Should tall women add inches?...
I am what you'd consider a tall woman, 5'10'' I think, and I've always had this thing about heels. I absolutely adore the way a good heel looks on a woman but it restricts what I'll buy myself.
Every season I see tons of gorgeous boots etc but I can't seem to buy them. I don't mind being my height but much taller and I feel soooo obvious and quite uncomfortable.
I never buy shoes with a heel higher than about 2.5 inches but even then I feel funny wearing them during the day - don't know why?
Loads of people tell me that they'd love to be so tall but I still feel really weird towering above everyone so tend to wear flats. Consequently my shoe wardrobe's a bit dull and samey. It's ok in summer but in winter I'd love to wear more interesting shoes than trainers.
What do you all think? Any tall women who throw caution to the wind and embrace their tallness?
Reassurance/tips/opinions?

Hell, yes!!!
I'm 5ft 8 and wear whatever height of shoes i like! Mr PV is 6ft 1 so that helps (not sure i would be so enthusiastic otherwise). i think the highest pair i've got are about 3 inches???
If it makes you uncomfortable, don't. If it doesn't bother you, then i say stand up tall lady! the overall impression i get from your post though, is that its not something that you'd be comfortable with?
i dont tend to wear heels in the day - well, not super heels. but thats just me. i'm either running around after my daughter, or running up and down flights of stairs at work so it just wouldn't be practical.
and there are loads more options for flats than just trainers. if you decide you dont want to wear heels, have a look at some flats, i can't get enough of them atm and am usually always in a pair of these (better for my feet that tend to swell a bit in the heat, how nice is that :o )
:) xx
Answer:
I'm 5'8" and always wear heels, night and day. I don't care if it makes me even taller (people always assume I'm 6' ) because I love pretty shoes and I think heels can change your posture and the whole line of an outfit. The only time it's a problem is when I have trouble buying trousers long enough to cover my heels enough. I love being tall, it makes it really easy to stand out from the crowd.
ETA my only flat shoes apart from flip flops are a really cute pair of Mary Janes, they are nice for giving my feet a break occasionally and it's great to be able to wear flats and still be taller than everyone else.

I'm 5'10" and I love that heels give me such a wonderful posture and confidence, but I'm also really lucky that my boyfriend is 6'4". Most people seem to think he's a giant but he's just a perfect height for me! My only problem is that I'm completely rubbish actually walking in heels and so I end up going back to my flats just for convenience. I agree that there are loads of really pretty flat shoes around so I actually rarely wear trainers.
I really envy the people who can walk so confidently in heels and even drive in them! What's the secret? Or am I just useless?
Answer:
My old flatmate was 6ft and she used to wear heels all the time. She looked great in them. Standing next to her, I looked like a gnome!

Small-footed UGG fans...

Small-footed UGG fans...
Sorry about yet another UGG thread! I guess it's the recent spell of colder weather!
I'm a UK size 3/36 and was wondering where smaller-footed girls got their UGGs from? Most places I've been to have only got size 4 and upwards, annoyingly, the very reasonable NZ site does that too.
I'd like a pair of tall Classics in Chestnut.
Thanks girls!
Answer:
Hiya,
Check out www.hartings.co.nz - quite reasonably priced too. Im a UK 4 but I wear a 36... this site goes smaller than that so you should be ok.
Good luck
Chokers- naff?
NO.3. ask :
Chokers- naff?
Iv got a choker I bought ages ago, its just a simple blue beaded one and its quite thick. I have no other casual jewelery and have been invited out tonight and I need something to wear on my neck as am wearing a low cut top. Do you think chokers are way past its time and naff? Although its about time I bought some accessories.
cheers
Answer:
If you like it wear it, what does it matter if it's over or not. I'm wear one today and naturally looking as hot as ever :D :D :D
Answer:
I like chokers I don't care if they're 'in' or not, I reckon they're classics.
Answer:
When I read the word choker I immediately thought of those black velvet chokers with silver pendents hanging off - definately naff! But beads are very fashionable at the moment, in any length I think.

What do I wear with...

What do I wear with...
A short green skirt from hm.
I bought it in the sales but now don't know what to wear with it. I was only £5 and buy one get one free so I'm NOT taking it back!
Answer:
Bargain!
It depends what type of skirt it is - is a summery one or a thicker wintery one.
At the moment loads of colours go with green - you could get some chocolate coloured patterned tights, boots and a chunky sweater or fitted blazer for A/W.
Orange, chocolate and turquise work well with green I think.
HTH
:)
Answer:
Thanks for your reply Ang999. It is kind of in between summery and wintery. Its fairly light weight and a sort of mid green colour. I will definitely try your advice. I'm going shopping this afternoon so will be on the look out for brown, orange and turquoise tops.
Do you think pink would go? A pale baby pink I mean. I'm not really sure.
Thanks xx
Tan boots - again! (sorry!)
NO.5. ask :
Tan boots - again! (sorry!)
My tan boots came Monday and fit fine:yay: I like them but i've got a niggle:rolleyes:
Lately i've been used to wearing little heels and these are huge (about 4 inches) but they are block heels so not as bad a stilhetto's (sp?).
Do i keep them? Or do i send them back and i can always reorder in the future although i wouldn't get them for £68 like i have, i would have to pay the full £85? Or do i send them back and look out for something similar with a smaller heel.
Always the way isn't it, want something desperately and then you get doubts:rolleyes:
Any experiences of walking in tall block heels grately appreciated:p
Oh and here they are...
Answer:
And just to add i'm 5'10 so they would make me a giant:eek:
Answer:
i love them! keep them and just practice walking round your house, you will soon get the hang of it! :)
Answer:
If you like the style of the boot, and can walk in them, I'd say keep em and wear them with pride :D
On the other hand, if you're going to be self concious wearing them, then there's no point in keeping them. I can't comment on being a giant, I'm a tiny 5 foot 7. ;)
They are gorgeous though.
Answer:
they're gorg! keep them!
i think block heels are easier to walk in than stilletto aswell (like stabilisers!) but cos i'm a shortie (5' 3") i look like i'm clomping around with them.
4 inches are a good balancing exercise!
