Meeting his friends!
I am - this weekend. It's going to be a long session - well starting mid/late afternoon - for a friends birthday.
I'm not going to know anyone there I don't think:eek: and they're all best buddies.
What to wear? I'm having a full on fashion crisis :( It's going to start mid afternoon so I can't be too glammed up but at the same time I want to look well dressed and a bit...well...sexy;)
Add to that the weather looks like it's going to be rubbish and I haven't a clue.
What would you wear? I feel like I wear jeans all the bloody time! I haven't been on a fashion purchasing spree for a little while and as a result I feel a bit out of touch with fashion :(
Answer:
Wear something comfortable and that is really "you" if that makes sense. Its hard enough meeting a big group of people without worrying about your outfit. Maybe stick to your jeans but dress them up a bit with a sexy top and gorgeous accessories. :)
My OH's friends dislike me  (laddy, footie types) so when I have to go out with them i make sure i feel great about myself and wear something tried and tested!
Answer:
well,I'm not gonna be much help as Ilive in jeans, but I would probably wear....
a not too reavealing vest type top,or draped jersey top with a shrug and beads/bangle and 'smart' jeans, a cute belt and heels or ballet shoes,oh a fabulous bag!!!
Answer:
Two replies and already it really helps! Gives me some 'ensembles' to picture myself in and work from.
I think I'll have to wear jeans tbh (I live in mine too ). If only for the fact that otherwise the only shoes I can wear with skirts are wintery, or open footed sandals - no good if it rains.
He's a boob man too so something with a hint of bust would be good....
I'm clueless at the moment. Perhaps it's cos I'm feeling a bit dumpy and overweight:confused:
I could wear a skimpy(ish), hinting at busty(ish) top if I wear a cute jacket over the top couldn't I?
What about shoes? If I have a metallic bag do i have to wear shoes with metallic stuff on them? I'm a real 'shoes and bag shoudl semi match' girl but I worry sometimes I'm too rigid with my fashion rules!
Answer:
I would wear well fitting jeans that make you look feel gorgeous! Have you got any tops that can take you from afternoon to going out? Or will you have a chance to change tops, even if it's in the car?
I like the idea of a skimpy top with a jacket, as that is a casual, but good going out outfit. Just be sure that it's not too busty as you don't wanna be falling out. ;)
Shoes I'm leaning towards something comfy, but can't picture anything at the moment. What are your preferences? Heels? Flats?
Pressing trousers
NO.2. ask :
Pressing trousers
Any tips? On the few occasions I manage to get a straight line I sometimes end up with shiny streaks....
Answer:
Re: Pressing trousers
Are you putting a damp cloth between the trousers and the iron? This prevents shiny patches from appearing. I don't have any specific tips for trousers I'm afraid, I'm terrible at getting the lines back in the right place.
I'm just trying to redeem myself as a domestic goddess following this morning's washing nightmare :o

Answer:
When ironing trousers, the key is also to start at the top and work your way down.
Firstly, turn the trousers inside out.
Start at the top, ironing the waistband, pockets and crotch before moving down the leg to the cuffs.
Next, turn the pants right side out. Place one leg of the pants on the ironing board and iron flat from the top to the cuff.
Now turn it over to press the inside of that leg, taking the cuff of the other leg over the waistband to keep that leg out of the way.
Repeat for the other leg.
Finally, iron the cuffs of both trouser legs and then neatly hang the trousers straight away.

To stop the shininess, use a damp cloth or tea towel to protect the fabric is recommended by the BBC, but a good steam iron should stop it happening anyway.
HTH :)
Answer:
Great - thanks for the tip!! I bought two pairs of trousers this morning and I am determined not to ruin them!!
Answer:
I use an ironing cloth that I bought from the kleeneze catalogue for about £1.99... it's kinda like a heat resistant mesh you iron your clothes over to avoid scorch marks. I also find it ideal for ironing fine knit jumpers.
Fake designer products
NO.3. ask :
Fake designer products
I have just been reading the August issue of 'Eve' magazine. It says money from the sale of designer fakes often goes to fund terrorists. I have just googled, and found this,
Designer fakes ‘are funding Al-Qaeda’

I really hate the idea of our liking for pretty things and bargains being exploited to pay for bombs to blow us up.

Yep - there have been reports of this for a while now.
The same is true for pirate CDs, DVDs etc.
A lot of people think of buying these things as a 'victimless crime' but it's not at all.
Answer:
Yup, I've heard about it too.

Trainers/Casual shoes
NO.5. ask :
Trainers/Casual shoes
Hi Baggers
my beloved reebok classics have reached their end and i need to find something comfortable and appropriate for wearing with jeans etc. Im reluctant to get some more classics because as a colleague pointed out they are a chav trademark:o
im only just 5''1' and any kind of running trainers make my feet look huge even though im only a 5. i've searched Google and MSN and i cant find anything i like
please help!
LCx
Answer:
Office have an okay collection of trainer-esque shoes in at the moment. None of them appear to chavvy either ;)
You could always try Converse, because they are clearly the best shoes on the planet. :D
Answer:
Pumas are lovely, I have ten pairs. The nicest of these are the Speedcat style and the Kutbac style.....here are mine:
The new Impulse cats are also really nice for summer:
:D
Answer:
I don't like anything that looks too sporty unless I'm actually excersising so mostly wear Converse but have a pair of Goas as well, very comfy.
Alternatively you could try Tod's style loafers or ballet pumps.
Answer:
another vote for converse, am hoping to get the brown leather for this winter, also got bought some adidas stan smiths, 3 velcro straps for my bday. initially though hmmm  but now i love them with my boy jeans worn low and a vest to bum around with my daughter on my days off :)
