Knee high boot help

NO.1. Ask :
Knee high boot help
Hello fellow baggers...
I've noticed that knee high boots are coming back in.. and are being worn over jeans by a few celebs.. I'm having trouble finding the correct fitting jeans to allow my boots to go over the top of them.. I'm getting that bulgy look through my boots which is plain ugly.. anyone help?
Also.. what is everyone else wearing with knee highs at the moment? I havent seen many people wearing them yet.. so.. I need idea's!
Thanks!
Answer:
i got some great ones from la redoute, I think they are lee jeans. They are really skinny fit though and perfect with boots over. Added bonus of making your bum look fabulous too!
Not wearing my knee highs yet but can't wait!!
Answer:
I think basically you need either skinny-fit (see separate thread) or slim-fit.
Avoid bootcut though as these are for wearing outside jeans so there will be too much material. Sorry - stating the obvious a bit there!
As for what works and what doesn't - I guess the best thing is to try and see so take your jeans when you go boot-shopping and vice versa.

    (Not the 80's group)!
I've just done a calculation of what I can allow myself for clothes money this month.
After outgoings, I have approximately -£32 to live on. I can't believe it, I don't see how I am supposed to live on this! I get paid well, I get nearly £8 an hour, which is good considering I'm only a Receptionist. But I only work part time due to needing time to look after my horse. I did extra hours which have been added on and I got £700. 'Great,' I thought, 'nearly as much as when I worked full time,' but I have nothing left - I'm in minus numbers!
    :(
Really quite upset about this and would like some sympathy please
    Answer:
*am now singing romeo juliet* siiiiiiigh. i LOVE that song.
muchos sympathy - and bucket loads of empathy - i'm in exactly the same boots, oops, freudian slip, boat i mean  and i NEED 2 pairs of uggs for the upcoming autumn winter  (and my credit card was declined yday :o :o :o :D )
    Answer:
Aw bless, it's a really crappy feeling isn't it? I'm always struggling to find extra money for the things I want, if its any consolation! Is there no way you can do more hours, or do a couple of shifts in a pub or something? Then put the extra towards treats? (once you've broken even of course)
Anyway, don't get too down about it - it will work out! I'm sure we've all been there. Big hugs.

    Answer:
....there I was thinking this was going to be an 80s themed fancy dress post !
You have all my sympathy, that's why I don't budget because it would scare me!
Will you be better off financially next month? If I'm really broke one month I'll make lists of things I want and do a bit of online window shopping . It's so not the same but it can help bide the time....
    Answer:
I know that feeling! I was self employed for a couple of 2 years and spent all my tax money on fabulous clothes....
Now I am paying it all off on top of paying tax in the job I am in...plus cards etc...
Am currently living on £23 a month!! My rent and travel is over half my salary alone! :(

    NAP - Grrr
Some of you may remember the Rick Owens leather jacket I posted the "will I look like a fly" question about a few weeks ago...
well, it arrived from NAP, I loved it and decided to keep it BUT the one they sent had a mark on one sleeve that looked like bronze metallic paint. The day I received the jacket I contacted NAP and they asked me to return the item and advised that they had put another one aside for me but wouldn't send it until the first one had been received back.
The marked jacket was collected by NAP on 14 July and when I chased today I have been advised that "the Quality Control Department" are inspecting the garment and as soon as their inspection is completed "the Fulfilment Team" will contact me to send me the exchange.

so I have just written a very shirty e-mail that I find the delay completely unacceptable, that I cannot see why the replacement was not sent out to me immediately given that it was their fault they sent me a marked garment in the first place and what kind of 'inspection' takes a fortnight to conduct. I've also asked them to confirm one is put aside for me as the item is no longer ont he website in the colour I ordered and also asked them to confirm that the replacement will be sent to me at the further reduced price that the olther colour is now selling for on the website (useful opportunity to knock another £120 off the price).
worse still - they seem completely unapologetic about it and I am tired of always getting an answering service when I ring to whom I have to provide my name and complete home address and phone number, just to leave a message for someone to call me.
plus I'm sick and very grumpy because i have to go to the stupid Herbie movie premiere tonight when I want to go home and curl up on the sofa with a pizza:sniffles: .
    Answer:
I had the same problem with a pair of trousers I ordered. THey sent me the wrong size and wouldn't send out the new size until they had received the old size back - it took bloody ages to go through their paperwork and then Easter intervened and in the end it took about 5 weeks before I eventually got them, by which time I had moved on to something else!
A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Nickle Rock and Roll Jacket When it fetched up it was horrid so i sent it back and re-ordered the Marc Jacobs military jacket. The very next day I received a package back from NAP. I was very very excited thinking it was my new jacket but low and behold they had sent the old Nickle jacket back to me. I was bloody fuming. THe samething then happened, I had to wait until they got hte old one before they could send me the new one. I didn't wanna bloody wait so I paid for the Marc Jacobs one and am now still awaiting the credit on my account for the Nickle one.
They get it so right on one hand but on the other they are useless. Trouble is are so bloody convenient.
Shame about your grumps - go to the premier and look fabulous darhling. You can pig out tomorrow with ya pizza xx
    Answer:
oooh NAP are so irritating - I ordered a long Missoni cardigan from there 2 seasons ago and I didn't like it when it came so notified them I didn't want it. So they persecuted me for hours with telephone messages saying they were sending a courier THAT NANOSECOND to pick it up and then when I didn't answer (I was in a meeting ffs!) they said the courier had had a wasted journey and they were debiting my card £25 and aaaaaarrrrrggghhh!!!!!!!!
    Answer:
gawd - their service is terrible isn't it:eek: - I can't believe all three of us have had such terrible experiences with them !
and you're right jules, if they weren't so convenient I wouldn't go back to them again. I'd rather go to a nice boutique and get treated well.
its odd isn't it that their service in getting items to you is great - so rapid and nicely packaged and great communication. and yet it is completely different if you have a problem. this is my first time returning something so I had no idea they were this bad.
    I also have a fume every time I read "Fulfilment Team" .
    Answer:
I always shop from NAP and haven't had a problem with them so far but can quite imagine they could be gits when they want to be.
Although I did order a pair of Moschino jeans, the slouchy ones, and they were so vile compared to how they looked in the pic. They looked like school cleaner trousers and they also take so long to acknowledge when something has been sent back so it holds up the refund procedure.
Did I say I didnt have any probs?:uzzle:

    Answer:
Don't usually post in fashion but it's lovely.
I have something similar in sea blue.
I like dresses - is it for something special?
    Answer:
ooh, sea blue, that would be gorgeous. Not for a special occasion really, just like dresses! If I needed to use an excuse with OH I could always say it is for his work dinner dance next month!;)
    Answer:
lovely, very pretty, what is it for, a special do?
eta cross post, well if you have a do coming up soon then it is a good excuse!;)
    Answer:
I'd post a photo of the sea blue if it wasn't at the dry cleaners - one wear and some fecker dropped a buttery knife on it.........
It's there along with the "spilt baileys" dress and the "drip of gin" one. Think there's a pattern forming?

What size pashmina should I get?
    Hi everyone,
I'm looking at pashmina-pashminas.co.uk and am trying to decide what colour to go for (I am a pashmina virgin!) but I've realised that I need to be careful what size I get.......I want it to be big enough to keep me warm, but not so big as it looks like I've bundled myself up in a blanket or something!
I'm five foot two and ordinary build (though wonky, heh) - can anyone recommend whether I go for the small or the large scarf, or even the stole?
    Thanks chicks! :)
    Answer:
I have a stole type pashmina in bright red. It's excellent, can be used as a stole (obviously) and is thin enough to wear as a scarf. It's not from the same place though...I will check out the measurements and post them up :)
PS I'm about your height too.
