skinny jeans/drainpipes
spinoff from the other drainpipe thread...
I have the Gap Slim Fit jeans, and find that they are a) long - I have to roll them up to wear w/ flats if I get regular length. Might try to find them in ankle length too, but that doesn't solve problem b) they aren't really drainpipes, but straight legs - the leg opening isn't skinny, but not flared or bootcut either.
I have a pair of true drainpipes from about 1998, but they are a higher waist - sit at my natural waist. Would these be OK to wear, or would the higher waist just look too weird? The back is fine - the pockets are a bit higher and make my butt look pretty good. I've kept them because I have been working on loosing my jelly belly, and I can finally fit into them again (yeah!)
Opinions, please?
Answer:
If they fit you and look good, you should wear them. Much better to go with something thatn suits than be a slave to the current low-waisted fashion :great:
Wish i could fit into my jeans from 1998 *sigh*
Longer length jogging bottoms
NO.2. ask :
Longer length jogging bottoms
Hi
I desperately need to start exercising but before I start I really need to get a new pair of jogging bottoms to wear to the classes or the gym etc. Do any of you know where I can get longer length bottoms because all the ones I have tried on so far are far too short! The majority seem to be made for a 32" leg :( .
Thanks
Kat
Answer:
try tk maxx in the activewear section. i haven't ever looked specifically for longer legnth (i actually have the opposite problem) but they do so many different styles, shapes, colours, brands etc that i'm sure you will find something to suit.
good luck!
Answer:
Maybe try the TS tall section? Zara trousers always seem to come up long too and they have some quite nice jogging bottoms sometimes.

Yes, definitely Inditex shops, especially bershka and stradivarius (if you have one of those), though the quality is terrible and the company itself isn't very ethical.

Answer:
I used to use that as an excuse never to exercise!
I've found the longest length tracksuit bottoms are from the TopShop TALL range, they are better quality and slightly longer than the Zara ones.
Good luck with the exercise!

Top
NO.3. ask :
Top
Had posted previously about a top to wear with my choc city shorts this Friday - night out with the girls!
You wouldn't believe how I've searched high and low for a top that's strappy, white/cream and under £20. Now that I've finally found this top from Warehouse (in white) for £12, I'm not sure about the sizing. I know you'll probably say go and find another top that fits exactly but a) I haven't got much time to go shopping in between now and Friday as I'm at work and b) even if I did have the time, I can't be bothered hunting again!
Here's the top:

The size 12 fits great round the boobs but a little tight around the tum area;
The size 14 is a little bit slack round the boobs but fits perfectly around the tum area. As it's quite low cut, do you think it matters a whole lot that I'm flashing a little more flesh than I should?!? Can't think of anything else to wear underneath it other than, of course, a bra.
Have got a shrug from Gap to wear over the top and some turquoise and brown beads too.
Opinions please! Size 12 or 14...
Thanks! :)
Answer:
I'd probably go for the 14, as I'm more likely to feel self consious about it being tight around my tummy than it being loose on the chest.
(I just got some of the city shorts too! what kind of shoes are you planning on wearing with them?)
Answer:
Thanks JellyJadie - I'm waiting for my City Shorts to arrive in Gap - the store I went to didn't have them in stock, so they ordered them for me - if not, I've got a pair from New Look to fall back on!
I'm going to wear a pair of brown strappy heels on Friday, but will also wear them with wedges and gold strappy heels.
Thanks for your reply!
Answer:
