paddingtons from lush

NO.1. Ask :
paddingtons from lush
i know a few of you here have purchased paddingtons from lush. i'm thinking of getting the coffee bean one for a/w....just wondering how they are going for you all....have people been staring at you in the street? hows the quality of the leather etc... thanks! x x
Answer:
I think Puddy had the coffee bean one, and she said it was quite a reddish colour.
I've got the Milk (as you must be bored of hearing about by now) and it's definitely my most-used bag. It goes with everything and I can fit the house w kitchen sink in it. It's worn nicely, doesn't look particularly battered but is gorgeously slouchy and soft. No complaints here!
In fact, I've had gals come up to me to ask if it's a Chloe paddington :Dand i *may* be guilty of letting them believe it is!
Answer:
I have the milk one also and I agree pc it goes with everything!
Only had it a few days so nobody asking me yet (oh there was one woman in MS on Sunday - I forgot) it does fit quite a bit in, my only problem is the bit of leather that is wrapped around the padlock (that says Lush on it) keeps sliding off, I've almost lost it twice.
Good quality though, get it :D
Answer:
Bella - Puddy I had the same problem. Ended up superglueing the thing... and two of my fingers together!
Answer:
Ah good thinking will get onto it, sorry about your fingers :D

I'm looking for a new bag for going back to uni, and saw this one on the DP website.

It's leather, and comes in tan, black, plum and aqua. I was thinking about any colour except black because it looks like it would weather well, and it's only £35.
    What's your opinions?
    Answer:
I'm going to have to say don't buy it.
Just to save on your overdraft you understand. :p
    Answer:
:hitting: Get out my forum you!
    :p
    Answer:
That is gorgeous - might buy it myself! ;)
    Answer:
I like it. Slouchy and capacious. Think tan or plum would be nice. Not black.

Help - need dress for very smart wedding
I am going to 2 weddings on consecutive weekends this summer, both of which are pretty high fashion and uber posh. I got a DVF in LA for one, but sadly can't wear it twice as there will be lots of the same people at both. I am just going to the reception for the second, as the ceremony is just the family, so don't need the full hat malarkey, but I am completely broke, so need to find something that looks great, but is cheap. The bride for the second is a fashion editor for a magazine, and there will be lots of very well dressed people there.
I have about a month, but need to start thinking about it now in case I need to get really creative.
Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone seen anything in the shops that migth work?
Would appreciate any ideas as am stumped...
    L xx
    Answer:
me too. I have just over a month so am looking as well - will let you know what I see in my searches. I am probably going to go high(ish) end though. I'm prepared to go up to £1000 for the entire outfit but would really love to spend much much less than that.
i am aiming for a really stunning dress, cocktail length, with a fascinator (the bride has said she'd love people to wear hats), gorgeous clutch and I am quite tempted to go quirky on the shoes so maybe a boot so that I stand out from the sea of strappy sandals. If I do go for boots I think I will wear matching 3/4 length gloves. right now I am thinking a pale gold fascinator, light camel skinnyfit boots (already have these but would like to buy something new) and cream/beige 3/4 length leather gloves but the clutch to match the colour or pick up a colour from the dress. have no idea of dress colour but keep picturing a plum / rose ...but that is probably because my fave wedding-event dress is an abstract purple, plum and black hawaiian print silk shift (sounds horrible but it looks great).
hey, you were looking for a gold fascinator - did you ever find one ?
    Answer:
Is a fascinator the feathery thing that you clip into your hair? Like the Philip Treacy hat that Laura PB wore at Camilla and Charles' wedding?
If so, no I haven't, but am still looking for one for the Nice wedding. My DVF is taupe, and I have tan/goldy miu miu shoes from last year and gold jewellery and clutch, so think that would work. Feel a bit like cinderella though :(
I saw one in selfridges last year - I really need to get out there and have a proper look. Butler and Wilson could be good too. I will let you know if I find one.
The other wedding though, i def have to get a dress. My budget is probably £100, if not £70 or £80 - I am seriously brassic at the moment.
Your outfit sounds FAB! God, how jealous! If only I hadn't spent all my money on clothes, weekends away and remortgaging :o
I just need a bit of inspiration to fidn something that looks expensive, but isn't, so isn't also instantly recognisable as high street. Hopefully such a thing exists!!!
    xx
    Answer:
I went to a wedding late last Autumn/Winter where there were going to be several high-brow "I work in the industry" fashionistas ... I am not a competitive type in general, although obviously wanted to look good. Main thing - I did/do not have the budget to compete with them!
I went for something very plain simple ( cheap: skirt fancy top combo with cute jacket) and accessorised to within an inch of my life.
It was my brooch scarf (which I customised the night before) and the colour of my tights, great shoes etc that seemed to grab everyones attention and (though I say it myself) I really did deserve all the compliments I got, as I looked fab! ;) :flirt: ;)
So my advice to you LizzieB would be forget about the whole label/name thing ... just go and be yourself in something you already have or buy something simple which you will get lots of wear out of... and accessorize yourself to death! Well, nto quite, but you know what I mean. ;)
    Answer:
Hi GGi - yes, I agree. I def can't afford an expensive dress, but have shoes and accessories I am sure. Just really looking for inspiration on the dress.
Good idea re piling on the accessories though.
No point trying to compete. I imagine the dresses there will be haute couture, so way above even DVF...

I can't find any nice ones ANYWHERE!!
    Answer:
I'm looking for some too, Clarice, and I think it's still a bit early. Usually Principles, Wallis, MS and so on get loads in for the autumn. Last year Miss Selfridge also did some nice ones.

    Answer:

I have a tattoo on my lower back and my weight is always changing so it shouldn't cause a problem!
Depends mainly on how much weight your planning to lose!
obviously if you plan on losing 4 stone it will affect it as your skin will loosed!
I'd say wait some time, a tattoo is something that lasts for life so for the sake of a few months compared to having a tattoo you dislike for the rest of your life!!
    Answer:
I've got a tattoo on my lower back have gained and lost weight (not huge amounts) and it's hasn't stretched at all.
I would wait until you lose the weight just to be sure though, especially if you're planning on losing quite a bit.
