Dress for petite
Hi all
My best friend is getting married next month and I'm looking for a dress. I can't really find anything and cos I'm only 5ft, I'm having even more trouble.
Has anyone seen anything recently for little people!?
:p
Answer:
I'm a skinny little 5 footer, and I have several Ghost dresses which I always pull out for weddings - their petite dresses are a bit and miss in terms of actually being small, but because they are bias cut, they usually work for me.
However, I had a couple of winter weddings last winter, so I was stuck (ie all my ghost dresses are summery) - I ended up going with a skirt/top combo as invariably, these are easier to find in small sizes.
Other wise, if it is a dress you are after, try topshop, warehouse, some ted-bakers stuff ... as a start?
Being short you have to learn to see beyond your reflection when trying clothes on in the changing rooms ... if the dress fits in the most imprtant places, ie boobs/arm-hole /across hips but is too long: just remembered, length can be remedied by having it altered professionally - or if you are a bit of a seamstress, you can take the dress up at home.
Good luck! :)

Thank you
I have seen some nice ones in Topshop so I think I may go for those!
Thanks for that tho. You are right - I tend to go off something if it's too long but I'll have to consider taking it up if necessary.

Recommend me a bra
NO.2. ask :
Recommend me a bra
Could somebody recommend me a soft-cup bra with
*no padding
*no molding and
*preferably no underwires?
I’m an A cup at the moment so support isn’t that important. I just need one that pulls them together a bit in the centre.
I’ve seen a cropped sports top with these close-knit seams that do the job of the underwires, but I’m really after a bra.
I don't mind if it's not pretty, I've got oodles of those and never wear them.
Thank you!!!

ETA: I don't want this look
Answer:
Calvin Klein? They do a range that might be what you're after.

Yes, thanks! I think this kind of thing would be good, but maybe a bit high in the neckline??? I don't know, I could order and find out but delivery's going to be a bit of a pain.
I've had a look at the Calvin Klein stuff on figleaves, it's much prettier than the other soft-cup ones I've seen. I've actually got one in my basket ATM, but I'm worried about the droopy boob effect in my link.
Do people wear soft-cup bras or is it all plunge and padding?? :)
Thanks girls!

I've just dicovered the MS tshirt bra, its the one without underwiring and its very comfy and quite flattering. I can't recommend it highly enough. I've ditched Elle Macpherson for it!

Answer:
Really like the shrug - how much if you don't mind me asking?
Answer:
Love both those bags Miss Sweetcheeks..:great:
Answer:
The shrug is £10 and looks very 80's glam when you see it.
My local Primark (Newcastle) had rails full of these and the gold ones in there today.
I absolutely love those bags, and actually had one in my hand at lunchtime today until I saw half a dozen of the most hideous looking chav-ish old women carrying them around the shop and it really put me off :( such a shame as they're lush
Answer:
I like the bags - £3 each bargain!!

the 'what's new in primark?' thread...
I thought this type of thread (if we kept it going) might please the peeps who aren't interested in the primaster (less threads etc) and the peeps who are?
it'll save us starting new ones every time we buy/see something new...
especially since I found this little blenheim copy in there this morning for £4:eek:

My fave bargain is a massive chunky belt that was meant to be on a gypsey skirt, but i Just found it on the floor and the SA gave it me for £2!!!:D (attached pic)
I also bought: a bronze slouchy bag
A brown cord slouchy bag
A denim suit style jacket with bronze buttons on the cuff and puff shoulders
2 Victorian blouses (1 cream and one white)
A rasberry thin knit wrap around sweater
A black skirt (like the one yingers posted the other day)
2 white long sleeves T-shirts (one with buttons and one without)
A pale blue camisole
A black V-neck wrap around top (very slouchy)
Some jewel bracelets....I think thats about it:)
