I got some cropped trouser with military style brass buttons on the cuff for £6 they come in khaki, taupe and black.
Look out for the metallic bags, the big ones and littles ones at £5 and £3.
They have cute black knee shorts with brass buttons on the waistband which are V cute.
Victorian style blouses and velvet military style jackets are also in there at the mo :)

Having been unable to find the particular sort of long-length t shirt i want in the shops, i've decided to make one as my sewing skills arent bad and it should be quick on a machine.
However, I can't find anywhere that sells t shirt type fabric (you know, with a bit of stretch). Have searched local haberdashers, ebay and online retailers but they only seem to sell either thin cotton for quilting or lycra stuff for dancewear :(
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Whats the name of the fabric i need - 'jersey'?

you'll be lucky finding jersey fabric...
I get all mine from samuel taylor's (the leeds branch) and not once have I seen jersey, when I was after some. It's a pretty exhaustive selection there so I'm not sure if you'd be able to get any at all :(
Not to mention, it's notoriously difficult to sew...

You may be onto something triscca, men's tees are usually really long, and it would be easy to reduce the size of an existing top (i have craftster.org to thank for that!) perhaps a trip to primark mens section is in order

Triscaa's idea is probably easiest. I managed to get some decent cotton jersey on ebay, but that was just a one off sale. It's really frustrating, you would think jersey would be easy to get hold of. I don't think it's hard to sew with at all. I guess there's some kind of monopoly on jersey supply, as I suspect a lot more people would make their own t-shirts if it was readily available in decent colours and prints.

I find that zip fly jeans after a few months of wearing them, start to come undone, leaving me flashing to all and sundry!
One minute I'm sitting there, the next, I glance down and the zip has migrated south...:o
So button fly seem to be the way forward.
I don't really mind about waist - i.e. low rise or standard, and my budget is... well, as little as possible! I want really drainpipe style too, to show off my pins:yay:
