code. I've got four suits sorted - plain black, plain grey, pinstriped black, lightly pinstriped brown - and all I need to do now is sort out tops.
I'm going to get a few more shirts (neutral colours, I expect) and I want to get some lightweight, probably v-necked jumpers too for when it's a bit colder; are those OK with suits? And what colours would work? Reasonably bright colours seem to be OK in this office.
Anyone have any other suggestions for styles for work tops/outfits? I don't expect to be wearing suits 100% of the time (saw several people who weren't when I was there for interviews), and I'm completely clueless about work clothes. Help!

Answer:
I find I can do work wardrobe very well in the autumn/winter but I always really struggle in the summer.
In the winter, I tend to wear A-line wool skirts or flared trousers with fitted wrap shirts or funky little cardigans and boots.
These are my inspiration for work outfits for the winter (images courtesey of NAP :D ):
Answer:
Ooooh, I love those trousers.
Didn't think of cardies - I think I saw someone wearing one (and not a nice one at that). Hmmm, that could work, especially for dress-down Firdays.
Thanks, Curls!

River Island Jeans.
NO.2. ask :
River Island Jeans.
I got a pair of jeans from River island i got a size 14 cos i am usually a 12 but 4 some reason the 12 was bit too tight.. I have worn the 14 jeans once and washed them once and now they are MASSIVE! If i took them back to the shop do you think they would change them for a smaller size? I was thinking of just sayin they were damaged.... I love these jeans they are so comfy and look wicked on but I am SO upset they are too big.!!
Answer:
Do you have the receipt and when did you buy them? If it was in the past month you could be ok? Don't tell them you've worn them though - just say you got them home and found them to be too big. I've never had a problem returning things to River Island.
Answer:
I've always had a problem with the sizing in River Island too. I am usually a size 10 but in there I had to buy a 12 but that was too big so I couldn't get the jeans I wanted. :( I wish sizes were the same in all shops as in some places I have had to buy an 8 but in others a 10 or a 12. That's why I like jeans with a bit of stretch in them as they fit better that way.
Anyway, I'm sure you will be able to take the jeans back but as Jerrica said, I wouldn't tell them that you've worn them or washed them as then you may have a problem returning them. Just tell them you got home tried them on they were too big.

Answer:
I just realised something - have they still got the tag on them? If they haven't then I'm not sure if you'll be able to return them. I don't know if you could say they were a gift from someone they took the tag off so you wouldn't see the price. Bit naughty but if they don't fit then you're never gonna wear them.

Answer:
Well, I would try and get your money back and then find a decent quality pair that doesn't magically expand after washing.
Sort of O/T...how the heck do I put on liquid eyeliner?

Sort of O/T...how the heck do I put on liquid eyeliner?
Hey guys
I LIVE in my kohl, but recently had my hair dyed blonder and I love the whole "messy blonde hair and dark eyes" look, if you get me. I bought some liquid black eyeliner and tried it out, but I just look ridiculous. I cant for the life of me get it in a straight line. Can some kind, kind soul give me a step by step walk through?! xx
Answer:
I wear liquid eyeliner but only in the evenings and on special occasions. Like you, I wear khol quite a lot.
The only way I can wear it is if I don't draw a line across the the whole lid, I just pull my eye taught (sp?) at the corner, rest my elbow on the table and wing it out slightly at the corner of each eye. Start from the middle of your eyelid and wing it out and then use a sharpened khol to take the line to the inside corner if you want your eye to be totally lined.
Sorry if that doesn't help, its a really tricky thing to use and imo, is best used for clean, glamourous looks rather than funky messy hair and smokey eyes?
Answer:
been using this for years, like my eyes to look defined at all times.
i pull down on my eyelid and start at the inside and go as far along the rim as possible in one stroke, thats the way i read for it to be done in a mag, keep it in one line for as long as possible!
haven't mastered putting it on my top lids as i always have gaps between it and my lash line!
ha i just noticed you can see it on my eye in my avatar!
Answer:
I find it easier to apply liquid liner over my kohl if I want a sharper look. I don't know why it makes it easier, but it does:)
Answer:
i find this too dots :)

Just bought a load of stuff from dotothy perkins online, using CiC's fab discount code!
Not sure about soem of the items- do you have to pay to return them? Or do they refund your p and p?
H x
Answer:
You can get a refund if you bring them back to the shops, or can send back by post for free.
Answer:
Returns are free through the post office or you can take them back to the store.
You don't get your postage refunded though.
I can't get the 25% discount thing to work because of the 20% offer, it over rides it :(
Answer:
Thank, yeah Ive just cancelled the order actually as the 20% thing is over riding the 25% code and its not saving me any money!
