How much would you pay for...
Your dream item? Realistically?
I've fallen in love with a pair of boots, but they're over £300 :(
Now at the moment I really can't afford that much, but can go up to £150 for a pair. I'm trying to convince myself that there will be loads of boots in the next few months in shops that will be just as nice, but my dream boots keep popping into my head.
Please, someone tell me it's crazy money...
But boots are classic and if you look after them they'll last years...
Answer:
If they are a classic style and will last you for years then £300 is pretty ok.
Personally i wouldn't pay more than £100 for boots because what i like one year i might not the next (i'm very fickle :D ). I wouldn't usually go up to £100 but i've fallen in love with some Topshop boots:o
I do have to say though there will be lots of nice new boots coming out soon. I rushed into buying some faith ones because i thought they were the best then loads of newer nicer boots came out, hence they've gone back!
Answer:
I paid £450 for my Bayswater. Crazy money, but I adore it and carry it every day and everyone else cooes over it. I wouldn't spend as much on shoes as I'm more fickle about them.
Answer:
It is crazy money BUT if you know for sure you will wear them for years they will probably work out cheaper, cost per wear than some you will buy and only wear this year.
Sometimes buying cheaper things works out more expensive in the end as you buy lots more if it but don't get the wear. So I would say if they are your dream and you won't go off them and they will last then although they seem expensive now long term they will actually save you money (do you like my logic?!)
Answer:
I'm with bella - I tend to look at clothes on a cost per wear basis -if they are a classic style and you will get years of wear from them, and you are not going to get yourself in trouble paying for them - then go for it!
belts
NO.2. ask :
belts
How do you know which belt to wear with what?
i have a FEW belts but i have noooo idea what to wear with them... and when im in the shops i have no idea which belts to buy
can you girls help me out and post up some of your belts or tell me were you buy your ones from so i can stoch up on my collection?
ps how much do you spend on ayour belts each? the prices seem to be around £20 or am i looking in the wrong place?
Answer:
I use belts to add colour accents or to help pull oufits together colourwise or stylewise. So I have a lot in similar colours to shoes or heres, or that pick up colours in patterns (not that I'd wear matching shoes, belt and here, I might add!). For example, I recently wore jeans and a white tee shirt with minty green shoes and belt with a hot pink here and yellow jacket.
I generally spend around £20 on new belts, usually from Miss Selfridge, Oasis or Topshop, although I do have a few from Primark too. I buy a quite a lot from charity shops as well.
g_k
Answer:
£20 just seems a bit much for a belt,
£10 seems more reasonable. I got one in the sale in River Island for £10 which was a really nice creamish one with a diamante buckle,
does anyone have any pics, of belts they own?
I think I need some inspiration…
Answer:
i know belts have only recently become fashionable again but i've pretty much always worn them - not for fashion though, cos i need them to keep my jeans up!! i'm an inbetweeny size. generally i don't spend much on them and they're either plain brown or plain cream cos then they go with pretty much all of my wardrobe.
Answer:
Oh dear, I feel really guilty now, I spent £49 on a belt at the weekend :( :o
Its absolutely beeaaauuutifl though
Hubby was a bit shocked though, he did pay for half of it however so it actually only cost me 24.50 (there is logic there, somewhere!)

Answer:
My friends all got the first pair for £3 in Asda a few weeks ago. I turned up at this hen weekend in cornwall and they were ALL wearing them!
So on the basis that I know you could get them for less than half what they are listed at currently, I'd say the second ones.
But the Asda ones are really nice.
Answer:
They had identical ones to the barratt ones in Asda. On sale too for £6 :)
That wasn't much help sorry :p
If you want a more classic look, the second pair. For a more funky look the first ones :)
Answer:
I prefer the first pair, the second pair look like they'd come too far up your foot and the pink is cute on the first pair. But sounds like you should get to asda for them!
Answer:
Thanks there's a Stead Simpson  where I work which sell the first ones for £15 and I've heard Asda do them really cheap but I've never seen them in there!! How annoying! I do prefer the pink ones as it goes because they're more dainty looking.
